It'll be kino but it's pretty likely that they blow the whole thing out of proportion. A lot of people seem to have the idea that a hundred thousand people died from radiation after the cleanup or some shit, when there really weren't that many casualties considering the scale and scope of the disaster.

The picture actually had to be taken around the corner with a series of mirrors reflecting the image since a direct photo of the "elephant foot" was impossible due to the amount of radiation immediately destroying any film they tried to use.

This photo was taken from behind a corner using a mirror to see the elephant's foot. There's footage of a scientific expedition INTO the reactor core which took place mere years after the big happening. They all survived. There were only 28 deaths directly attributed to the cleanup and less than that attributed to radiation after the fact.
