true but there is some kind of thing called constriction which is what it turns out snakes do that is not suffocation. A snake seems to squeeze hard enough to kind of equalize the pressures on either side of the heart so that blood doesn't flow. This kills much faster than squeezing the chest to simply deny breathing.
