The Death Star attack is fantastic.

I don't know, there's a lot of details in it I love. The way the radio chatter sounds as they approach and when you hear the pilots comms in the command room, the fact that Red Leader took the shot initially but missed (I think a lot people forget that), the fact that Wedge is only able to actually lock on to a tower near the exhaust port and not the exhaust port itself, the look of grim resignation back on Yavin when Luke tells everyone it's fine he's turned his targeting computer.

Just the tension through the whole thing. I love it. Neither the PT nor the ST have come close to capturing anything like it.

To add too, the shots for the pilots are great and help make them better supporting characters. Again, not a thing in any of the others. There's a reason why people know Wedge and not any other asshole in the PT/ST

The score is also one of the most overlooked aspects of this movie that really cements a lot of the emotional aspects.

The sun's setting, the imperial March, The awards ceremony. Even during the deathstar run with the quick breaks it just catapults the action in to the stratosphere as far as impact. Hell the cantina music sounds so weird and funky you don't feel like it's some cheesy disco sound track.

I love the tension it builds, how absolutely everything boils down to Luke hitting that exhaust port - Not only in order to destroy the Empires new super weapon, but also to save the rebel alliance headquarters from being blown up, saving Leia as she’s on that planet, and saving Luke himself as he’s being hunted by tie fighters travelling down the trench, and it all comes right down to the last second or so. It’s one of my most favourite scenes in a movie.

The perfect flick, and responsible for the state of modern cinema, and indeed America.

Greatest opening scene. Hands down.
