What's the best japanese kino?
Versus
Tetsuo: The Iron Man
Tokyo drifter
Harikiri
Battle royale
Kagemusha
Lady Snowblood & sequel.
How do you convince your normalfag friends that Battle Royale is a good movie and is actually your favorite movie? Or are they plebs beyond hope?
None meme answers?:
>Tokyo Story
>Ikiru
>Woman In The Dunes
>The Human Condition
>The Life of Oharu
>Mishima
Slap any of those on and you're good to go.
It's a good movie - I appreciate the underlying social critique of modern Japan hidden behind the action - but it might fly over someone's head if they're purely in it for the action, which is solid in its own right.
Anything Tsukamoto or Kor-eda, most Sono, some Aoyama and some Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Honourable mention to Miike.
i want to love and hold prime meiko
Meh, one of the worst Sono's, not a bad film, though.
Love Exposure. Reminder that extended cut is out, which means a good time for a rewatch even if you've already seen it.
Tokyo Gore Police
Oh, how long is it now? Eight hours? But seriously, thanks, did not know it is out.
Cliche answer but pic related or Rashomon
Shin Godzilla was vreddy good
>extended cut is out
damn, i thought it would never come out, it's at least six hours long right? I've got to find a copy
Unfortunately, only 33 minutes longer, but still better than nothing. I don't think we'll ever see the six hour original.
Yep. the second best Godzilla-movie after the 1954 original
It’s not the full length original cut. A year or two ago they aired it as a miniseries on Jap tv with some extra footage.
>chinese poster
why
One of his worst? I’d put it in his top three alongside Noriko’s Dinner Table and Strange Circus. I think Love Exposure is overrated.
China loves japan media
Who /ozu/ here?
It's incredible how his films have such a wide appeal despite his particularly "japanese" style. One of the few directors that I've never heard a bad word about.
Woman In The Dunes and The Life of Oharu really seem to have influenced certain stories in Junji Ito's manga.
Is it like this?
I used to think of Noroko's dinner table as my favourite Sono film (and one of my favourites in general). I watched it a second time and it really didn't hold up for some reason.
Seven Samurai. that or Yojimbo/Sanjuro.
my man
Kuroneko
Fighting Elegy
hana-bi
Rashomon
The Crows films touch a special place in my heart. The part I buried when I stopped watching professional wrestling.
The Human Condition
I like Zatoichi, that's a fun little thing.
Helpless (1996)
i just sell it as an action movie the plebs will watch it then and it become their favourite movie for being so deep
I got a bunch of people to watch it by telling them it's a Fortnite movie
How well did that go?
kino
they never ended up watching it and told me how good Hereditary is
