how come the male characters were better written than the female ones. adam driver carried this fucking corpse of a show

iirc all four of them have family that are big in hollywood

Marnie a cute

As a girl, I hated pretty much every female character in this except maybe Jessa.

Buncha spoiled self-absorbed shits. Jessa actually had fuckups for family so that's why she's so messed up.

It gave us Adam Driver so stop complaining incels

>girl
Okay, brah

Nepotism and vaginal stones.

t. Hannah

Fuck off you ugly, annoying potato.

Did Yea Forums have a lot of threads about this show while it was airing? I'm kinda sad I missed that if so.

Protip: I actually like this show, and think Dunham is pretty funny. :/

it's like Tori Spelling in 90210. Ugly as sin but casted; her father was the producer.

The only character worth a damn in the whole thing is Adam.

The rest of the characters pretty much do the same shit every season until it ends. I realized this after like Season 2 and only continued watching for Adam.

>oh gee Hannah gets mad at her friends and does something self-absorbed again
>oh gee something about sex and and vaginas again
>oh gee another "we are such shitty people but it's okay" message that really goes nowhere again

bump

It was alright before the show made it clear in an insufferable way that nothing ever mattered and all the characters would revert back to some status quo.
The only thing that changed was an implausibly good life in New York without a job became an implausibly successful life with a job in New York
>Every season would end setting something up
>Season opener would come along and have a shift that rendered that set up pointless
>2 more episodes to watch it all become pointless
>Repeat
Guy characters were written in such a more interesting way that did not insist on themselves

Also the classic two plots
>Hannah has romantic fling with someone that could do so much better for one episode
>Oh gee Hannah gets such anxiety trying to be a shitty writer you wonder why she doesn’t do literally anything else

The show just seemed to kind of start hating her at one point, taking pains to make her more selfish than Hannah

I once heard that one of the main actors from one of the recent Kamen Rider's was in a small role in this show

does anybody know if thats true?

jews

Yeah, we had weekly live threads and discussions for a while but I stopped watching somewhere in season 3/4. first couple of seasons were unironically pretty enjoyable desu, you could always just check the archive

I hate how the show ignored the elephant in the room and never called out how fat and ugly Hannah was. The one time someone (Ray) even suggests it, Adam almost beats the shit out of him.

I get it was supposed to be her "fat and ugly girls like me can get hot guys too" wannabe feminism message, but it was clear to pretty much everyone it was just her unrealistic fantasy self-insert fic after the first couple of episodes.

Also ironic that the main reason her character is so undesirable is her horrible fucking personality paired with the fact that she hides behind her ugly looks as an excuse for being a shit person.
