The movie starts with the First Order on the brink of defeat. The crawl explains that Luke Skywalkers sacrifice inspired the galaxy and the First Order has splintered into subfactions.
The first act involves Rey, Poe, Finn and Rose fighting against Kylo with the help of Richard E Grant, who is another First Order General.
Kylo is revealed to be Hux wearing the glued together mask. Kylo has gone missing
in act 2, Poe and Finn go to liberate a Stormtrooper brainwashing camp now the war is over. Rey goes to look for Kylo with advice from Leia and Lando. Kylo is being pursued by a bounty hunter. He fights them off whilst talking to himself. It becomes clear he is talking to Luke and Anakin. They are guiding Kylo to look for something. He and Rey meet up.
Poe and Finn recieve intel from REG. They meet up with Finn's sister, who Poe flirts with. Mainly these are action scenes where Stormtroopers switch sides and stuff.
Rey and Kylo are guided back to Ach-To by Luke, and taken into the dark cave. As they move through, they have visions. They see a Young Luke fight with Snoke, and Luke explains that Snoke is able to possess people with the Force. Luke had trapped him in Snoke's body, but Kylo killing him set him free and gave him his full power. Rey and Kylo need to combine the dark and light to defeat him, but they need training from Anakin to bring balance to each other.
In act 3, it turns out REG is possessed by Snoke. He activates 'Order 2-66' and the Stormtroopers are all set to wipe out the Republic. Good guys fight bad guys, free the Strom Troopers from evil control, that sort of junk.
Anakin gives Rey and Kylo some lessons in philosophy (It is not what you do, but why you do it. Make sure you are honest with yourself about why you are doing things, yada yada).
Snoke's true Body (Matt Smith) has awoken from the cave, and they take the fight to the temple.Kylo is btfod and his lightsaber destroyed. Rey fights Snoke for a minute or two whilst Kylo has a dream sequence where he makes up with Luke. As Rey is about to be killed, Kylo leaps in to help her with Luke's green saber. They overcome the baddie but head into the cave.
The epilogue reveals that Poe leas the new new republic, Finn is responsible for helping reintegrate the Strom Troopers. Rey and Ben have not been heard from, but Rey visits Finn and Poe. She explains that she has become more than human, and a part of the force, alongside Kylo and the Skywalkers. She teleports away, and Rey, Kylo and Luke are seen walking through mists whilst Anakin, Obi and Yoa watch over them.
All in all, it focuses on action rather than attempting to tie things together, with only cursory attempts to make things make sense. They thought that it was safer to do a movie with lots of battles, and fan nods than it was to try and have some deep story. Maybe they are right.

Abrams literally called the planet Luke was on Act Two. I don't expect much of him, desu.

>Anakin gives Rey and Kylo some lessons in philosophy And from this point forward, the movie gets derailed by discussions of symbolic logic and the compatibility of free will and determinism.
>Episode VII ends with the First Order's superweapon destroyed and the galaxy pissed at them >They start Episode VIII as the force in power immediatly after and no one opposes them
>Episode VIII ends with the resistance defeated >Episode IX starts with the First Order on the brink of defeat
I know this is fake but I could believe that insanity.
