Final Destination (series) discussion

What's Yea Forums's verdict? I've never seen them discussed on here. Just seen them all throughout and I thoroughly enjoyed each one of them, 1 being my favourite and 4 being my least (still somewhat goofy & enjoyable tho). I'd like your honest answers.

What's your favorite death?

Its an interesting concept

the one in the bathroom,
I don't remember the movie tho

Ah yeah, from the 1st movie. Probably one of the more disturbing ones throughout the series. Seeing his blood-vessels pop in his eyes fucked me up.

Was he Death?

Nah, unless he's really good at reading lips and doesn't have that weird voice.

These movies make God like some little kid who loikes to play moustrap.

I like them.

2

2 was my favorite and the highway scene still scares me because it seems the most plausible

t. Been in a bad car accident

I've always been a fan of shit going wrong and killing people since I saw Demon on the Island (spoiler: there is no demon on the island) as a kid.

Also Death Ship (not to be confused with Ghost Ship) had similar "accidental" deaths. The candy one was my favorite. Old candy turned you into some rotting leper.

First one is good, the rest is shit. 5 has a kino ending but the rest of the movie is boring.

This. My friends and I watched it back when it came out and ever since I legitimately get nervous when in on a highway near a truck carrying a bunch of big shit like logs or pipes or cars or whatever. I also get somewhat spooked when I notice "omens" and worry that death is coming for me.

The second one is better than the first one, though.

Who is he then?

You should always stay the fuck away from trucks. Never trust truck drivers.

>The teddy suddenly swiping it’s arm to the side to stab the little girl in the eye
Top-tier comedy

Probably the gymnastic one in fd5 just because it's so cringy

Let’s come up with interesting opening disasters that the protagonist saves people from in the beginning.
>A fire breaks out in a huge circus tent, including falling trapeze artists, elephants stomping people to death, lions eating people, grand stand crushing people and of course clowns HONK HONK.

He must have good hearing.

That’s good! How about:
>cruise ship
>some explosion or kitchen fire
>scene like in Ghost Ship where people are severred by wires
>hero gets friends off in life boat
>rest of the movie is them being picked off one by one on the open sea

I enjoyed them when I was younger but now I cant watch more than a few minutes. Everything after 3 is bad too. They started getting worse when they made the set ups for death so unbelievable and far too intricate.

Wrong the twist at the end of five makes it as good as the first three.

I really hope they don't make any more, 5 definitely redeemed the movies and tied it up nicely.

I like when the foreshadowing is done well but not too obvious. Tim's was one of my favorites because of the build-up plus I'm not the biggest fan of the dentist office experience. A number of good teases led up to it even though its given away even before he and his mother enter the office.

I thought the teacher one in the first one was done pretty well, too.

Those are both good.

One I've been mulling over openers:
>rich kids go to ski lodge for some vaca
>avalanche ensues
>tons of extras get consumed by it
>the lodge is slightly affected but the avalanche creates different grizzly deaths like being impaled by trees or other skiers equipment, people on the lift get fucked up by wild wacky waving cable lines and such, suffocation from getting buried in snow, etc...

I think they'll do something like this at some point.

>field trip to detroit

I think they've pretty much done almost every conceivably dangerous location that wouldn't be boring, it's easy to think up elaborate ways for people to be killed off but coming up with something for the first act is kinda hard
this probably has the most potential but I can't think of any other scenarios that have potential for disaster like the ones in the previous movies

Great series

Exactly correct

>rest of the movie is them being picked off one by one on the open sea
I'd watch it.
>shark attack kills one
>misfire a harpoon gun for another
>bird drops a rock or something on a guy's head
>lifeboat/raft capsizes and gets cramps so they drown
>death resulting from choking after a fight over last food
>ending they wash up on shore
>tsunami hits
