I watched this the first time I smoke weed and it was a great, confusing experience. I'm going to download it now and rewatch it tomorrow. Thanks user. inb4 dudeweedlmao

Peak kino is Cruise crucifying his death bed father Robards in Magnolia.

it's kinda dated to the early 2000s but still based

Magnolia is fucking based and so is eyes wide shut, but vanilla sky has something special about it.

Tom Cruise is pretty much always kino. Tom Cruise films are at the very worst OK.

Tom Cruise isn’t a composer you fucking retard

even the soundtrack is knio.except that Paul McCartney song

SHOW ME THE MONEY is peak cruise kino idiot

A cool detail is how they didn't use CGI in the opening sequence, they actually shut down Times Square. Love this movie.

it's one of my favorite intros of all time

Ubik plagiarism?

More of a Paz Vega guy.

Do yourself a favor and watch the original, Open Your Eyes, its also really good and has penelope cruz in her same role.

You ever put it into perspective?
You live in a timeline where Tom Cruises exists, and has blessed mankind with KINO

Seconded, i don't like Vanilla Sky because it's the same film with american actors (plus, as you stated, Cruz in the same fucking role) without anything new and original added.

What's with the deus ex machina ending with the little guy that explains everything? And then leave it with an ambiguous ending. I just assume he wakes up for real and lives in the future. I hate the theory that his dreamworld resets but he doesn't know.

Every movie with this kind of existential "is life a dream", or sci fi which focuses on the nature of consciousness etc, all borrow heavily from Philip k dick. The guy is the most undercredited author in history, imo. Most people don't even know who he is, yet everyone knows who jk Rowling is. This is why I hate humanity. But I digress.

While pkd was indeed excellent, borderline genius, and something of a prophet, he wasn't the first to spawned those kinds of ideas. That kind of "is anything real" existential philosophising has existed since at least as far back as ancient Greece.

and unironically that's a good thing. it was one of the last 00s movies that was produced before 9/11 and it's full of that end of history ennui we lost.

Based Stones BTFO Paul (Beatles). Such a great song from them.
