I've always hated the stages of griefing (not the Alita edit, the actual psychological thing). It basically just a slow decline into defeatism. Every step cucks you harder and saps your will to fight and change further. "Acceptance" is nothing but "accepting defeat". It's bullshit, there's nothing NOTHING positive to be gained for the griefing person. It's not like people griefing at least get emotionally mature or more stable. Not true. Griefing does make you mature. It also makes you able to handle tragedy in the future much better. There's a reason people say "misery builds character". People who've had crazy shitty or stressful lives often end up being pretty calm and stoic, of course that doesn't count for everyone but yeah being exposed to bad shit generally hardens you up.

If you got a good gut feeling about the first interview and they want you right then, say yes. Your gut is usually right.

I think the sequel will cover Jashugan and Zapan's revenge, as well as Ido's quest to retrieve the Berserker body, ending on Alita being "saved" by Zalem and sent on a mission in the Badlands, on the train with her harmonica as an ending scene, setting up the final.

The third one, well, all the rest, with less things obviously because I can't see how they can fit the Barjack war, the love story, Alita's duplicates, Lou Collins, the mind fuck fight against Nova and the final on Zalem ine one movie without excluding some stuff. For the ending, I don't know if it should follow the original ending or a more open ending, leading to Last Order.

Annoying, boring, bad acting, bad cgi!

Alita offers Hugo her heart so she can be saved. He declines telling her not to just do things for people no matter how deserving she thinks they are. She replies that this is who she is, and it's all or nothing with her.

It's literally the Sacred Heart. Jesus didn't die so that a few people could be saved. He died for the sins of All. His sacrifice was unconditional and so was Alita's.

I rewatched Infinity War last night. It was long and drawn out. Every big, all the time. No tension, no buildup, no iconography, no heart, no catharsis. Just headbutting and fighting. Incredibly long and taxing. Had to skip through huge portions.

Alita feels totally different. Every scene is critical to the journey of the characters. Each scene serves to advance the story. There is very little that isn't fundamental. Great storytelling.

Well, in all fairness, the movie is arguably better than the first two volumes of the manga it is based on, but the entire manga, or just the first series, is better overall. They did fuck up a few of the plotlines (major manga SPOILERS ahead):

There might be few other things, but these are some of the main things that come to mind. Curious to see how they'll adapt the rest of the story in sequels since some of these are major plotlines and would require a lot of restructuring to make sense.

I haven't read Mars Chronicles yet but as far as the original run is concerned I don't recall any hints at how societies work on Mars. So it's safe to assume Cameron and Rodriguez went down the road of ignoring this since they probably won't adapt Last Order and Mars Chronicles.

Chiren is taken from the OAV. I agree the changes on Ido's character are debatable but they don't corrupt the whole storyline except, well, for the brain-chip. Also I don't recall any informations about Zalemians being sterile. Even Nova has a son in the manga, but maybe it is explained, I don't remember.

For the rest, Vector is not that important in the story after volume 1 and 2 so he is expandable. The pupper is not important, I agree that the treatment of Koyomi's character bother me but then again, it can be worked uppon without changing much.
The only two point I totally agree with you is that the brain-chip thing and Nova being cast out are pretty important and I don't know how they will handle that.

Don't think so. But Pacific Rim earned less on a higher budget and still got a sequel. Batman Begins only made 300something and Nolan still got to make TDK, and considering Cameron's got more clout than Nolan did then, I think the odds are good.

How did it turn out like that? I was one of those people who loved Pacific Rim but after that initial announcement for PR2 literally everything else was bad news. Del Toro leaves, Boyega is the lead even though he's completely flat in everything and seemingly no one likes him, apparently they killed off the characters people actually liked, then the first trailer hits and it looks dreadful, by the time it came out I didn't even bother to see it and I still haven't seen it because I already lost all interest.
