I don’t have dice, can someone roll for me? 1-3 I watch, 4-6 i skip.

If even 2 episodes of this aren't some form of woke SJW bullshit I will be shocked. I can't wait for MeToo episode where men are oppressed and raped by women.
Jack Hernandez
Rolled 2 (1d6)
Carter Clark
It should be exactly as you said. The original show was the 1960s equivalent to SJW.
Like “The Monsters are due on Maple Street” where Rod Serling’s narration says: “prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout of its own – for the children, and the children yet unborn”
Reminder this versions "Nightmare at 20,000 feet" replaces the ghoul on the wing with a podcast telling the character the plane is going to crash. The villain is a possessed podcast.
The average TZ episode was under 30 minutes. The only time Twilight Zone was close to an hour long was Season 4 when CBS needed to fill air-time. It's funny cause this version of the series apes the format of the same season which is widely regarded by most fans of the original series as the weakest one.

This. If you watch a lot of the old TZ episodes, it's really not that "woke". People often focus on stuff like "I Am the Night Color Me Black" & "Death's Head Revisited" for their outspoken anti-racism and anti-Nazi themes, but forget that stuff like " The Obsolete Man" & "The Jeopardy Room" portray or discuss Soviet Communism negative manner. Many episodes characterized atheism as evil. Swinger girls and other aggressively independent women are portrayed negatively. And episodes like "Still Valley" and "The Passersby" actually have rather sympathetic portrayals of the South during the Civil War.
The thing is, many of the values in the The Twilight Zone were very common in Cold War middle-America.
And before someone says "that's the point!", the whole idea was supposed to be that he was making jokes that had "political content" and turned to making jokes that were easier, but mean-spirited and directed at people who wronged him, but they didn't even bother to write actual mean or cruel jokes into the script. He just says a person's name and something that happened and then they roll their stock footage of extra laughing at the command of the director. Also, the whole that people "don't want to hear about politics" in comedy in TWENTY NINETEEN is downright retarded and completely out of touch. Anyone who has seen just a clip of Kimmel or Fallon or Oliver knows that's bullshit.
btw, did anyone catch them having Tracey Morgan vape instead of smoke?
Nicholas Brooks
Really makes you think... especially since the episode is about the Red Scare. Kind of like that play, The Crucible. Made by avowed socialist Arthur Miller... hmmm.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WHERE DO I DOWNLOAD THE EPISODES IN 1080p?!?!??!?!? PROVIDE LINKS I CANT FIND THEM ANYWHERE
The fact that Peele narrates in a pseudo-Rod Serling voice and dress makes it feel like a parody. Serling was never playing a character when he was doing his intros/outros. Heck, the original broadcasts even introduce him with "And now: Mr. Serling."
Ryder Jackson
>haha dude no one wanted a serious revival, us xers are down with the muhlennials and their ironic sense of humor

I downloaded them both. I nearly fell asleep during the comedian. 2nd episode felt like I was watching Lost (and not one of the good episodes).
Caleb Foster
The first episode also has a chick who's supposed to be the one who teases and hazes the main character. She has brilliant dialogue worthy of classic Twilight Zone like:
>"You can go ahead and suck my vagina"
and this line close to the end after giving her rival a kiss
>"If I were straight, I'd probably hook up with an Idris Elba type, but I might also throw some pussy your way."
So what's the actual spooky twist? Or is it the fact that it's a lesbian niggress who is SASSY is supposed to be spooky?
Adrian Parker
Why are episodes an hour long?
Logan Miller
The problem I have with this argument (which also gets applied to Star Trek) is that there are two opposing philosophies of what an "SJW" is. Is "progress" an unending forward journey, or an attempt to reach an ideal destination? If it's the latter, then "progressivism" becomes a form of conservatism once it's achieved it's goals. The former is an insatiable beast: once whites go extinct, light-skinned blacks and hispanics will have to answer for their "priviledge." The nobles become the bourgeoisie, and the bourgeois the kulaks. In this way the former types invariably use the latter as their foot soldiers. Commies always abuse the good intentions of liberals.

Main character is bad comedian that won't stop using his act to push his politics. Tries telling actual jokes about stuff and gets laughs, but everything he jokes about gets written out of reality. Goes insane, starts killing everyone he doesn't like via his act. In the end he tells a joke about himself and disappears. Remember to push your politics on others otherwise you're a bad person.
Christopher Bennett
shouldn't this be reality tv
Michael Brown
No!🥤
Ian Torres
The dude is a shitty comedian who wants to make politically and intellectually charged comedy but apparently in this version of 2010's America, no one is interested in political humor. He meets a famous comedian played by Tracey Morgan who somehow, someway (it's never explained how or why) gives him the power to make people disappear from time after making "jokes" about them on stage. I put "jokes" in quotes cause he doesn't really say jokes, he just says something along the lines of "hey, how about my girlfriend's nephew, huh!?" or "hey, how bout that last comedian. Wasn't she great!?" and the person disappears from history after the audience bursts out in hysterical laughter, which they never explain why these people find any of this funnier than his other bad material or whether it's part of the curse that they do. He screws everything up as he uses his power to get back at people who bullied him in high school or irritate him. He eventually makes himself disappear as penance to undo the damage, resulting in the lesbian black chick he was competing with basically taking his place and then meeting Tracey Morgan's character at the end too. I guess that's the twist.
I had no clue what the episode was trying to tell us. First the tone was that you shouldn't force politics because forcing shit isn't funny. Then it tell us that using people around you as material is evil. Then the guy disappears. I was left confused as fuck.
Mason Scott
It's horrible, made it almost 10 minutes. Thanks for the rundown. No way I'm watching all of that.

Gabriel Thomas
how is what we're experiencing NOT cultural marxism? Marxists absolutely hate the West and would love nothing more than to burn down this evil creation made by the evil white man.
>>Dude what if on Maple Street instead of Ayys it’s terrorists
The thing is, the original Maple Street was already a good allegory for terrorism. The whole thing is written in a way that the "aliens" can be a metaphor for any sort of outsider or invader people can become paranoid over: terrorists, aliens, commies, etc. So it was like the 2000's reboot totally missed the point of the episode they were paying homage to.
Of course, even Spielberg and John Landis missed the point in the same way, and Spielberg contributed to the pilot of Night Gallery. Remember Aykroyd's "You wanna see something really scary?"
Ethan Jenkins
Episode two had a really Orwellian ending.
Sebastian Thomas
That’s what I was getting at. These new versions are all too on the fucking nose and are soulless cashgrabs.
Michael Russell
I liked it until the ending. The ending was so shitty that I nearly started laughing. I mean c'mon, really? Everyone's up and able and Justin gets lynched based on what evidence? All these people know is that the guy in the cockpit did it. Justin is just a crazy asshole to them but not the culprit. Unless they're really bitter about his confused behavior on the plane.

All the remakes/reboots suffer from the same problem of reductionism. They reduce Twilight Zone to just a small handful of common tropes: twists, liberal political, spooky, racism be bad, etc.
It's hilarious how many times they've screwed up trying to remake TZ, when The Outer Limits had only one remake and that remake actually managed to last several years LONGER than the original series did.
borg episodes are shit. dont bother watching them dudes
Jack Howard
And The Outer Limits remake is really good too.
It's also full of "hey, it's that guy" actors doing one-off episodes.
Carson Flores
It works both ways tho
Noah Young
Would have rather it just been Justin who does it all and the other guy being imaginary. The ending is also stupid.
Muslim paranoia would have been a much better story.
Charles James
Kinda neat premise but overall was ass, no need for it to be an hour and keye and Peele guys narration was dumb
Aaron Jenkins
His appearance and hyper-serious narration was hilariously distracting. The whole time I was thinking he was doing a Key & Peele sketch.
Nicholas Moore
>It's also full of "hey, it's that guy" actors doing one-off episodes.
Oh, yeah, that's another thing too. All the TZ remakes seem to think "we need to put recognizable actors and celebs cause that's what the original did," but what they usually fail to remember is that a lot of the "recognizable" faces in the Twilight Zone were pretty much nobodies until they appeared on the Twilight Zone. William Shatner wasn't a big star when he starred in Nightmare at 20,000 Feet. It was stuff like Nightmare that helped make him a star. Big difference.
Yeah really, they should have just left out the narration all together. Or put it in in some ironic parade episode of the original series. Also dont think making the show MA was necessary but since this episode involved comedians I guess the swearing was fine
Nathaniel Mitchell
>The whole time I was thinking he was doing a Key & Peele sketch. The whole time I was thinking he was gonna say "That's All-State's Stand"
Making Peele the face of this reboot was a mistake when most of his acting credits are comedic shit and the fact that he’s ugly. Imagine if Joan Rivers tried to reboot this and attempted to do an affectation of Sterling that Peel is doing.

>Nightmare At 20,000 Feet
A Republican gun nut is flying for the first time since 9/11. He becomes increasingly nervous after multiple Arabs get on the plane whispering in their Arabic. The man becomes irate claiming that the arabs are planning something. With no one listening, he decides the only way to save everyone is to break into the cockpit and land the plan himself. With his 800 hours in Plane Simulator ’17 knowledge, the man successfully breaks into the cockpit, knocks out the pilots, and lands the plane safely. As he exits the plane, he finds himself surrounded by Arabs. Realizing he emergency landed in London, the man drops to his knees and screams as the episode ends.
Brody Russell
I had a similar nightmare idea too, they're even remaking it with the whole guy paranoid about muslims on the plane lol. My twist was that the white guy ends up being the bomber, he was just worried about the negative blowback on the muslim community as they would get blamed for it. >eye of the beholder Dudes in full body wraps, once unwrapped its revealed he was turned to a cis white male, while everyone else in the world doesnt conform to any gender
Juan Green
>Another user had an idea for to serve man where black guys "serve" whiteys, as in a dance off kek
The muslim angle was a swerve though. The episode barely touches on it. Like that Beholder idea, this was mine.
>Eye of the Beholder A woman wrapped in bandages is shown in a hospital bed. Doctors and hospital staff discuss her condition and talk about how lucky she is to be alive. Through the episode you never see anyone’s face until the end. The shadowy doctors remove the woman’s bandages to show a beautiful blonde woman. Light fills the room as you see all the doctors in the room. Each one big and black, the blonde woman screams in horror as the black men stare at the camera and smile.
Justin Taylor
Yeah that remake is particularly egregious. The whole point of the episode wasn't that it was aliens, it was that vigilance that strays into paranoia is ultimately self defeating which is a very Sterling aesop with him being a liberal but also anti-communist.
Ryan Rodriguez
Didnt realize the Nightmare episode was out, just thought it was the Comedian, may check it. Lol yeah, kinda saw that Blacked twist happening. Had some other ideas for remakes >time at last Deals with a girl obsessed with social media but after NK nukes us she finally has time to go through it all, but noone to share anything with. >its a good life A boy with an orange face, funny hair, and a short temper tweets at all those he dislikes. If you see where this is going. Ultimately all Mexicans, muslims, gays, etc get banished
Logan Reed
All the episodes take place in the same universe for some reason. Probably to mask the fact that the writing is weak.

>The Invaders. A stronk black women finds tiny white men dressed as astronaut’s (and presumably Russian) in her house and proceeds to kill them. While she does this, she repeatedly says phrases such as “I don’t need no prince honey, mmmmhmmmm” and slides her head back and forth while simultaneously making sassy expressions. She spends the last ten minutes frying one of the men with a magnifying glass while bursting with laughter. However, as she looks closer in the magnifying glass she notices that the Russian soldiers are actually members of President Trump’s Space Force. The black woman looks into the camera and says “Meh, same thing” and continues frying the tiny man.

I’m not a Nazi though. I’m not against obvious shit you should comment on occasionally. But social commentary wasn’t the entire basis of the show. Plus, SJW’s just divide people and make America a shitty place to live. The Twilight Zone welcomed everyone and never blamed anyone outright for certain issues.
So... I liked the Comedian one. However, I think the new Terror at 3000 feet is a bit weak.
For one, the podcast that predicts the future says that what happened on flight 1015 was a mystery. But then it's revealed that everyone on the plane lived, so how could it be a mystery? I suppose it could be explained that the part 2 podcast was a follow up for when the crew was all found, but there are still inconsistencies.
Like, all passengers and crew lived, but they still all got super pissed enough to kill the reporter? I think maybe that was a bit extreme. Also, the pocast says that it was a mystery what happened to the reporter, but a lot of people envolved themselves in the reporters murder so I doubt that all of them would have stayed quiet about that.
It's interesting to have a story about a guy hearing about his own death and trying to stop it, but I saw the self fulfilling prophecy twist coming a mile away. I still think the original Terror at 3000 feet is superior.
One of the reasons why the original episode is so good is because the view is left wondering about the truth. Was the mosnter real, or was it just the man's imagination? It's very open ended. But in this newer version the truth is just outright stated. It was literally just a self fulfilling prophecy. He tried to stop the crash and ended up causing it. No real mystery about it.
I should say that for being produced by a black dude, this sure felt like a white girl majoring in gender studies at Cal-State University's take on the Twilight Zone formula.
Zachary Flores
>a white girl majoring in gender studies at Cal-State University's take on the Twilight Zone

Why is his ugly mug on all the promotional material I've seen?
For some reason, the industry has decided he's the next Shyamalan with Get Out being his Sixth Sense. Also, the only reason anyone is really giving this remake a chance is cause his name is attached to it. It's also why he's the narrator since CBS think of him as a public figure on par with Serling for some reason.
Matthew Ortiz
Black people truly are taking over.
Carson Torres
but see, i am not going to watch anything he makes, produces or even friends or friends of his friends makes or produces or is slightly involved in, so it is kind of a failure on their part
these shitty projects have succeeded in one thing, though, it has made me not want to watch anything modern, there is an almost endless backlog of pre-1950's media that i can and will go through.
in that same vein, I've been watching TOS star trek for the first time and have fallen in love.

>>The first two episodes both arrive on April 1, and they are just awful. “Nightmare at 30,000 Feet” threemakes the paranoid tale of a man going in-flight crazy. William Shatner and John Lithgow starred in the previous versions, and I hope they’ll forgive Adam Scott for his part in this abomination. Instead of a nightmarish gremlin, Scott’s tormented by (sigh) a podcast predicting his own deadly future.

A 1950s show being anti-Nazi isn't even leftist by any means, the US just fought the Nazis a decade prior so every American naturally hated them. Being "anti-Nazi" today is cringe and SJW because nazis haven't existed in many decades so you're basically just fighting shadows.

>It's interesting to have a story about a guy hearing about his own death and trying to stop it, but I saw the self fulfilling prophecy twist coming a mile away. I still think the original Terror at 3000 feet is superior.
This, I genuinely had an idea for a Twilight Zone story, one where a man can accurately predict when and how the people around him are going to die, however if he went and saved those people from dying he'd never know when they'll die next nor would he know the cause of death. So he decides to let them go about their lives without letting them know about their deaths otherwise they'd be paranoid for the rest of their lives.
Then at some point, he becomes invested in this girl he likes, knows when she's going to die but know has to decide whether to save her or let her fate be sealed. He chooses to save her but in the process he gets himself killed because the protag never knew his cause of death until now...sacrificing himself to save the girl he loved.
Also Final Destination already fucked this idea over and over again for like 5 movies
Ethan Thomas
>So he decides to let them go about their lives without letting them know about their deaths otherwise they'd be paranoid for the rest of their lives. why would the people he saves be paranoid?
Matthew King
>just days after every journalist is sucking peele off for being the next fucking genius he completely ruins his image by being the face of this piece of shit boy i bet he really regrets signing on for this
because if he knew EXACTLY when and how they were going to die, they'd act like schizos and do whatever means necessary to keep themselves alive and not die from anything fatal, be it a physical accident, a health problem, etc.
The story's based on how people google certain health problems they've had whether they're muscles are aching, their chest hurts, kidneys acting up, etc. And the moment they find the cause of that problem, all of a suddent they're hit with major problems saying "YOU COULD BE DYING FROM BRAIN TUMORS, LIVER CANCER, PROSTATE!" or they find out certain foods give you too much cholesterol and can increase your risk of heart failure, and then they freak out and try to change their diet and health plan ASAP so it doesn't happen to them so soon.
I think we are all paranoid people and we want to live for as long as possible, that's why we try to maintain our health so we can live to to be over 100 years old, and reproduce so that our kin can continue our legacy. Basically existential crap.

many people die from different causes of death, sometimes 3 or 4 people can die within the same day but the man won't have time to save them all. Also whatever it is people die from will never happen until years from now so there would be no point in rescuing them on the day that death is supposed to happen.

This show really ain't that bad. The political overtones are only frustrating because they are relevant and politics is tiring.
