Many of my friends named their kids after pop culture characters, mostly vidya, especially Final Fantasy.
They have such names as Aerith, Tifa, Cloud, Squall, Seifer, Rinoa, Zidane, Celes, Terra, Locke, etc...
One of them even named his son Link and another named his daughter Alita.
As for my niece, she is named after a Metal Gear Solid character which is still a relatively common name.
I gave my daughter another common name as well which is still taken from pop culture.
