Not that I disagree about nuclear power being more good than bad, but acting like ‘human error’ is irrelevant and can be avoided is fucking stupid. That’s basically just saying ‘shit happens lmao, this was gonna happen anyway, time to build more plants’ as if someone isn’t gonna fuck up again in the future.

Maybe nuclear power is safe, it's just either aging designs cobbled together by soviets held together with spit and gum that fails, or regular aging design that could be replaced with a 100% safe design but certain individuals keep lobbying to prevent more plants from getting built or upgraded so we're stuck with unsafe shit. ;^)

I used to feel that way a short well until I researched how exactly Nuclear power facilities operate. There's a ton of information out there. It's not difficult to build a safe reactor these days. Back when Chernobyl and Three Mile Island happened, there was still a lot of research that needed to be done about fail safes and other precautions. Right now nuclear energy can't be topped as far as output and environmental conservation are concerned.
