Pet Sematary

Just got back from seeing this.
Awesome movie; Oscar worthy performances (that it will never be considered for) and genuinely unsettling - not so keen on the ending though.
I never saw the original version. What was different?

why isn't the title written in retarded child handwriting?

isn’t it supposed to be spelled Cemetery

semetary sounds like a Jew gathering place

In the original, it is the son Gage who gets killed and Louis' daughter has psychic visions. Victor is white, and Louis kills Gage at the end after the latter has killed the mother and Judd. Louis is mentally broken at the end of the movie and buries his wife at Pet Semetary thinking she'll come back good. She obviously doesn't and kills him as the screen fades to black.

I haven't seen the new one but I want to. What's different from what I described? I don't care for spoilers since I've seen the original.

is it better than Us?

Ellie is the one that gets hit by a truck and brought back by Louis. She kills Jud Crandall pretty much like Gage did in the movie/book and later goes after Rachel and Gage. Ellie kills Rachel while Louis hides Gage in the car, then follows Ellie to the Pet Sematary to prevent Ellie from bringing Rachel back.

Louis and Ellie fight, Louis gains the upper hand and nearly kills Ellie before reborn Rachel kills him. Rachel and Ellie bury Louis so he also comes back, and the movie ends with them approaching Gage in the car with the implication they'll kill him and bring him back as well.

I think what everyone wants to know is how cute the zombie girl is.

They are hacks

How's John Lithgow's performance? The original Judd was a tall bastard with a deep voice that went really well with the movie's creepy atmosphere. Based on the trailers Lithgow just doesn't seem to have that presence.

I can’t stand that dumb faggot from the terminator shitfest, does he ruin this movie like he ruins everything else he touches?

FUCK WHAT??
I'm just reading this and wtf is happening? I seriously didn't know this movie was coming out WHAT THE FUCKKKKK

shill's thread

It's because the children who made the sign couldn't spell.

Read the book in prison. I'm gonna admit the small changes make it sound refreshing, I'm willing to accept this

BASED

Everyone I know is seeing this except my buddy who has to take his kid to Shazam. I'll probably go on Mon night with my gf.

It's hilarious that we live in a world where capeshit has to compete with a cheesy 80s film remake and will likely lose.

Fred Gwynne was Herman Munster, and severely typecast later in life because of it despite being a fantastic actor.

hiiiii shilll!!!!! come here to shill?? ;)

heyyyy shilll go shill someplace else pls xD

Today is thanksgivings day for cats, but only for ones that came back from the dead.

Go away. We're discussing movies.

It's written by kids who didn't spell properly

>Louis is mentally broken at the end of the movie and buries his wife at Pet Semetary thinking she'll come back good.
Why would he think that? What the fuck?

Maybe it's 50/50

No, they always come back fucked. Give a look to the book, worth the read

Mentally broken is perhaps putting it lightly. He's gone fucking insane. He's lost his son once, wife, and has to kill his son again. Even upon seeing his wife as a zombie, he's ecstatic instead of terrified.

Does the remake include the story of Bill Baterman and his son Timmy? That was one of the creepiest parts of the first movie for me.

>It's okay because she only LOOKS like an eight year old girl, really she's a 1,000 year old Wendigo.

Is the sample size enough to say that? Could even be 40/60

He mentions it but no flashback

John Lithgow is a great actor in his own right but Fred's portrayal was iconic and I wouldn't expect Lithgow to top it in the same way I don't think he could be Darth Vader.

If I remember correctly, he buries her right away after death thinking that the less time between death and burial will make the person come back better. Maybe that's in the book though...

Read a fucking book.

Because he wasn’t thinking. He goes insane by the end of the book

It's pretty well explained on the book with the mascots buried by the kids. Not all of them come back devilish and homicidal, but all of them returns in bad condition, smells bad no matter how much they wash them, acts weird, etc. Every single kid regret the decision even if his animal don't came back agressive

Because when your baby gets hit by a truck then comes back to life and kills your wife you're kinda not in a rational state of mind. You fucking incels need to realize humans aren't 100% logical thinking machine all the damn time so fucking sick of this shit HURR WHY DIDN'T SHE TURN TO THE LEFT WHEN DUH BIG ALIEN SHIP WUZ GONNA CRUSH HER DUUUUUUHHHHHHH fucking shut up nerd god you're so irritating.

>reading that stupid shit
Just lol

>tfw no rotting, vengeful zombie wife to call you darling

is Louis metaphorically protecting Gage as the future of the White Race?

It was very good I just watched it as well.

>73% on rottentomatoes
>very good
lol

>taking rotten tomatoes at it's word ever
you must be a captain marvel fan

too cute considering how she died

Being able to read books is a rare skill among zoomers, huh?

Are you retarded? There are very good movies with less than 50%. Never trust critics.

Who cares about critic scores? Watch it and judge by yourself, Jesus...

I think in the book it is implied that a wendigo is behind it and is controlling him to bring it more people to empower it. At that point he just doesn't care.

t.Boondock Saint fans

Just got out of the theater, it was good, but not a fan of the ending.
