I don't know if I should feel shame or joy.
Haven't seen that autistic drawing since the early /ABAG/ days.
Based Asperger's Artist
I love this fucking general so goddamn much, holy shit.
>Imagine being Hugo in that scene and having to be all like "damn, Alita, you fuckin' fine, all sexy with your mechanical body and horrific anime monster face. I would totally kiss you, both my character and the real me." when all he really wants to do is disassemble another 16 year old in his hideout. Like seriously imagine having to be Hugo and not only sit in that chair while Alita flaunts her disgusting nanotech body in front of you, the favorable lighting barely concealing her rusted joints and octopus lips, and just sit there, take after take, hour after hour, while she perfected her panzer kunst. Not only having to tolerate her monstrous fucking bug eyes but her smug attitude as everyone on set tells her she's STILL GOT IT and DAMN, CYBORGS LOOKS LIKE THAT?? because they're not the ones who have to sit there and watch her mannish fucking anime face contort into types of grimaces you didn't even know existed before that day. You've been fucking nothing but a healthy diet of humans and sex robots and later alleged disassemble victims for your ENTIRE CAREER coming straight out of the boonies in Iron City. You've never even seen anything this fucking disgusting before, and now you swear you can taste the oil that's breaking out on her clockwork stomach as she sucks it in to writhe it suggestively at you, smugly assured that you are enjoying the opportunity to get paid to sit there and revel in her "adorable (for that is what she calls herself)" beauty, the beauty she worked so hard for training with Gelda in Mars. And then the director calls for another take, and you know you could kill every single cyborg in this room before the factory security could put you down, but you sit there and endure, because you're fucking Hugo. You're not going to lose your future in Zalem over this. Just bear it. Hide your face and bear it.

Something stronger, love.
now THIS is art
It's a meme.
Immense, keep-you-up-at-night shame is the only appropriate response from whoever "drew" that autistic abomination.
YEEEEESH
>"hey, maybe a game of motorball will break out during this fight"
>mfw
Drawing is fun!
Fuck your shitty movie
>That's to lewd user
We've almost reached cubism.
BAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
Doll body Alita > Beserker body Alita
(in terms of sexyness)
doll body is prettier but berserker body is sexier
it feels weird even calling the doll body sexy
Hello new thread. Please be healed by Arita.
Have you heard the good news about our Lord?
Anyone got a screen of when some user said he worked as part of the production team, I wasn't around back then.

Fun interview
Doll body IS sexy
If only manga-purist were here...
Serious questions: How does Alita's character and personality compare to the manga and OVA iterations, relative to what the movie has covered in terms of story thus far? So, assuming Gally was real, would she be satisfied with Jimbo, Rob Rod, Rosa & Company's depiction of her in the movie?
>Your out in the street with your girl and this GIGA-CHAD tells your gf to STEP ASIDE.
>wat do?
>mfw they had to cover Brie with puppies just to make her seem relatable and likeable
I tell her "Outstanding" and that she's heavy
If brie was hanging off a cliff and those puppies were hanging off of a cliff and I only had time to save one of them I would save the puppies and then come back and stomp on her hands to ensure her death
I think the design on the doll body was visually way more interesting than the berserker body.
You can watch two of the OAVs on youtube
youtube.com
Of all the characters adapted from manga, Alita's character has been changed the least by far.
For every other character i can give explain how they are portrayed differently. Bit Alita herself? I just dunno, there is nothing specific that comes to mind, no traits that are ignored or hyperbolized, no notable differences in her demeanor or body language. They stayed very faithful to the manga in that regard.
based homeless CM poster
Nice! Maybe I'll give the manga and OVA a shot, then.
Yoko actually
That's a bit of a moving target. Remember this is the beginning of her story. She has a puppy love stage in the manga, and takes Hugo's death HARD and dives into Motorball as a way to put it out of her mind. I think they did a good job translating this portion, even if they took shortcuts an alternate paths.
Rosa pretty much nailed it.
I think Jim/Robert/Rosa really understood the character and it shines through in a way you typically don't see in adaptations.
Ova is generally considered meh plot-wise, but there are many very good shots and (occasional) good animation. I think i've seen at least 3 "Old good, New bad" comparisons where it is used as an illustration for the former.
She is sweet and naive when she meets Hugo much like the movie. Even hides her power level in a fight to let him think he’s saving her. After he dies, and she goes into motorball though she gets increasingly more unhinged. Still has her sentimentality but revels in tearing people to shreds.
She’d be an undersized stray cat found in a ditch, nursed back to health, and went around the neighborhood beating up bigger cats. Probably black, and floofy. Black because of the whole bad luck meme. Everyone she cares about ends up dying directly or indirectly because of her actions.
Yeah the OVA is pretty great visually even though the budget must have been minimal. It should get some credit for coming up with solutions to problems with adapting the manga into a movie though.
I have nothing wrong with the style of anime on the right, for certain genre of anime. I just don't like it when everything starts to look like that.
Of course, it's easier, cheaper, and appeals to the lowest common denominator.
Next thing will be Alita x user unironic fanart.
^w^
We already have those drawings of Alita playing with Yotsuba.
/r/ing those pics
I'd post them myself, but I'm the user whose computer crash and who lost everything in his Alita folder. : /
When blurays hit I'm seriously going to buy copies with the express purposes of sending them to all my friends/relatives for christmas/birthdays. So these images and the concept of alita's witnesses going door to door with a book with a black and white headshot of Jim on the page across from deified Alita makes me smile.
Holy shit, this whole thread is entertaining as fuck. I got some OC's coming soon.
I overall prefer Gally but it is a bit unfair towards the movie since Gally has 9 volumes to develop. That's a judgement to make if Cameron and Rodriguez manage to finish their trilogy.
So if we only focus on volume 1, 2 and the small bits of volume 3, I'd say that it is a pretty faithful adaptation of the character. Gally is a bit more, I don't how to say it... child-like ? in the begining of the manga than in the movie but her kindness, heart, soul, bravery, determination, and need to fight to remember and find herself are well depicted. But Alita seems to become more mature faster in the movie than Gally in the manga (which happens more during volume 3, after Yugo's death). In the movie, Alita become an adult when she gets the Berserker body, but it is not the case in the manga. In volume 1 and 2 she appears mature on some occasions only, especially when she fights or reflects on herself and the world around her, but she behaves like a adolescent in love around Yugo, or like a child/young adolescent the rest of the time. This shift in personnality is shown by her facial expressions and body langage. So since I prefer the Gally of volume 3 onwards, I'd say that movie Alita is a great character on her own rights. I regret that she doesn't have her metal chromed thing under her eyes in the final scene of the movie, though.
Considering the OAV, I don't know. It looks a lot like the movie in terms of scenes and screenplay, but I don't remember it well and all I recall is that Gally is closer to her manga counterpart.
I can't answer your last question.
So, to resume my mess of a post, let's say that Overall Gally > movie Alita but movie Alita > volume 1 and 2 Gally (but it is a close call anyway).
hiya Peaches nice to see ya
Why isn't this allowed to be poster? This is Alita-based OC.
>I haven't read Mars Chronicles yet but as far as the original run is concerned I don't recall any hints at how societies work on Mars. So it's safe to assume Cameron and Rodriguez went down the road of ignoring this since they probably won't adapt Last Order and Mars Chronicles.
The issue is that it's short-sighted. What if Alita becomes a billion dollar franchise and they're at a point where they can afford to adapt LO and MC? They'll have to change too many things to fit the movie's story.
>Chiren is taken from the OAV. I agree the changes on Ido's character are debatable but they don't corrupt the whole storyline except, well, for the brain-chip. Also I don't recall any informations about Zalemians being sterile. Even Nova has a son in the manga, but maybe it is explained, I don't remember.
Zalemians are sterile but they can and do have sex. They're born in tubes, completely manufacted by an automated system, and then assigned to two adults to be raised, usually with no attachment between all parties involved. Their whole society is run by an AI and robots, and they're essentially guinea pigs for Jeru.
>For the rest, Vector is not that important in the story after volume 1 and 2 so he is expandable.
It's not like he's completely written out either. After the fall of Factory system he becomes de facto lord of Iron City. And he has a pretty important interraction with Kaos in LO. That's more stuff they'll have to rearrange in sequels.
>The pupper is not important, I agree that the treatment of Koyomi's character bother me but then again, it can be worked uppon without changing much.
I hope she's not written out and has a similar role in sequels as she does in the manga.
Thanks! Anyone have the other one with the panels in white?
Reminder sequel never ever
I wish someone would shoop this to be a copy of Idos journal or something Alita related
Reminder: you have a Blu-ray to eat
this seems like a good time to get comfy
>pic related
NOT to forget Kishiro himself saw it 5 times at least and thinks it´s the best movie ever.
So the changes Jimbo and mainly Rodriguez made are "officially" approved.
So in the manga we get a two-year time-skip between Alita's game against Jashugun and the Zapan arc. Will a similar time-skip be included in the movies? Or will she play Motorball and go straight up to Zalem to get recruited by Tuned?
Ideas on how this will work?
Ahh there it is, the one that's probably circulated the most.
Could I get those pics they're holding pls?
As it should be, it was after all designed out of love of parents for their daughter.
Berserker body is a machine of war, functional and deadly.
>will a time-skip be included
No idea, although given that they made Koyomi into a teenager I think they're going to do a lot less time-skipping
here's one of them
I might have the one on the left but I don't have the candle
The guy was obviously a fan of Jim's from the start, there are terminator inspired images all through out Gunnm, so imagine if one your inspirations liked your work so much he plucked it out of obscurity and made it into a major motion picture.
He's basically seen his dream come true at this point.
Look at me I'm a huge fucking loser who works for free and I have to actually beg a mod to ban people that go off topic in the gen I'm babysitting hahahahahahahahahaha
Help me mods!!! P-P-Please do something they're going off topic in the thread I'm spending all my time in!!! Help me!!!!!!
checked and keked
I knew that Zalem was run by an AI but I didn't remember the thing about the Zalemians being steriles, thanks for refreshing my memories. Or maybe it is something expanded in Last Order ? I haven't read it either yet (but I'm working on it).
Vector did become "king" of Iron City but as long as they introduce Lou Collins and Kaos, they can still handle the story. It is a throwaway panel in the epilogue anyway, so maybe it's not that important ? I don't know the nature of Vector and Kaos interaction in Last Order, so I don't know.
Yeah I hope Koyomi is still around for the sequels. I was legit surprised when she showed up as a teenager. Except now she will be a woman in her late twenties in the movies, but all the thing about Koyomi remembering Alita through the stories she heard will be lost in the process and that's a shame.
I agree with most everything this post has to say, but it's not fair to just bash Disney like this, especially since the MANGA AND ANIME STYLE WOULDN'T EXIST WITHOUT WALT DISNEY!!!
The Godfather of Manga/Anime, Osamu Tezuka, admits he was directly inspired by the works of Walt Disney.
So, I'd argue that from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves to The Jungle Book, The Black Cauldron, and the movies from the 'Disney Renaissance' (minus some exceptions) had the best animation and compares if not rivals the best anime animation.
>two of the
There's only two.
Pretty sure they’ll play up the colonists of Mars and other planets as being victims of the Sky Cities and the Terraforming. The URM won’t be just Mars but an alliance of all of these planets. Their cyborgs will be creations of the colonists to perform terraforming in their hazardous environments, or the cyborgs will be technology the colonists had to create for themselves to survive as the result of deprivation. That will be the reason for the war before The Fall - retribution for being wronged by the Sky Cities. Only the war turned out to be MAD and no one won in the end. The war could have been so destructive it devastated the Earth, precluding a need to mention the original causes of Earth being so fucked up in the manga.
Does anyone have the posts from that user who claimed to have worked on the movie’s production? They posted the casting call sheet or something too
Final showing at Regal tonight at 10:20... should I go? It would be my 5th and last viewing.
Nova calls Alita the last of her species[Berserker], but maybe just on earth, on the movie setting we don't really know a lot about Mars but it seems that things there got fucked up too if there hasn't been any contact between Mars and Earth since the fall.
I hear something screeching in the background guys, do you ear it as well?
So would you guys recommend this film? I hear it's quite the action packed thrill ride
nope
You didn’t get more showings added? Some anons got local showtimes extended. Why not go?
Last of the colonists or last of the Berserkers?
>final showing
>should I go
Is that even a question?
Yeah, weird noises, thank god I have my Helmet, need groceries
Too busy gettin comfy
Last of the Berserkers, Nova also says that Panzer Kunst has been lost and only the Berserkers knew the technique
>action packed
It's one of the best action movies this decade
oh it's gone now, must have been the wind
No I wouldn't!
Bad movie!
Incoherent plot!
Terrible acting!
Obvious and poorly done cgi!
Only good if you have clinical autism!
That same fatass from yesterday is back, responding to his own posts, in a thread he doesn’t like. Imagine being that sad. Seems more retarded than he was yesterday.
You're right.
Could you bring me back some oil and a screwdriver? I have to fix something
If you like action you are going to like Motorball, if it were my decision I would make a movie only about Motorball like that side story of the manga.
Stay on topic.
This thread is explicitly to discuss Alita, the movie. We're not here to discuss posters and bans and mods. Please guys, try to stay on topic.
Nope, last day for Regal in my town.
Right, so that’s just on Earth. There could still be colonists left elsewhere, trapped. The Berserkers and the cyborgs that preceded them could’ve been their soldiers during wartime.
Took me a while, but I found the archived thread:
>seems more retarded than yesterday
yeah it's sad but I think you're right
No, see Captain Kino and celebrate it making a brieliion!!!!
You should say goodbye to /ourgirl/
post your cutest Alitas
No, hold it this way, dear.
At least until the blu-ray release anyway
>cutest Alitas
how do I even choose
tyvm
We are out of Lindt. We can't watch your movie without it!
Sure, I just need more chocolate.
Hope they restocked, last time only this weird cheese was left.
EVERYBODY complained.
Then maybe try saying hi to a real girl!
Just kidding, you weebs will never know actual love. Lmao, stay weebed ya autistic fuck ups. You're all the failures you know yourselves to be, deep down.
>Is that really your cutest user?
wtf is that image op
The action is really well executed and shot as well. Rodriguez is quite skilled at turning chaos into readable action. There will be crazy bar fights with dozens of people and motorball races with huge complex machines battling each other but it never devolves into a flurry of fast cuts or a Micheal Bay style jumbled mess of random scraps rolling over each other. You can clearly make out who is doing what to whom, how they're doing it and why and the shots are wide and long enough that you can tell they aren't covering up for actors who can't convincingly throw a punch.
I think as far as the action is concerned we actually ended up better off for getting Rodriguez instead of James Cameron, this stuff is kinda is specialty.
c-can I tag along?
It's consistent with the manga. Except in the manga they're called Künstler and as far as everyone else is aware, they're extinct and Alita is "the last of her kind", although, in truth, few managed to survive to present day.
Yeah, Ali, I'm going to need 6 rolls of duct tape, silly putty, birthday candles, an electric can opener, a unicycle, Hulk smash gloves, firecrackers, Also, lemme get The Warriors on LaserDisc, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial on BetaMax, Battetoads on Nintendo 64, and a Felix the Cat wall clock.
>Check Friday screenings, no more Alita
Ah, well going to see Shazam! or Pet Sematary then I guess. Goonight, sweet princess
>Check Saturday screenings
Holy shit, now there's three Alita screenings in the same day. There haven't been that many since opening weekend. Whoever is booking these screenings must really believe in the legs for Alita almost two months after it opened.
Rodriguez said he looked up the top 10 bar cinematic bar fights to find out what they needed to top for the Kansas fight and it turned out that two were his (Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn) and two were Cameron's (Terminator, T2)
what the fuck are you on about
see
>they must really believe in the legs for Alita
they are nice legs
>Künstler
It means artist or practitioner, so it would still be accurate to call Alita a Künstler, she's a practitioner of Panzer Kunst. And that knowledge and training sits in the head, so it's not really inconsistent with the manga.
I'm using this one as my desktop background and it looks so damn good.
There could be Berserkers out in the wastes. Maybe Gelda is living in that jungle, or out in the desert proper, where we could get closer to the manga locale-wise as with TUNED and the Badlands, and get something Mad Max style
Believe in /ourgirl/
>believe in /ourgirl/
How to reconcile the manga with the movies?
No it doesn't.
You got a source on that? It's hilarious if true, I'd love to see/read wherever that came from.
>so it's not really inconsistent with the manga
Which is what I said. In the manga and movie they're an elite group of cyborg warriors. I think where they differ is that in the manga, from what I can remember, Kunstlers are an independent group, sort of like a sect or terrorist cell, whereas in the movie they seem to be a part of martian military forces.
It was in an interview with Robert I saw on youtube but I've seen so many that it would be hard to find again
Fun speculations but ultimately futile.
I don´t believe Jimbo himself made more than the script for the first movie which Rodriguez then had to condense.
>Alita leaving my local theater tomorrow
I believe it´s in the main behind the scenes, they´re all over Youtub.
>they honestly believe James Cameron has anything to do with this weeb trash outside of selling his name for the poster
Jimbo has 600 pages of notes. Knowing how details-oriented Jimbo is, and how badly he wanted to make a movie of /ourgirl/ I’ve got to believe there was enough material in there for more
Great gen and a great movie as well. 38 unique users with 135 posts, that's the mark of a long lasting gen. Really happy for you guys, and I'm not even being sarcastic. I hope you never stop making this gen, I think its just great
That would make zero sense, but then again, they were not supposed to be on Earth in first place, and they shouldn't be able to survive that long (Yoko is a special case).
The dude clearly loved Hollywood movies since his youth, especially Cameron and Verhoeven
Hmm, I wonder if I go to my local Barnes and Nobles I would find some Alita.
Last time I was there I found 2 fucking Manga’s literally called
>My Brothers husband
Woah that manga page is amazing how long do you think it took them to draw that! Look at that dinosaur too that's friggin epic!!!
Based
He wrote the screenplay.
And in one interview Jim, Rosa and Robert talk about LO a little bit and mentioned how Jim told Rob he wanted one of the movies to be set on another planet.
thanks friend we try our best
>spiderfag gif
Don't thank me, thank the hardworking Yea Forums staff!!! Desu Kawaii :DDD
>He ain’t no dog lover, that ain’t right
I kinda hope they don't to some degree. While I love Gunnm proper, and enjoy Last Order and beyond I don't think have the best execution, cool ideas and interesting concepts but I don't really like how it was put together that much and I'm kinda more interested in seeing Jim's take on it. Apparently Jim knows his stuff, I saw an interview were he's mentions events from LO and MC, Rosa too for that matter she's apparently up to date on MC as well, and I think even Kishiro would be okay with them changing stuff
No anons for NYC, or at least none I know about. Heading inside
>wrote 180 pages of screenplay
>drew storyboards
>had concept art produced all the way back in 2005
>wrote up 1000 pages of notes, 600 of which he gave to Rodriguez
>also gave Ed Norton ten pages of notes about Nova even though he had no lines
Cameron's such a beast
What a fukn waste..
sad
Hope we see more of him in the sequel(s) he was easily my favorite side character. Just the design of a cyborg cowboy with cyborg hounds is cool enough on it's own to be a movie.
Haha what are you talking about man, get back on topic
I no joke thought Ed Norton was James Cameron before he took the glasses off.
holy fuck this great
>also gave Ed Norton ten pages of notes about Nova even though he had no lines
19 pages
I know my JC stuff
It's a joke/bonus page, you professor emeritus.
You guys all have Yea Forums passes right? I was thinking of buying one just so I could Alita post more frequently
Yeah, haha. "He wrote the screenplay" was definitely an understatement. I should've known better than to reply to trolls anyhow.
Don't insult me please I'm what you would call an Alita noob but I'm very eager to learn and fit in!!! Give peace a chance :D
Dubs have spoken
He does have a kinda important role in volume 5 so maybe you'll see him in a sequel !
Okay, here's what I was talking about. Took me awhile, but the video's done.
Also pic related is new OC
Jerma Goes To See Alita At Private Screening
PART 1: PART 2: PART 3:
Dude I saw him too, that robot hand is CRAZY BRO how is alita supposed to win against that?
Woah, five volumes? That's like a thousand pages or somethin that must have taken you years to read xD
Professor Emeritus, is that one of the bad guys or something? I just started watching it now in the theatre so go easy on the spoiler alerts
>has like 45 seconds of screen time total
>still one of the most memorable characters
The original series has nine volumes, Last Order has at least 14, I think Mars Chronicle is on volume three and then there's another volume of short stories
>this change in tactics...again...again...again...again
What are you even doing, Jerome? You've reduced yourself to pretending to be a fan while avoiding anything ban-worthy. You're not even proper shitposting anymore. All you're doing is helping bump our threads and making them stronger, this time without even annoying us. You've just become one of us, the very thing you vowed to fight off.
Alita never fights him, McTeague doesn't really fight anyone anyways he just lets his dogs tear people apart
I literally have no idea who you're referencing or what you're talking about. I read about the manga on Wikipedia and I'm watching the show now in a theatre and I was hoping to talk about it with you guys as I watched it. Are all you guys this paranoid?
I want to read that AS well. I wonder if Roadhouse is in there. When that guy pole vaults himself onto the stage with a pool cue I just, well I don't know...
>one of us
well he's trying, I'll give him that
I actually didn´t even recognize him anymore.
He got old, or lost too much weight.
Dunno.
Are his dogs robot dogs too? that would be epic af
>paranoid
we've been dealing with shitposters for a month and a half so yeah kinda
>watching the show in a theatre
bullshit, there's no way you'd be able to post and watch the movie at the same time
Its fine user, I can tell you guys are a very territorial group of people and that new members simply aren't welcome here. I'll watch the movie in silence, I'm sorry for intruding :(
Still can't tell if trolling or not, but I'll leave you with the benefit of the doubt.
These threads get a LOT of trolls spamming and shitposting because...no real reason. They're just angry and jealous of our generals. They call us all sorts of things like shills, weebs, pedos, Marvel-haters, etc. A handful of them have remained with us over several threads, actually wasting their own time complaining about something they hate in a dedicated general that is self-contained and never spills out to any other thread or board on this site.
So, I wouldn't say 'paranoid', but it's left us very wary, skeptical, and alert to posts that are obviously or less obviously spam or shitposts.
Jeez, why don't you guys just bite my head off like McTeague's dogs or somethin
>the back row
actually gave me a spook
I've seen this kind of thing happen before - people who were either ordered to or themselves chose to attack something online - but then slowly realizing that they liked the people they were attacking more than the people they previously hung out with.
Here's one example of that: en.wikipedia.org

when was the last time Yea Forums had this much consistent quality? i've only been here for a year and don't find bane or sneedposting to be funny at all
Do you guys like stickers?
>robot dogs
yeah he has like five of them and they're all totally badass looking, I'll try and find a pic
keked at the end
>sleepy Alita sticker
too cute
Well the rest of Yea Forums IS getting a bit silly lately.
Must be the new sun rays or something.
Going to transplant /alita/ memes to the real world?
user I want all of them
We totally welcome newcomers but we're getting a little sick of the two or three shitposters who keep coming back and we're all used to swatting them aside but it does get tedious
one of these is not like the others
YES.
>Alita Hogan
my greatest creation
Why the fuck can't these be official merch?
TAKE MY MONEY NOW!!!!
Only Zalem has AI technology so everything robotic you see including the "robot dogs" are actually cyborgs in some form or another.
Just a matter of time.
Alita IS a cult classic ALREADY.
In time more people will notice.
best pic I could find, in the concept art they're all identical but in the movie each of them is unique
I'm including them if you bought cans from me. I can also send some your way.
Damn, Peaches. These were phenomenal. You've really outdone yourself this time!
KEKED
I'll buy a can if I have to to get the stickers, user
It's still crazy to me that these were posted at the same time
well I wasn't going to buy any cans but I might have to now
based and saved
Alita should’ve taken Large Robot’s chain fingers for herself like she did MUH FACE’s sword, would’ve been sick
Thanks. If you want the original file in one part, I posted it.

jesus, that's violent, what's the story behind this?
Holy shit someone actually watched Roadhouse. That's a great 80s movie rip Patrick Swayze
It is a spoiler for the manga and might be a spoiler for the potential sequel, you're sure you want to know ?
Checked and blessed OC peach.
She refused him the dab.
Alita humiliated Zapan, he tried to get revenge but she cut his face off, he lost his memory and got a girlfriend but then when he saw Alita doing motorball he went insane and accidentally killed her
that's not even half of it
>Tfw this made me wanna go see it in theaters AGAIN but it's out already
>get in loser we're going to zalem
>Patrick Swayze
>was bullied and beat up as a little kid for taking ballet
>took martial arts
>some bully picked on him and then got the snot beat out of him by lil' Pat
>nobody ever fucked with lil' Pat again
>lil' Pat grew up up to be Patrick fucking Swayze
WHY WAS HE SO BASED?
They get names in the comic.
someone's cans and stickers are on the way
We're going to drive deep into the Scrap Heap, and then we'll take a turn vertically upwards.
where are you selling the cans again?
yeah I know, I always forget their names except for Fang though
Do you send them gimmicks to finland brother?
Fury was loyal till the very end. He was a good dog.
my fav takeaway from this

I wonder which list Robert read because neither Terminator is on that one
>Fang
lol damn it I meant Fury
Sent e-mail.
Fang was actually the dog from the first volume, the one in Kansas bar that saves Koyomi from the underworld.
Fury is the one you're thinking of since it's the one Koyomi and Alita bond with and she calls it fang since she's only two and some change years old and still thinks "Fang" is what you call dogs.
>Tfw no PO box
don't doxx me pls
I just got a quite heavy package. I didn't realize that the manga box set was this big.
enjoy the movie user
For you.
huh I guess I just thought Fury and Fang were the same dog then because of their connection to Koyomi
how the fuck did mcteague's dogs get into the underground area? ido and hugo obviously are shown taking a ladder
I like how we have the Talhoffer manuals on the walls and what I think is the flatwoods monster on her overalls.
based sticker
>Talhoffer
End them rightly
Sure, user
In is easy, they jump down, they cyborg dogs with cyborg dog legs, both Alita and Grewishka can handle it so obviously the dogs probably can too.
Out would be more difficult probably need a rope and leaver or exploring the sewers and tunnels for an alternate exit.
>I'll make it very simple and clear: Alita: Battle Angel is really worth a watch. It's just entertaining and visually impressive, exactly what it was meant to be.
>Just keep this in mind that it's an origin story so don't go looking for an overstuffed complex story. It's just a fun action movie that introduces us to a new superhero Alita: Battle Angel, played brilliantly by Rosa Salazar. I became an instant fan watching her in this action heroine avatar, something she manages to pull off with ease. Watch her in the action sequences and there's no way you can't be impressed. Viewers were literally cheering for some of the most heroic moments in the film. Cristoph Waltz as Doc Ido is as awesome as always, it's just that his character feels even better and refined than what we've seen in the Manga. Mahershala Ali is also quite good, and so are Jennifer Connelly and Keean Johnson.
>But the one character that ultimately steals the show is Goose, the bird. Some of the sequences involving her are so hilarious that it was really difficult to stop laughing.
>Visual effects are excellent, and the IMAX 3D viewing just elevated them. And since it's most importantly an action movie, every single action sequence it delivers is impressive, especially the gun training sequence. I would call it one of the major highlights of the movie. Cinematography in certain portions is really impressive. Humor, like any other MCU movie, is top notch and really manages to make you laugh.
>Alita: Battle Angel has a simple-looking origin story presented and executed in a terrific manner. The directors have done a great job with the characterization of Alita: Battle Angel, and that is what makes everything in the film seem so good. The pace is brisk, gore is minimal to no, and there's nothing unsuitable for kids.
Pls no acid bomb-erino
These? There is more detail in this shot of them.
I assume they ran down the wall, since they jumped off the wall when they got down to the bottom.
based pasta
too bad the Damascus Blade doesn't seem to have a pommel
Also if you receive stickers please excuse the crude way they're cut. I'm a mongoloid and I'm using a razor blade cause I don't own any scissors.
McTeague too cool
should I watch this movie if i'm mentally unstable and very lonely
It's already too late for the anons that already got their cans delivered. Drawfren confirmed domestic terrorist.
if Alita wants to throw something at someone she'll just cut her whole fucking arm off
yes user... join us...
Yes. It heals.
It probably won't be harmful - they even recommend this movie as a activity in some group settings.
It's not a substitute for proper treatment though.
yes user Alita will save you
yeah fair enough
>tfw I made four of those
Can we get a McTeague solo film? An original sidestory about a bounty hunting cowboy with cyber dogs set a number of years before Alita directed by Robert Rodriguez? If you do it right you could even reuse have the sets.
lifefuel for manlets
His only trouble is having anything left behind to collect his bounty

>Men who hate women love Alita, but why?
>The robot girl warrior taps into several problematic tropes regarding “strong female leads,” including the “born sexy yesterday” cliche, which gives us innocent childlike women who also possess massive power but can’t find their way without a man.
>But Alita also taps into the male fantasy of a submissive girl robot devoted to her man. From the moment Alita meets street hustler Hugo (Keean Johnson), she becomes immediately enamored of him. He also happens to be the first male character she meets outside of her adopted father figure, Dr. Ido (Christoph Waltz). Alita’s slavish devotion to Hugo reminded me of one of Futurama’s best episodes: season 3, episode 15, “I Dated a Robot.”
AND MY FAVORITE PARAGRAPH
>Alita is not a sexbot, but perhaps something even worse. She is a lovebot, a cyborg that is powered by an unshakable and unearned devotion to the first boy she meets. Early on in the film, she opens her chest cavity and literally offers her mechanical heart to Hugo, saying, “I’d do whatever I had to for you. I’d give you whatever I have. I’d give you my heart.”
>What Alita offers isn’t sex. In fact, despite her shapely figure she remains innocent and childlike—that is, until she starts going into warrior mode and kicking ass. This tamped down sexuality combined with her fighting skills makes Alita a chaste version of the classic “girls with guns” trope, a superficial read on feminism that equates violence with agency.
OH HO HO NO NO NO NO
>And it’s exactly this kind of “female empowerment” that entitled fanboys crave: a hot woman warrior who fights not for herself, but for her man, while remaining utterly devoted to him. No wonder she appeals to internet trolls. For them, she’s a female fantasy come to life.
Might as well be the tagline.
WHAT!?!?!?!??!
He looked so tall compared to Rosa, Rosa must be classed as a dwarf.
Isn't this media outlet satire
You'll ride an emotional rollercoaster like never before for a few weeks but we'll be here for you
would've changed 'Goose' to 'Pupper' and 'MCU movie' to 'Robert Rodriguez movie'.
Other than that, solid 10/10.
Should I go watch it for a third time or not?
Is this true? he looked pretty tall
Rodriguez is 5'11 for scale, Rosa is very smol.
r/ing this, but with 'love' changed to 'autism'.
I was shocked
he has the proportions of a tall man
apparently christoph waltz is also 5'7"
>And it’s exactly this kind of “female empowerment” that entitled fanboys crave: a hot woman warrior who fights not for herself, but for her man, while remaining utterly devoted to him.
And that's her biggest fucking flaw. Even Hugo tells her to not just do things for people. Her relationship with him is a critical point of development for her, she learns to not be so blinded with passion and look at things from a more rational point of view. These fucking journalists are so desperate to push this movie down and prop up Captain Marvel, it's insane.
>The challenge failed because of course it did. Alita went on to gross $84 million domestically and over $300 million worldwide, while Captain Marvel just sailed past $1 billion at the box office.
The absolute smugness in this, not even comparing the lack of marketing, lack of brand recognition, and it still pulled in 400 million worldwide. What does she have to say to the women who fucking loved the movie?
They're above her arms so they're...shoulder pads?
lanklets can get out, Alita is for manlets
Really? I thought he is like 6’2 at least
sneaky zapan
Also, Rosa Salazar is a big leftist, the whole crew is, they're all Anti-Trump, Rosa even follows Shaun King, one of the biggest, most idiotic left-wing idiots around. Yet because the film's narrative doesn't tick the exact PC boxes they want, it needs to be shut down. What a joke.
It's not that surpising. Rosa is 5 foot 2 or so, taller male leads would have dwarfed her.
Please use some of your can money to buy a decent pair of scissors, mongoloid-kun.
It ought to be - it's named after a deliberate act of shit writing. It'll be like a magazine called Naked Came the Stranger.
Yeah, that's what they want you to think.
Yes, yes, and yes again.
Fucking manlet confirmed
This soulless husk has been made to face their own inadequacy and the dread is just dripping from every word.
I think it's serious
There's no way this is true. He's at least 5'9"-5'10". Look at him standing straight up in cast pictures. He's nearly as tall as Skrein, Rodriguez, and Cameron, and he's not wearing lifts or heels. Watch him in interviews. He's got long legs and big feet.
it's ironic because Hugo is universally panned by fans and the love arc is considered the weakest part of the film
we don't love Alita because we imagine ourselves as Hugo, we love her because of her iron fist full of tears
holy shit, burgers have some serious mentally ill people out of all that social engineering shit they made.
WE BROKE THE 85 MILLION DOMESTIC BOX OFFICE, GOYS
OH WOW, this is great!
Didn´t have that, thanks!
I like Hugo, but he serves a function for Alita, he's a piece of her coming of age story. And even then, there's nothing wrong with her falling in love, the aspect that's important to her is not diving in to things head first without thinking of the consequences.
What I find retarded is how they change their goalposts
>"WAAAAAH WE WOMYN ARE MORE THAN SEX OBJECTS!"
>"WHAT!? THEY SEE ALITA NOT AS A SEX BOT, BUT A LOVE BOT THAT CARES AND HAS FEELINGS? THAT'S WORSE!"
I don't think there's an actor on earth whose google height listing isn't inflated so if anything he's shorter or the others lie about their height (rodriguez is listed as 6'2" but I'm almost positive he was confirmed 5'11" at some point)
also you can't always tell if shoes are lifts
Just bought the ticket. Here we go again!
Cute!
>we dont love alita because we imagine ourselves as hugo
haha yeah, who would do that lol so weird lol
is this thread just the not-so-stealth a/jp colony thread?
All the photos I've seen are from a low angle with him closer to the camera, it's hard to tell.
Counterpoint
youtu.be
Rodriguez looks tall as fuck
yeah I don't mind hugo either and I feel kind of bad for keean, some of the critics are brutal about his looks, just listened to a podcast that defined him as a "budget hunk"
Yes, where we only talk about Battle Angel-related things, mostly the live-action movie, and we talk about nothing else Yea Forums or /jp/-related at all.
aww yeah way to go Alita
And there's nothing necessarily wrong with that, or even having a crush on a character, it's understanding she's more than looks, which Alita totally is.
walmart brad pitt, lol. fortunately from my experience he didn't detract from the film. just like a cute, boring, misled kid
who?
Huh, guise?
I thought we were payed chinese shills?
SOMEBODEY forgot to give me the memo!
AGAIN.
who that
>What is brand recognition
>What is media protection
>What is marketing and advertising up the ass
Alita had none of that and still made close to half that.
Based
not to mention people are actually buying Alita merch
>Alita is not a sexbot, but perhaps something even worse. She is a lovebot, a cyborg that is powered by an unshakable and unearned devotion to the first boy she meets. Early on in the film, she opens her chest cavity and literally offers her mechanical heart to Hugo, saying, “I’d do whatever I had to for you. I’d give you whatever I have. I’d give you my heart.”
Nasty, men-hating, radical feminists hate love so much that they're disgusted by anyone who has clingy or devoted feelings. Sorry, not anyone. Any WOMAN. A man is okay to be depicted as a devoted and clingy and selfless chump.
NEW BREAAADD!!!
NEW BREAAADD!!!
NEW BREAAADD!!!
we haven't hit image limit yet
Translation:
>I'm bitter because I'm an ugly post-wall orc who was unable to lock a good looking alpha
and now that it's too late for me I'm angry and I'm obviously not to blame and all men are trolls, MRAs and all women loved by men are bad because I wish I was them.
This is such a transparet cry for love and attention that it doesn't deserve a real reply. It looks like satire, then again, bitter post-wall women are unironically like this.
It's so funny seeing shit like this as a leftist woman
Like god damn, homegirl needs to get some dick in her life
That can be fixed
>"budget hunk"
>"Wal-Mart Brad Pitt"
Fucking actors, man. Their insults are my compliments.
So?
Bump limit actually can make the thread disappear.
Middle aged women triggered because the young meat is getting more attention than they do. It's always the same. I wish lots of fat and wrinkles for her future.
that hasn't happened once yet though
>Is someone baking some new bread for me?
>implying more than half these women aren't carpet-munching gold star lesbos who either didn't receive enough attention or were molested/raped in their youth
It's just sad, really.
>Why are all these old and fat women looking at me like that user?
>I just want to enjoy my chocolate in peace
There's no fucking way Keean is 5'7"
What's the best Alita art you've seen?
I want to spend a night with Rosa
REMEMBER the predictions of 50mn total DOM?
Yeah, only because rest of Yea Forums is such a snoozfest.
Seems a bit risky though.
I'm a fan of this one
I've saved so many it's hard to choose though
new bread when
>Tfw bi and grew up lonely
Honestly just the atmosphere of this shit being allowed to be written is harmful. /pol/ will warp your mind to be right-wing, huffpost will warp your mind the other way. Propaganda works.
>user, I remember the things I've seen in Mars now
this deserves an oscar for best short film
ill make a new bread
NEW
I want my bread now
she seems like a lot of fun
