>According to a press release from Netflix, Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer are ending the series with a movie followings its fourth season. Though details are sparse, the movie will stream on Netflix, but its release date - as well as season four's release date - have not been confirmed. Netflix is also considering a limited theatrical run for the movie. In an official statement, the Duffer Brothers stated that they had "planned the ending for a while" and "in order to avoid overkill or the temptation to ride the show's success," ending with a movie after season 4 "feels right." They also confirmed that the series will remain in the 1980s.
S2 was much worse but it wasn't complete garbage. They had a lot of time to make S3 so maybe they learned from S2 mistakes.

I believe it was pitched as an anthology series like Fargo, where you explore Spookytown, USA in different time periods. Then everyone wanted to fuck the bald girl and 80s nostalgia was selling well so they kept the same cast.

Are they gonna bring back Barb?

Awesome. Genuinely looking forward to this.

Good, that means Finn won't have enough time to grow up and get ugly before it ends.

>They also confirmed that the series will remain in the 1980s. How? Most of the kids already look too old and terrible to be playing kids let alone on the big screen, Finn and Gaten are the only ones who still look fine

To be fair both season 2 only had about one movie’s length of story so probably for the better.

Basically most shows that start out intending to be a normal TV series gets better after the first season. Meanwhile shows that are really written like a miniseries usually blow their load after 1 or 2 seasons. (House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Westworld, etc.)
Kayden Lewis
That would actually change my mind and consider the series more than just stale rehash
Millie’s acting will be even worse on the big screen
Colton Jackson
It's pretty obvious it started life as a film, artificially stretched out to a season. I get it's appropriate.
Leo Ross
It's a fucking april fools joke you fucking retards.

Sadie looks absolute kino with that hair desu

This. They will all look 40 by the time this movie arrives. This shit moves so slowly anyway. You can't spread seasons out this far when the cast is primarily kids. This 4th season probably won't even hit until late 2020 with a movie (at absolute best) 2022. If it was a show about adults then yes, you could maybe do that but in this case they should have filmed the seasons much closer together and filmed the movie along with the final season. The only way it would be believable otherwise would be if they let it go into the 90s and admit the kids are teens and then young adults by the end.

If they do a movie they can set it whenever as it dosen't have to directly follow s4. When the kids go off to college, when they come back for the first time and try to stay friends, when one of them knocks someone up, or just go full IT and drag them back to Hawkins in ten years time because shits happening again.
