How the hell are people able to watch movies without subtitles? I can barely keep up understanding what people are saying for more than a few seconds at once

Not everyone has autism like you user

It's not that I can't keep up. I can't hear them too well.

Benefits of being an anglo

This.

I try to turn the volume up to hear what the fuck they're saying, then a fucking loud bang ass noise happens killing my fucking ears.

>turn volume up so i can hear what they're saying
>all sound effects are 10 times louder than the voices so the movie is suddenly too fucking loud

poor NEETS with shitty home theater sound or you DL yify releases

exactly my problem lmao

What if I just wanna watch something on TV tho

Did you seriously make a thread about not being able to understand spoken words?

Non english speaker here, this is exactly my problem. But I generally never have this problem with tv shows.

most tv shows are in 5.1 now, if you have good speakers set up right you should understand what everyone is saying

Normies don't have white noise generators so they can hear everything. A really pathetic state of affairs

I gave up on trying to understand every word of dialogue. The lazy producers will mumble words on purpose to make their edits easier. They'll dub a word in and fuzz it to cover up. The average viewer isn't supposed to understand it and just let it go.
Subtitles aren't much better. They aren't designed for people who can hear well and are fluent in the language. They're often noticeably wrong.

I only watch films with subtitles because I space out and don't pay attention otherwise

based

>it's just your audio set up dude
hahahahaha

aye can't read

aye can't read

aye can't sneed

Cringe

I only use subtitles for mumblecore like true detective and Tom hardy movies. Honestly mumbling through your lines and failing to properly enuciate and project your voice should warrant a reshoot. I fucking hate how so many American filmmakers seem to tolerate or encourage mumbling quickly and quietly through normal conversations.

What is wrong with you?

I recently watch the Alien movies for the first time and to have subtitles on for each. Is it honestly that fucking hard to get a competent sound editor? Make the dialogue AT LEAST the same level as everything else, not lower.

OP, if you have this problem with anything you watch, you have crap equipment or hearing loss.

only times i've used subtitles for kino:
1. if its foreign.
2. when theres one line in particular that ive always misheard and i want to finally put it to rest what the fuck the actor is saying.
3. kenneth branagh's hamlet.

hey bro prepare to get farted on

>Matthew McConaughey

the fuckers just barely open their mouths when they speak now

how can anyone watch movie with subtitles, you inevitably read ahead and ruin all tension and pacing for the entire film

Sometimes I pay more attention to the subtitles than what's going on the screen. So I feel like I'm missing milliseconds.

>someone says something to me
>I totally didn’t hear them but I just smile and say, “yeah, that’s true” and it usually works and they keep talking

how do white noise generators make you hear everything?
