Atheism is simply denying the existence of deities. Nothing more, nothing less. There's no doctrine, there's no holy text, there's no moral requirements, it's simply choosing to not believe in any deities.

Atheism is a religion and religion is bad!" as if they believe they have a hail-mary argument that "defeats" atheism, when all it's nothing more than another desperate attempt to confirm your biases.

As someone who has been an atheist for decades (never went to church even though my parents were "christians.") and was never indoctrinated into any religious cult, being an atheist is such a small part of my life that it's nearly meaningless. I rarely if ever think about religion, or deities, or atheism in general because it's completely unimportant to my life. The entire concept of religious deities is so absurd and moronic that it's not worth giving any additional thought, it's something for the infantile-minded masses *tips fedora*

I don't think I've ever encountered an atheist coming to my door trying to "convert" me to their "religion," but I have fucking Jehovah's witnesses knock on my door and roam around my neighborhood every month.

People have a right to believe whatever they want to believe, you choose to be an atheist, whereas with many religions you have no choice at all because it's what you were born into, for example being born in Pakistan almost assures you're indoctrinated from an infant into Islam, and if you leave the religion at best you're ostracized from your family forever, and at worst you're murdered for blasphemy by radical extremists or the government itself.
