How else would someone do it?

lay out key events and rules

like what would be some unbreakable LOST rules?

Reminder that literally nothing was wrong with the ending, Locke was best character, most questions didn't need answers, Alex was best girl and OP is a fag

I think op is talking about how they raise questions about people and the island and never answer them. They invent characters and they just disapear

still better than the leftovers.

Not OP, but my problem wasn't that they were just winging it, but that the entire time they were swearing up and down that literally EVERYTHING had been planned out. Me and every other fag shitting up message boards gobbling that up. Babyfigs have no idea what it was in the break after season 2 when you see that fucking black light map for a split second and months were spent picking apart shitty standard def screen caps only for it to end up to be almost entirely meaningless, just like almost every other fucking thing the show brings up.
It would be anything if it was just wild speculation, but the Lindeloff and Abrahms were bull shitting through their fucking teeth the whole time.
The first 3 seasons were some of the best television ever produced, but it never recovers from the writer's strike.

>authors

are you not a native speaker?

>why didn't they write the whole show before they started filming the pilot
fucking brainlet

Yes I am, the word author is rarely used in film or television.

How is this user a brainlet? The best shows are planned out as much as possible?

*blocks your path*

False

The seasons were planned all at once, so you can at least expect a tightly written arc season wide. Then in season 3 when they got confirmation of the end date from the network they fully planned the rest of the show at a high level and no longer "made stuff up as they went along"

>Heroes

For a superhero show like this one I felt like the intial plot and the first 2 seasons were waaay ahead of its time. Such a shame it failed. I really loved this show.

YATAAA

What is the meaning of the cabin in the woods?
What is the meaning of the numbers?
What happened to Ben's childhood friend Annie?
What we're pregnant women being innoculated against?

Is the show with that autistic chink that tried to kill someone over a watch...? and everyone else didn't immediately kill the psychopath as he was losing it?

Attached: LostRules.png (488x993, 35K)

brother against brother....it's almost biblical...

I can answer 2 of those. The cabin was supposed to be a meeting place for any of the island members who wanted an audience with Jacob.

The pregnant women were miscarrying due to the magnetic field of the island. They were trying to negate that using Dharma tech.

Peaky Blinders
>out of ideas by second season

The real mistake was admitting that in an interview
Seriously, why the fuck would they do that?

Attached: shark.jpg (1000x564, 84K)

No they didn't. They had the story laid out from the first season, but when the internet figured out after the first episode that they were all dead from the start, the writers got pissed so they decided to say fuck you to the fans and write a bunch of nonsense that only could be explained by them all being dead from the original plane crash.

Why did the cabin move? How does that cause miscarrige?

if I was guaranteed four more seasons I'd admit it too

>they were all dead
lmao watch the series again brainlet

>Fans speculate the survivors are actually in some sort of purgatory early in the show's life
>The writers say they're absolutely not in purgatory no way never
>cue s06
BRAVO J.J.

I liked the show a lot but the last season shits itself so bad that it drags down the entire product. Also, it airing on network and thus inflating the episodes did it no favours, they could've easily cut down to 12 episodes per season with nothing of value lost.

>Alex was best girl
My nigger.

>What is the meaning of the cabin in the woods?
It’s where Jacob lived and met with Richard and whoever else.
>What is the meaning of the numbers?
Jacob had a bunch of people on a list over a long period of time, the numbers were the numbers of those 6 people on the list out of however many.
>What happened to Ben's childhood friend Annie?
Who cares
>What we're pregnant women being innoculated against?
The island had some kind of weird ancient power(the light from the cave), forget the exact explanation by their mother, that fucks up the conception process. The statue on the beach is the statue of the Egyptian God Sobek, god of medicine(the healing powers of the island) and fertitlity.

>being this much of a brainlet
only the sideways flashes were purgatory, the actual show took place in real life.

>forget the exact explanation by their mother

Actually the first part of your sentence is literally it. Like, thats the only explanation of what the light is.

>It's a storyline is resolved by Eleven staring really hard at something and having a nosebleed
Compelling television to be sure

Attached: 4D73B5CD-5194-46ED-8F5B-0E4363F67E28.png (728x400, 156K)

But the numbers cursed Hurley

its like they read Goosebumps and decided to make a show because they liked it so much

Also why did the cabin move?

WAS he cursed? The numbers brought him the money, took him to the island and basically made him a minor god. Better than getting treated like shit for the rest of his life at the chicken place

They never claimed that they had everything planned out. In fact, they consistently said the opposite: that they had the major overall story planned out, but left a lot of the smaller details open so they could have flexibility while getting there.

Even then, seasons 4, 5 and 6 were pretty heavily mapped in advance.

Also, JJ Abrams had fuck all to do with the show. He did the pilot, helped come up with some future story ideas, then went away before the rest of season 1 was even made. That's the entirety of his involvement with Lost.

Jacob was some kind of god/diety, he could do whatever he wants.

I don’t care what anyone says, the first season of Heroes like the first season of The Walking Dead was some of the greatest television ever profuced.

I still think the first season was great

NBC fucked it up after that; the original plan was to have a new cast every season because origin stories are easy to do. But the cheerleader and Hiro and Sylar and HRG all became memes so NBC demanded that the cast return.

Some of the best effects as well. Seriously special effects on TV look pretty shit. Heroes looked amazing. Mustve had a huge budget for a TV show.

>only the sideways flashes were purgatory
why do apologists think this makes any meaningful difference in the
slightest
the ultimate payoff of the show was muh purgatory, the island actually being purgatory would have been considerably better (less bad) than a smoke monster and super secret science bunkers being real things

JJ originally had made only two episodes movie style in case the pilot didn’t get picked up for a full season which was what almost happened. When the ratings came strong, they suddenly had to actually develop a plot and JJ was already gone

Not same guy you replied to, but Are you the SAME dumb fuck from yesterday?

Are you dumb as fuck? Lmao

Shut the fuck up you piece of shit. They constantly said they were NOT making it up as they when along. They lied because they knew everyone would drop it if they knew the truth. The only reason anyone watched was for the tapestry the claimed to have made, and it was all a lie.

Retoric, and you believe it.

First season of Heroes was fantastic. If only they had ended it there, it would have been pretty much perfect. Nikki/Jessica stuff gets a bit annoying on rewatches, though.

WHY THE FUCK WAS WALT “SPECIAL”

Wow I'd almost forgot about this absolut shitshow

dude polar bear comic books lmao

THEY TOOK MY BOY

I submit to you the cockroach, the pinnacle of evolution.

agreed, but season 4 was pure kino mate. dez and penny, come on now.

Same thing with twin peaks, but lynch is actually talented.

[ethereal hindu vocalizing]

>Mohinder voiceover with some philosophy 101 bullshit

I specifically remember this line because immediately afterwards the camera goes behind a closed door and we just see flashing lights under it since they ran over budget for an actual fight

This is without the best episode there was

But everything was explained.

Except who was in the second outrigger.

I had a huge crush on Keamy

>Not Lapidus

post juliet

yeah I like dead mercenaries too

Lost: The show that makes mysteries just for the sake of having mysteries
>Women can't get pregnant on the island
>Walt is a magical nigger
>Magnets how da fuck do dey work yo?= Insane clown posse
>The island moves
>How is Richard the same age as he was when he came to the island on the Black Rock as a slave/prisoner
Richard is the key to show how everyone is dead on the island- he never aged.

>not based Richard

I still dont understand
What the fuck was it about walt

Too old

And his eggs

Ok, he’s cute too

I thought there was something magical about Richard, wasn't he chosen by Jacob? Why didn't he just get Richard to do the whole savior shit? Why was the island referred to as a cork in season 5? Why did it take so long for Jacob decide that he wanted Jack to do it?

>Richard is the key to show how everyone is dead on the island

They weren't all dead on the island? When did you last watch Season 6 of Lost because it makes it pretty clear. Everything on the island was real, the purgatory is everything we see in the flash sideways. The final scene is them going to heaven.

I think the Lost ending is absolutely terrible, by the way. Why did they have to "move on"? They had everything they wanted in the pre-heaven afterlife. Really poor ending.

Annual reminder that Michael didn’t get to move on with everybody else at the end

Literally what. He's in the church with everyone else as they get enveloped in white light. Let's hear your bullshit reasoning.

Good. Didn’t he blow up the ship?

stop and think, hey where is this going?

Please ignore this post: I thought he said JACK and not MICHAEL. I actually don't remember Michael being in the final reason. I guess black people don't get to go to heaven.

final season*

you now remember that Sayid died by blowing himself up with a bomb

Extremely problematic. The threads were great that night

Well, he really didn’t deserve it. But it was not a good look to have a whites-only Heaven

Fuck. I legitimately forgot. And Sun and Jin drowned for no reason too. So many pointless deaths.

Saeed and Hurley were there

They "died" when they realized they were dead and needed to "move on". All of them were dead from the beginning, they just realized it later on in the show and "moved on". That's why the ones that "realized" they were dead earlier, were not with the ones in the church at the end.

>All of them were dead from the beginning
My favorite meme.

It's the only reasonable explanation for what happened on the island and ties everything together perfectly. It was lazy, but it was the perfect fuck you to the fans for daring to use their brains for more than 5 minutes to figure out where the writers were going with it.

post more lost shit like this
fucking hilarious

Basically, it was a undeveloped thread but Walt had psychic powers that could enchant birds:

lostpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Special this episode shows it, I KNOW there is a deleted scene that goes into this power a lot more but I cannot recall.

Damn, a heavily religious show ends up being interpretative. Who would've thought?
