Who the fuck is this? It's not "obviously" Pazuzu, Pazuzu has the face of a fucking dog.
Exorcist 1973
That's Pazuzu in human form, retard.
at long last, he had finally become the Exorcist
Pazuzu's true form appears multiple times in Regan's room, what is the meaning of him appearing as a floaty albino head?
>maybe the real exorcist were all the pre-teen girls we fumbled along the way
Seriously Blatty?
That’s my cum face
Is the first Evil Dead basically an Exorcist tribute?
The single scariest frame in cinematic history.
Why did pazuzu possess that girl and not the other millions of people that were sad?
Half Exorcist, half Night of the Living Dead.
HEE HEE
Underrated
still to this day the best paced kino ever. theatrical cut that is.
It was fate because
-Pazuzu wanted to test Karras' faith
-Regan was close by and contacting evil spirits with a ouija board
Demons can shapeshift.
to scare you, what a retarded question
Wait which Papa Emeritus is this one?
>Pazuzu has the face of a fucking dog.
That's just a statue carved by ancient subhuman sandniggers. Pazuzu is a being beyond the physical plane.
Who is he shapeshifting for? For what purpose? Those appearances aren't even visible for the characters.
lmaooooo
mustve something to do with it being a movie
That is not an answer.
for people with an iq above 80 it sure is
Cringe
I know The Exorcist is a movie. But the question is: from whose viewpoint is the movie showing us these things? The prologue in Iraq is from Merrin's. Georgetown has multiple viewpoint, mainly Karras' and the mother's. But the flashes are visually disconnected from the scenes they have been edited into, since the face appears in black nothingness.
Sumeria was the most advanced place on earth at the time
We're viewing the movie from the viewpoint of ourselves, the audience, you fucking autist.
Did you also have a panic attack when you heard music in the credits and didn't see a radio on-screen?
I also understand the difference between diegetic and non-diegetic music.
You may be too stupid for films.
Movies don't have to be taken literally
Pazuzu protects kids from demons;
I think it is implied that by excavating that site they disturbed a demon but it wasn't pazuzu
You may be too autistic for films.
nice try faguzu
Exorcist 2 isn't canon.
Contrarian opinion:
I don't find The Exorcist scary. At all. I watched it with 13 and found it boring as fuck. Rewatched it with 28 or so and found it good, but not scary at all. I just don't get the people creaming their pants about HURR PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR N SHIET. Maybe you have to be a girl to "get" it.
For the protocol, my favorite horror films are:
>Alien
Perfect atmosphere, I am a huge scifi fan
>Halloween
Dread, just constant dread. The mask silently appearing from the darkness, Myers in the background foreshadowing, the complete absence of any meaning of his action
>Night of the Living Dead
The zombie daughter and her dad in the basement, group dynamics in critical situations
>Carrie
I was an outsider, too. I get school shooters. I feel for Carrie.
>The Thing
Perfect atmosphere, huge scifi fan, excellent effects
That said, apart from Halloween (which had surely made me literally shit my pants had I seen it back then in the theater) I didn't find any of those particularly scary, either.
All your favorite "horror" films are gay-ass basedcore movies my man.
Psychologically it's intended to make you feel spooped
It's not about taking it literally. I'm asking why does the demon appear in human form if it's supposed to be Pazuzu who until that point has only been depicted as a dog-faced chimera. It's not revealing itself to any of the characters. If anything the shots imply that it's the demon, who is watching the characters. So why that specific form? Why does Friedkin want to show us this?
I agree, those are really good based movies :)
Movies don't have to be taken literally
Why are you asking me to stop trying to understand the movie?
>Movies don't have to be taken literally
>what is the meaning of him appearing as a floaty albino head?
Le one frame scare jump
Nice blog. Nice entry level taste
Don't try to argue with /pol/tard
It's really not that effective.
Recommend advanced taste pl0x.
That's not Michael Clayton.
Eileen Dietz. A 2 second Google search could've told you this. Anyway, that was test makeup for Reagan. It was going to be an all-white face, but they went for the blue/grey and cuts instead.
Pazuzu has the face of a lion.
>anything i don't like is /pol/
the thing might be the most overrated movie of all time desu
reading imdb trivia on this film is amazing
No its not.
that's captain howdy
I had a similar reaction desu. I laughed the whole movie, it was like a slapstick comedy episode where the cat tries to kill the mouse but he just keeps failing in hilarious ways, pretty much the same setup. She is reminiscent of bugs bunny or Jerry or the roadrunner. She even has the little “I actually got away!” moment at the end. All they were missing was for the frame to shrink into circle and then have the demon come into frame and wink at the camera before it goes to full black
>theatrical cut that is.
what do you mean?
Look, this was before you could freeze frame a movie. You're not actually supposed to see the face. it was supposed to be a subconscious scare
Captain Howdy
Yes, it was. Remember Reagan being tested. Pazuzu appears and she opens her eyes really wide. She saw him.
Not even fucking bismuth is this edgy.
floaty head is watching you fap
That does make sense, I must've missed Regan's reaction because it's so quick.
>is obviously not Pazuzu
>is Pazuzu
What did >you mean by this?
He wanted to show that the demon was a shapeshifter (motif of it being a liar, deciever) that was always leering. In the book Regan makes various animal noises. I see it as kind of like that.
>Reagan
Nagaer?
Underrated.
it is
Barfing on people is objectively slapstick comedy. stop getting offended because you got scared when you were 12, grandpa
Good explanation. It's probably just manifesting itself in a human-ish form, Rags could probably see that face sometimes when she was possessed.
the true shapeshifting was the frens we made along the way
SHAMONE
>go see anniversary release of exorcist
>fat fuck zoomers giggle at every scene
is it a mental disability with tweens where they just laugh at shit thats not funny?
Is it hard for demons to possess people? Why do they do it? You'd think they'd do it more often.
Maybe I'm just a retarded zoomer, but I still don't see how this movie is scary. It's good, don't get me wrong, but certainly not scary.
>YOUR MOTHER SUCKS COCKS IN HELL
Was it true?
>Is it hard for demons to possess people?
yes and no. Mostly because demons don't exist.
>Is it hard for demons to possess people?
people pretend to be possessed for attention.
>You'd think they'd do it more often.
surprisingly the only people that tend to get possesed are people that already believed in the religion! And they're always possessed by their own religious figures! No Hindus have been possessed by Abrahamic Demons! No Abrahamics have been possessed by Eastern demons!
tide goes in
tide goes out
cant assplain it
Have sex
It was meant to be Regan's final form but got cut.
Pazuzu actually had the head of a cat, the sound of the south wind that brought disease was the yowling of Pazuzu and the beating of its wings
Literally the only civilisation on Earth at the time and this fat fucking failure of a neet is trying to call them out
>Nigger nigger nigger
>"Go back to /pol/"
>HURR HOW DO YOU KNOW I'M EVEN /pol/
It is meant to add a level of realism. Older people are less likely to be scared of some freakish FX than a real human face.
