The other mortal blow to sketch shows and sitcoms was the whole Sachs gate thing which resulted in the BBC totally giving up on anything other than toothless "POC" comedy vehicles on BBC 97 that no one watches as the scandal left them wide open to smears of being immoral edgelords by the likes of the Daily Mail who got stuck in with glee.

I stopped watching QI after Sandi took over. The show had already gone waaaaaaay downhill by that stage, but that was when I finally decided to give up on it. Prior to that I was like a TWD fan, only watching the show because it used to be good.

Would I Lie To You? is pretty much the only BBC show that's funny in my opinion. It's generally carried by Lee Mack, who's superhumanly witty (though I don't think his stand-up stuff is that great) and David Mitchell. The guests can sometimes be amazing though, especially Bob Mortimer. Watch some of his WILTY? clips on YouTube and you'll being crying with laughter.

Ive not watched the recent Big night out as when they remade Shooting Stars for the last couple of seasons without Matt Lucas it felt really old and tired, but the earlier seasons are amazing, i really love the mid seasons with Will Self and Johnny Vegas. So glad i downloaded seasons 1-5 when i could.

the one off big night out they did over a year ago was really a bit shit, but the run they did at the end of this year just past was actually pretty decent absurd shit. I think it took that shit one off for them to get back into it but also realise what was dated and didn't work anymore.
