Matrix holds up great. If you weren't a zoomer and where cognizant of the late 90s nihilism and industrial aesthetic you could appreciate this film in the context of that style. Equilibrium similarly so though it is self-aware of its campiness and thus is a fun scifi B movie. If you're unable to accept movies for what they are then you're always going to be revising your tastes and you'll live a life cringing at your past. It's a sad way to live so choose better.

The Matrix redefined action choreography, especially for the coming decade, so it's easy to mistake this as a movie ahead of its time.
