Really liked how that one line tied the Army Dog and Generation Kill cinematic universes together. It was just a brief moment but hearing the gunshots in the background and the yelps knowing it was Army Dogs last stand. Powerful stuff knowing both stories were happening concurrently.

I know you'd have to reach pretty far to say he was innocent, but I think that one scene shows how disconnected he became from his own actions. He still perceived himself as a good boy, but in that final scene he notices for perhaps the first time in the movie that his actions no longer line up with his self-perception.
