why do you type like a roastie? disgusting

because you're already so upset that anything i post you'll just call trash. you're not in the right mindset to judge. when you've calmed down i might post it.

you sound insecure and underage, don't bother posting.

chill out. no need to get so angry because you have the taste of a homosexual 15 year old.

i haven’t posted my list in this thread. i’m just pointing out your autism. at least keep an eye on the number of IPs ITT, or stop embarrassingly emulating confidence.

why are you so angry?

doubling down won't help you save face.

calm down dude. there's no need to embarrass yourself like this. just say sorry and move on bro.

Same. Too depressed to get into anything with a human face

I don't play any instrument and was never in band. I was introduced to him through an old friend and I never heard anything like it. Changed my perspective on music ever since.

Unlike Yea Forums we don't just "+" with the name of the album we like or whatever, we give a rating combined with the number of the films we've seen. 5 films on the list with 4/5 I liked 4 of the 5 films, 5 films on the list with 3/4 I liked 3 of the 4 films I've seen on the list.

I wish I was like you

Yea Forums does the same thing, it's not rocket science

nobody knows what albums those are

ok. well im suprised youve seen seen and heard everything from those lists

Hukkelberg, she's pretty mediocre with the bland generic euro-pop, could do a lot better.

youtu.be/dLM5CvWoddk

not melodic but nice still

Fair enough, I think she brings a comfy tone, the last track on that album is mesmerizing.

NeveroddoreveN actually really matches Buffalo 66. Now I need to rewatch it FUCK

what film and album did you not like here:

Fucking boomer neets

Y Tu Mama because I turned it off after the first 10 minutes, and Future, because fuck niggers.

Next time start with a template

Good music taste, you should watch more movies.

what kind of retard hasn't heard of rush

The Shining
Mulholland Dr
El Topo
Mutiny on the Bounty (1962)
Bridge on the River Kwai

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Beatles White Album
Hissing Fauna Are You The Destroyer?
Walter Murphy Fifth of Beethoven

Yeah I don't give a shit about music. Stopped listening to new stuff in 2009 and only listen really care for 60's rock and classical now.

Like what? Only movie on my watchlist right now is There Will Be Blood

yea but all I know is moving pictures and hempispheres

Has anyone reached that point where you've seen all the great movies, listened to all the great songs, and played all the great vidya already? For the last two years I haven't enjoyed anything new I've tried because I've already experienced all the greats already. Going back and rexperiencing everything is the only way but even then its like a hollow shallow revisit of the first time you ever experienced it.

I can only play KOTOR, ME series, Fallout series, half-life etc etc so many times. I can only watch Yea Forums's top 100 and imdb's fav 100 so many times. I can only listen to the same 1,000 songs so many times. I think I'm reaching the end bros.

Nothing new that comes out is good anymore. I feel like the last great movie we've experienced was LOTR. Everything since then has been overproduced, overpolitical, minorityshipping, artless trash aside from a couple gems in the rough here and there.

Music is the same, overproduced dogshit besides the few rappers that remain true to themselves, but even then they always sell out and their albums become overedited, overproduced, soulless garbage.

Video games, jfc don't get me started. There's no art to them anymore. Like fuck. The last good series to come out was mass effect and even then they fucked it up beyond recognition.

What is going? Fuck dude. I can't take it anymore.

366weirdmovies.com/

I bet you've seen less than a quarter of the films on this list you plebe

fuck dude r u me

Try Sans Soleil by Chris Marker
>Hissing Fauna
Based. My favorite Of Montreal album despite all his fans claiming it was bad.

Jesus, i can smell your BO from here

I'd say about 60%, you underestimate how much of my life I spend watching movies and playing vidya. Out of that list I enjoyed maybe 20% of those and really really liked 5%, enough where I'd want to watch it a second time. Those for the most part aren't the greats though, they're really good movies don't get me wrong, but they're mostly the type that pseuds enjoy promoting to seem original and quirky. I enjoyed watching most of that stuff but it just isn't even half as enjoyable as say going back and watching there will be blood or terminator 2 for the 30th time, because they're interesting and change your perspetive and thinking, but they're not the greats.

You need to go have some irl experiences don't worry about media getting boring you're bored with your own life.

feel free to name any (that arent on the Yea Forums top lists I've seen all those) and I'll tell you if I've seen it

I have terrible social anxiety and paranoia that debilitates me from enjoying anything around strangers, my mind basically forces me to stay in my apartment all day its hard to explain

It is not so easy for me to get to such places. I have no car and taxis/ubers are very awful experiences for me (stranger + enclosed space), not to mention walking on the street or public transportation.

I watched Hana-Bi recently and I didn't feel it the first time around tbqh. The weird modern art segments felt pointless.

It felt like the kind of movie I'd appreciate more on a rewatch but the first time around it was a slog. I didn't like it in the same way I like other slow-burn Asian movies like anything by Tsai Ming Liang.

You might like Jefferson Airplane

It’s amazing, I’ve just recently gotten into yes and close to the edge is definitely my favorite of theirs so far

I haven’t seen The Sacrifice yet, but even though all his other movies are godlike, Mirror is my favorite too

Shit taste in film

Would be way too afraid of ever getting caught, delusional paranoia is a bitch. Like I know I don't have a stalker, but my brain takes over and in that scenario would probably convince somebody had a keystroker on my laptop or that LE was monitoring my online activities. I had an episode one time just because I accidentally clicked on a ed edd and eddy stream on youtube and was afraid I'd get a fine for pirating or something like that.

Ordering LSD online would not be good.

Pretentious as shit. You haven’t even seen 5% of all the good movies ever made or listened to 1% of all the good music ever made.

what a fucking defective piece of shit you are

Yea Forums has fucking terrible taste. Its all gay shit.

Godawful except for The Thing which is Carpenter's third best film

Thanks for the r8 m8. Which 3 of the movies and 4 of the albums did you agree with?

>you will never be 8 driving home from the theaters with your dad as he tells you all about the stuff you didn't get after watching LOTR for the first time, asking him gandalf couldn't touch the ring, why the ring turns people invisible, how gandalf can summon eagles, why mithril is so light and strong, why dwarves and elves hate each other, then you fall alseep and you wake up as he's carrying you inside to bed but you don't wake up because you love being tucked in still

Attached: 1313210103001.png (500x452, 71K)

Ty

Sometimes I go looking on Yea Forums for interesting shit to listen to, and almost every time I load up an album from there it turns out to be pretentious, obnoxious and/or incomprehensible shit.

I love The Beatles, Kwai, Godfather and The Thing but holy shit everything else is absolute dogshit

pls no bully
oh yeah? I spend 12-14 hours a day everyday consuming new different movies, vidya, audiobooks and musica, try me puciboi
Yes I've seen those all except vanilla sky and lost horizon I'll put those on the docket, I really enjoy all the riddick films, vin is a really charismatic actor. Sin City is really good too I might rewatch that tomorrow. The other ones are pretty okay

Just an hero already, we're sick of listening to you cry about how you can't go outside. You are so fortunate to have the life you do and you're just a broken defective trash subhuman.

It’s been a while since I’ve watched it so I can’t remember everything too well. The things I liked were the camera shots, homely scenes (such as the sea scene and modern art stuff), and soundtrack. I think the pace and progression of the plot might’ve been a bit awkward. Kitano’s films are odd, he likes to cast himself as a tough lead character that goes around inciting chaos and violence.

Even if you do spend 12-14 hours a day on media, you’d have to be thousands of years old to have seen every great movie and have listened to every great album. And why do you type like a 17 year old zoomer?

What do you like user I will give recs

Savage me mates

That’s like, your opinions.. man..

Not crying just explaining, I've come to terms with it a long time ago, only thing I'm sad about it is running out of great media to consume. Plus the only one that seems to have a problem with it is you fajit, its easy to say life is a blessing when you don't need three different types of meds to prevent your own mind from convincing you you have a whole family that lives in your head that you can only talk to telepathically and that they'd kill you if they every manifested in front of you

Good list. You ever seen Demons? It has Accept on the soundtrack. It rules.

...

exactly how many great movies do you think there are? your standard must be pretty or you must be really bad at math. The 17 year old zoomer thing is completely unnecessary ad homineming on your part tho to be tbhonest

Your movies are fine, but I find your taste in music repulsive.

I loved when that was my whole Star Wars universe. Just those 3 VHS tapes that I still have. I refuse to watch A New Hope and ROTJ on DVD. Empire was the only recut that improved the film.

There are tens of thousands of good movies and probably hundreds of thousands of good albums.

Thats all kinda gay shit so you should probably just listen to Bolt Thrower until your testes drop.

You mean ~95% of grown up adults should be hung? Metal is for outcast, obeise high schoolers.

That’s still a 3/5 for movies and 2/5 for albums :)

Not the other anons but the point is that entertainment/art/whatever shouldn't be approached as a chore to just be consumed in the hope that it'll give you fleeting pleasure; you need to analyze the what that art set out to do, how it did it, how well it did it, and how that shapes your understanding in relation to other works and your own understanding and place in life. If you just consume things (even good things) with the sole hope that it'll somehow manifest into a life-changing experience you'll never be satisfied by it.

Nice. If you're into prog, also check out Genesis' early album, in particular Selling England by the Pound

Yes I definitely mean we should hang 95 percent of adults. Easy listening faggots.

This is a very good post and perspective.

I love metal til the singer opens his mouth.
I actually have several albums that had the vocals removed. Why is it that 99% of Metal bands have shit singers?

I'm borderline schiz not autistic/retarded.

I'd say between 1000-1500 great movies yes. In terms of music maybe, but there's a reason why I'm here and not on Yea Forums

I totally get what you're saying. In terms of watching movies its not for pleasure or as a chore, its mainly a way to experience new things for me. I don't have any goals or anything. Maybe that all came across wrong in my previous posts.

My main gripe is that there are plenty of movies that aren't great movies, but people say they are because they accomplish a very specific motif or niche in the art of filmmaking. I can appreciate that, but that by itself doesn't make a movie great, or at least it shouldn't, but many people on here make it out like it should.

In the end, everyone has movies they really like, but that doesn't mean they're one of the greats. A lot of people on this board have a problem with accepting that though sometimes

God it's so embarrassing when people are obviously trying to make their favorite film list be "interesting" and uncommon

The fact you care about this is ludicrous

The only reason that anyone could even be tricked into thinking Tarantella is a good director is they either haven't seen many movies or they got tricked after he started using one of the best cinematographers working today, who previously worked on some really good movies, so it gives his movies the veneer of being cinematic, but there's not a single original bone in his body

man i haven't thought about this album in fucking YEARS. unironically one of the most depressing albums i've ever heard. wtf britian?

you are just uneducated

are you roleplaying Mr. Robot or something?

It's not hard, especially for a film nerd like Tarantino, to look at movies and go "ooh I like the look of that, I wanna work with that" especially given how much freedom he gets through Weinstein
When you watch his movies, when he isn't directly ripping off older movies' shots and scenes, he still does flat mid shots or wide shots of flatly-lit, stageplay arrangements where the entire scene will be dialogue with serviceable editing
His only acceptable purpose is to be used as a way of getting into movies because of what he rips off being good, to take him seriously in any capacity as a talent or auteur is an insult to people capable of their own styles
The most egregious offense he's committed in my opinion is still his autistic insistence on using film on his movies, particularly hateful 8, which had 65mm ultra widescreen western format, but the entire film was indoor dialogue scenes
He barely knows what he's doing outside of being "competent" and working with people more talented than he is

I mean, the only similarities are the schizo and the fact we both work with computers? I bet I could take any two traits about you and find a similar main character to you too

You're heavily critiquing his use of shots and formatting though, as if that's all that makes a movie, when everyone knows his main draws and strongpoints are dialogue, character development/exposition and flow, of which I highly doubt you'd be so ready to denounce.

His strong insistence on 65mm film for hateful 8 was definitely autistic but you're acting like they spent the whole movie in the cabin when it really wasn't. There were tons of panning exterior shots and landscape scenes to justify its use. Even if it wasn't needed 90% of the time it was still nice to have it for the other 10.

First off you hyper-pseud, only newfags don't know that the auto default to saying LOTR is fellowship unless specified, which is certainly a top 10 of its decade by any metric.

yuck get out my thread. i know all the films on my list are amazing, i’m secure in my taste and it’s a fun thread, but you’re literally basic bitch intro to being a 15 year old pretentious faggot.

Duuude nice, Barton is tight. I put down MMT too, seems like we have pretty similar tastes

generic "good taste" picks

you sound like a fag

>people like good things
Woah

I like those movies too, but if you don't have at least one movie that isn't a top 250s I assume your taste is borrowed.

3/5 of those movies aren’t in top 250 what are you talking about?

Really? You're going to pull one of those?
"what are you talking about user I don't understand?"
You know exactly what I'm saying and you also know I'm right, which is why you're being intentionally retarded and difficult.

Are you braindead? 3/5 of those movies aren’t even 250. Do you really think every good movie with an inch of notoriety is 250 and shouldn’t be praised?

>I can only think literally
>if someone says a movie is a "top 250s movie" i take them completely literally
>one time when my friend said he was gonna kill me i killed him first

>Do you really think every good movie with an inch of notoriety is 250 and shouldn’t be praised?
are you a goldfish?

what's the one the right? can't read it

>every movie I don’t consider obscure enough is 250
Embarrassing

top taste, altho MGMT’s recent album was kinda average imo

It's not the obscurity aspect. It's the fact that every single pick (including the music) is a very generic "I'm a 16 year old film buff and this is my favourite movie" pick.
How do you not know this? Am I wasting my time arguing with a 16 year old?

>film

>music
Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon

>Slint - Spiderland
>Animal Collective - Feels
>Titus Andronicus - The Monitor
>of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?

>People like good things
Woah
Again, there’s no substance in your argument, the entire premise of it lies within the obscurity aspect. If less accessible movies of equal quality were on that list you wouldn’t be saying any of this, which leads me to believe you’re the underage here.

Yea I'm a music pleb

It's really not. If your entire list consists of things that are universally considered good then you have completely bland taste. One or two of those movies/albums being on someone's list is a given, everyone has Taxi Driver, LOTR, etc. (shit, my dad's favourite movie is taxi driver) but to have a list with those things EXCLUSIVELY is a sign of being a sheepy taste borrower.
If he had, let's say, Titanic or some shit on the list then I would respect him more. Because that movie would actually be moderately controversial to have on your top 5. His list screams "hello fellow film buffs don't mind me"

Is anyone else surprised by the heteronomity of Yea Forumss taste, not a single list shares more than 3 entries (music/film) with another list. No wonder Yea Forums is a mess

>It's really not. If your entire list consists of things that are universally considered good then you have completely bland taste.
So if you don't want to have bland taste you should like movies that are generally considered bad?

>heteronomity

Based

tf are you on about? Like 50% of these lists have LOTR, trainspotting, Bladerunner, and seven samurai, with a bunch of people having albums from either the beatles, floyd, or led. There's some gems in the rough but the rest is mostly pretentiously contrarian pseud obscurities only brought up to give themselves a sense of originality, when in reality naming obscure shit has a lower chance of having someone else seen it and calling that user out for having shit taste.

I think the consensus here is that we all appreciate true art in comparison to overproduced, corporate meddled trash that's monopolized most of media since the late 90's, as most of the repeated films on the lists are examples of raw talent and artistic freedom reigned in by first class editing, practical effects, and cinematography into at least mostly digestible works, a la LOTR, Bladerunner, terminator 2, etc. In addition most of these films have central motifs grounded in chosenone-esque escapism. Which makes sense since most retards on this board overestimate their intelligence and importance, and use cinema and this board as an escape from their boringass neet lives.

Yet the original goal of the thread was to see if there was any correlation between taste in films and taste in music. Its pretty easy to see that most people with these pseud "hey look at me I have a favorite movie that's super obscure and that no one else even likes on the off chance they've seen it" people, usually have a bunch of Yea Forums obscurity bullshit for their favorite albums too.

Anons that posted movies they actually enjoy and watch a lot generally tended to post stuff that one can expect a rational human being to listen to. Those ones either liked classic rock, metal, alt rock, or 90's/early 00's rap. Make of that what you will
