DC's current films plans

I know some of these things and others are rumours that I've heard. Basically the more I write about something, the more info I have.

SHAZAM
>with the apparent success for the film basically confirmed, with the critical release being a success, the film is expected to make around $700-800 Million worldwide by the end of the run. The post credits sting is actually a minor hint towards Black Adam (and his appearance in the New 52), and seeing how well the films is being received so far, BLACK ADAM has a high possibility of being fast-tracked (more on that later).

JOKER
>everyone seems to be being quiet about this so far, but it seems like people are happy with it and excited to start showing it off. Still stand-alone, nothing to do with the DCEU. There are a number of similar, smaller budget films planned which are are waiting to see if this is well received. There are some interesting names being thrown around with those other projects, but I know nothing about it.

BIRDS OF PREY
>apparently not called subtitled “the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn”, that was a joke that Margot Robbie got printed on her script, but seeing as though people don’t hate that idea, it’s being considered. Black Canary will very much be the DCYou/New 52/Rebirth version of her character, her powers will be there but she’s afraid to use them and be outed. It’s almost completed filming, and the higher ups are happy with how the dailys have been looking.

>Harley Quinn is the lead, but apparently Huntress is the driving force of the plot, and her and Black Mask are going to be the ones at odds with each other, Quinn and Canary end up caught in the middle of it all and help her out, with Renee Montoya chasing after Huntress at the start, but joining them to fight Black Mask at the end. Cassandra Cain is a girl who ends up being protected by Black Canary, and Black Mask is after her, so that brings her into the fight. Harley joins because she feels bad for Huntress, with a similar between her and the joker having happened before the film.

>a sequel is planned but not necessary, with a follow-up Harley Quinn centred film still in the works from David Ayer, although it still being called Gotham City Sirens is up in the air. Despite the good will, this is the one people are a little worried about, as if it flops then there might be no more risk taken, and it’s a total reinvention of the universe, apart from Margot Robbie.

WONDER WOMAN 1984
>This seems to be something people are really excited for, the re-shoots are to change a subplot in the film so that it stands alone, more as a sequel to the first film and not as a prequel to BvS/Justice League. Apparently it looks fantastic, and the script was fantastic, this change has also apparently been properly worked on as well. It’s not Flashpoint reshoots, despite that idea being thrown around earlier on in the process.

THE BATMAN
>this one is a bigger budget, more standalone film, much bigger and more secret than a lot of the other films. It’s being played very close to the chest, but everyone seems to have been spending their time getting it right. It is set in the 90’s and they do have their Batman locked in, but no one outside of the core producers and executives know who it is. Reeves is excited to announce it and it could be very seen we see the name. I don’t know more than that, other leaks could give more on that one.

THE SUICIDE SQUAD
>this all sounds crazy, apparently the who “reboot/restart” idea is just the fact its not really a sequel, but rather a film with some of the players recast and some of them not. Gunn is having a blast apparently, with the executives basically egging him on to make it weirder and crazier. Idris Elba is close to signing, but I would expect to hear an announcement soon, and Viola Davis is apparently excited about it, with her character being similar to the first film, she really loved playing that whole thing, so they’ve turned it up to 11 with how brutal and cold she is. The squad is going to look different, with most of them set to be different, it may also be bigger, with more room to off character when they want to. Gunn script is apparently great and has the heart he brought to the guardians films. His brother might end up being somewhere in there was well.

THE FLASH
>with this being the last true hold over from the older Snyder lead DCEU, Ezra Miller is still sticking to his guns on it being that tone. Him and Grant Morrison want to take the more heroic elements of his character from Justice League and use that in their script. There has been talk about their vision being darker, but it’s more serious than dark, focusing on the Reverse Flash and that idea. Still very much of the old DCEU feel, but they want it more like a mixture of Man of Steel and BvS.

>Daley and Goldstein apparently want a funnier film more in line with a Marvel film than anything else. They apparently want it more towards Ragnarok and their previous film Game Night than the DCEU films. Apparently they’re willing to compromise, but the Morrison and Miller are less willing to do so, and Miller is threatening to leave over having worked on the project for just over 4 years now and seeing no progress. The higher ups apparently like both ideas but have to pick which one they want, but apparently still want Miller on board, so there is likely going to be compromise of sorts.

AQUAMAN 2
>still in the very early stages, Wan apparently knowns what he wants and has basically a free reign to do what he wants. THE TRENCH is also a side project of his but its being looked into how viable it could actually be, with people wanting to see it but knowing it might not make a lot of money.

>likely to springboard of the rumblings post-Shazam, they want to get it into pre-production ASAP. Johnson is wanting to get to the project after being cast over 5 years ago, but a lot of the delays have been because of him signing on for other movies and neither party being ready at the same time. Now everything seems to be falling into place, but the script might have to be tweaked, with a character being changed. Apparently Geoff Johns wants the STARGIRL show to be the only Stargirl centric piece of media, and they are willing to change it, but there will have to be a compromise later down the line with him

NEW GODS
>Ava Duvernay has apparently handed the second draft of the script in, with it being well received, but a few minor elements still needing to be worked on. The backlash from a Wrinkle in Time was a small hit to the production, but they are happy with her work so far and her visual stylings are exactly what they wanted for the film, and will be running with that. All the characters have yet to be cast, but talks have started about who they want, with Darkseid and High Father being a big talking points, with the two having to have great presents and be good on screen together. Mister Miricle and Big Barda will be the protagonists, and apparently Tom King’s run is an inspiration but not a direct adaptation.

GREEN LANTERN CORPS
>Everything I know about this project is out there at the moment, so I can’t talk about this. But apparently with the success of Aquaman and the space angles of Captain Marvel, they’re willing to look into its potential.

SUPERGIRL and BATGIRL
>both scripts are done and they’re looking for the right directors, Joss Whedon’s influence is still in Batgirl, but said to be more of a tonal carry over than story.

BLACKHAWKS
>its being treated as completely separate, with Spielberg basically just getting yes to everything he’s doing. Its apparently not pass the plotting stage.

NIGHTWING and DEATHSTROKE
>there is a push from some people to get these going, with a focus on them being martial arts movies over superhero movies. With Marvel actually hiring a director for Shang-Chi, it’s likely they’ll get one of them going soon, but its yet to be decided which ones.

MAM OF STEEL 2
>there is a lot of demand for a good Superman, but the role is going to be filled by SHAZAM, so the film has plans, but they won’t be used for a good long while unless they get a great pitch, which they are open for.

JUSTICE LEAGUE 2 and CYBORG
>completely scrapped, but people are sad to not have Ray Fisher in the films as apparently he had a good relationship with a lot of the guys over there.

I see it's "I'm an insider guys!" fantasy story time again.

Anything else?

>The post credits sting is actually a minor hint towards Black Adam
But it's not at all

>Batman in the 90s
>he adopts Robin
>cut the weird idea of "a grown man in a bat costume taking a kid on deadly missions" and cut right to modern day with nightwing
Good way to skip some of the problems people might have with Robin

This is pretty vague
Could you tell us something that, when revealed, we'll know you're legit?

I'm only certain on a few things, a lot of this stuff is second hand to me, so the only things I know for certain I'll say are:
A Joker trailer will arrive mid-May, it will look like a noir gangster crime trailer until the end.
A Harley Quinn centric teaser for Birds of Prey will follow a little later in May on the tales of the Joker hype
Black Adam will start getting production update within the year, with The Rock starting some hype on social media

mid-May? Really?
It's confirmed the Joker trailer is already completely done. I dont think they would wait that long to release

They're waiting to have proper Birds of Prey teaser

Also, there could be a Joker trailer sooner, I'm much closer to the Birds of Prey production than I am to Joker, I just know there is a mid-May Joker trailer followed about a week later by the Birds of Prey teaser.

>the film is expected to make around $700-800 Million worldwide by the end of the run.
It won't even get HALF that

The rest is just such obvious bullshit why did you even waste your time writing it

>A Joker trailer will arrive mid-May
Literally confirmed April 1st so it can come out with Shazam you dumb fuck

>Gunn is having a blast apparently, with the executives basically egging him on to make it weirder and crazier
Based. Dis gun b gud.

>The post credits sting is actually a minor hint towards Black Adam

How is Mr Mind teasing Black Adam?

All I know is that there will be a Joker trailer mid-May, followed by Birds of Prey. I'm not on the Joker production, and I'm super busy at the moment as we're getting towards the end of Birds of Prey shooting.

What is this?

How should have been doing the DCEU if those idiots didn't fire Chad Snyder

>we're getting towards the end of Birds of Prey shooting
That's right only another week or so left

2nd unit filming finishes next week, the main unit finishes the week after. Work on a low CGI trailer is already going on

oh yeah and they tell people on production teams the trailer dates for different movies all the time?

is the power fantasy you can come up with is making shit up on Yea Forums about capeshit?

>JOKER
Anyone thinking they're doing a soft reboot or making their own Jokerverse?

No

Any word of when we're going to get some sort of official statement from Warner regarding the Flash? Because thus far all of this Morrison/Ezra script nonsense has been "insider" info.

Half? Too bad it needs 1/3rd to BREAK EVEN!!!

Wondercon

It's likely there won't be any confirmation until either the directors leave, Miller leaves or they get into production properly

>Cyborg scrapped
This hurt me the most out of all the news user
