Kumail Nanjiani Joins Marvel Studios' THE ETERNALS

>Kumail Nanjiani ("The Big Sick") has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' THE ETERNALS in an undisclosed role. Sources indicate he might be playing wisecracking scientist Makkari, who can move at superhuman speed.

>Directed by Chloe Zao ("The Rider"), the movie introduces the Eternals, a race of superhumans created by cosmic engineers known as ''The Celestials'' and once worshipped as gods by the human race, and their lifelong enemies, the monstrous, bloodthirsty Deviants. After a centuries-long stalemate, their war is revived in modern times, with the fate of the world hanging on the balance. The Eternals are led by Ikaris, a warrior fueled by cosmic energy, and his lover Sersi (Angelina Jolie), a psychic explorer who relishes moving amongst humans.

>THE ETERNALS is slated for November 1st, 2020.

Marvel going for the bingo in this film

CONTROL ALL GUNS

Isn't this the guy who failed as a comedian and got famous because he married a white woman and made a movie about it?

lel

he was the least entertaining character on silicon valley

POO

jesus christ
only a handful of normie actors haven't been in marvel films at this rate

It's the best gig in Hollywood at the moment.

>and his lover Sersi (Angelina Jolie),
?? not too old?

She's the same age RDJ was when he starred in IRON MAN.

I thought this was that thing directed by Ava DuVernay. Oh well, it will just be bad instead of horrifically bad.

She's directing New Gods, who are basically DC's Eternals and were even created by the same guy.

He was a series regular on a popular HBO show before that so no, not really.

It's really easy money as far as they're concerned. Plus it probably looks good to be part of the MCU atm

If it was so popular why did the most popular character leave the show to go star in the Emoji movie?

T.J. Miller unironically has brain damage from a motorcycle accident and zero impulse control.

TJ got kicked off. He was actually written out without knowing about it.

Kumail is funny but I'm sick of seeing him everywhere.

Eternals is the first MCU project I'm genuinely worried about. If it's handled like Antman, Dr Strange, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel, it'll probably bomb. It needs someone in charge like Guardians who can make an ensemble cast work well, with strong characters, and a good feel for the tone and aesthetic of a big cosmic story like Eternals. I know they're going to try to explain Deviants and Eternals in Endgame, but without a good hook into established MCU properties, it will be harder to pull off. I'm really expecting a big screen version of Inhumans here.

>We Wuz Godz

capeshitters are so brainwashed that they will eat it no matter what

i liked his video game podcast but that's the only thing i know him from

I enjoy his delivery, liked his role on Garfunkel and Oates.

>they hire a pajeet
Looks like marvel wants the DC audience

I hate his stupid fucking face.

That was Gary Busey, retard. TJ Miller had a brain tumor.

I thought he sells cellphones and accessories?

>surely this one will bomb!

You retards ever get tired of being wrong?

>currently a lead character on one of HBO's flagship comedies
>failed

>It needs someone who can make an ensemble cast work well, with strong characters, and a good feel for the tone and aesthetic of a big story

Come on now. Black Panther had all that.

Same difference.

DROPPED

Black Panther was a major Marvel character. They just didn't have a chance to introduce him until they name-dropped Wakanda in the MCU.

Black Panther was also released based off his appearance in Civil War, and his movie justified his aid and presence in Infinity War.

The Eternals really could fail. They were the more unknown version of the New Gods, and the New Gods was also niche. They also don't have much story material to work with, beyond Gaiman and Kirby. The main chance the Eternals could work if its a springbaord for Eternals influence in other comics, such as Makkari turning up in a Quasar comic.

Also, the only real chance the Eternals will do well is if it relates to Thanos. Thanos is an Eternal, which will be the only thing connecting normies to this movie.

super heroes are supposed to clean up the streets, not shit in them

"The Big Sick" is one of the gayest, most manchild titles I've ever heard. It's literally something a toddler would say to describe illness.
