I've been recommended some old spy parody movies from the 50s or 60s but they're a nightmare to understand even with subtitles

The movie doesn't rely much on puns or jokes that easily get lost in translation so it was easy enough to understand. Lots of jokes are tied with french culture but it only takes a quick Google search to understand

OSS 117: Cairo: Nest of Spies is far and away my favorite French movie. The only ones that come close are the sequel, Army of Shadows, The Tall Blonde Man With One Black Shoe, and Tati movies.

One of the rare movies to depict kids, or teens here, accurately since it is an adaptation of a book written by a teacher and all the actors are non professional. I would recommend Ressources Humaines and L'emploi du Temps as well.
