Any thinking person would know this would lead to backlash and accusations of corruption, which is what's going on, and now the prosecutors are being investigated by the FBI.
I'd also add that the chief of police condemned and just absolutely slammed Jussie when the charges were announced, and he has stood by his statements and is now slamming the prosecutors as well (he even called this a "whitewash of justice" and said "from top to bottom, this is not on the level").
