Is this the first time EVER that this sort of twist ending actually worked? I am legitimately excited for season 3 because I think the way they weaved everything together is beautiful. The show is like a visual poetry.
The OA
This whole show is extremely chaotic at places but it's impossible not to appreciate the coherent vision it had behind it, one of the best offerings at Netflix.
3 eps in, really surprised at how good this shit is. The first season felt like a self contained story that didn't need anything added to it but they managed to find a way to expand the lore and keep things fresh. Also Jason Isaacs is based.
*dances*
I am not sure I would have liked the show to end at season one, but it wouldn't have ruined it for me if it had, I could have rewatched it and felt it was self-contained enough. Season 2 is great, though I really don't like the subplot with the haunted house. Outside of that, I've been enjoying it. It dazzles you with its weirdness. It is one of the few shows where they could introduce almost any element and no matter how crazy or unnecessary it was you still felt like it was beautiful. The ending to season 2 made me feel a bit disappointed at first until I really thought about the context they have been building up for it across the entire season. The way it can pan out in season 3 can be absolutely beautiful.
I hope they don't take another two years for the next season. They supposedly have five planned and I really want to experience this entire journey.
It didn't work. What a terrible blunder. Unless you are talking about twist ending of season one. That one was fucking great!
wait is this show...good?
I've put off watching it because Yea Forums said it was awful, even though I liked the trailer.
It was very different than what I thought it would be when I watched the first season, in a good way.
its good and bad at times, but at most times its kino
Worth the watch. You’ll feel gay watching some parts, but overall it’s good mystery/sci fi.
No, it's metaphysical garbage. Season 2 is full of netflix-approved "teachable moments" that remind you to check your privilege.
This thread is full of netflix shills.
Her movies are good, watch those.
I think it is great, but as always it depends on the kind of television you like to watch. It is very obvious that the show is produced by a woman and a gay man, but I mean that in the most positive way possible. It is what you would expect from a female and a homosexual if they were writing great poetry. The visuals are flowery even when they are haunting. Even when they allow a character to say something crude it still feels beautiful. The story can drag a bit in the middle of each season I think, and like any show, it does have its issues. What is amazing about it though is how it deviates from all the traditional structures and norms yet somehow still feels cohesive. It is really hard for me to put into words exactly how this show affects me as a viewer.
Season 1 was a fun and strange ride. Season 2 took it to a much more dazzling and dramatic place that promises to weave an even greater narrative in season 3. It has taken what I would normally consider to be a cringe-worthy twist and turned it into a beautiful piece of storytelling. Season 3 is going to be amazing.
Why did it not work for you? The way they set it up was amazing. We now know what the end game of the show is, or at least how it will build to one. It is all about trying to find a way to leave behind Hap, or to find a way to coexist with him across the multiverse. Season 3 is going to be incredible by taking the story and turning it into memories that Prarie will have without her thinking they were real. Of course, we already know she will be triumphant and get her memories back, but seeing the emotional journey she goes through to get there will certainly be epic.
is this show based off that movie?
Why the fuck did they put in that fucking story about the game and the missing asian.
I just fucking don't care, I wanted a story about the blonde bitch and the cuck getting free.
I like the feeling of the mystery and the mood at times, but I feel it went too far on some of the shit, I dunno, left me a bit cold.
That was definitely the weakest aspect of this season. I would have much preferred the Michigan boys and BBA getting more development.
i too would uh like to voice my appreciation for uh that particular product
>interpretive dance stops a school shooter
Why the fuck should I give this shit another chance after that finale in season 1?
This has got to be a thread full of shills, right?
Seriously? Jumping in to actors that play their characters?. Ridiculous. It was more like some Netflix executive said 'we need to remind people, that this is all not real and just a fantasy'. Or at least their names shouldn't have been Brit and Jason Issacs... It ruins the immersion. I loved Ol' Night and the Trees, but this and even the dumb robots seemed a bit too much.
Another movie about a flying alien with super powers is about to pass 1 Billion dollars.
Of course, user. People don't actually like things that you don't like after all. Your tastes are perfect. Anyone pretending otherwise is obviously just a shill.
>Seriously? Jumping in to actors that play their characters?
I thought it was silly at first but when you take into context what the season had been setting up and how it is already a show about the multiverse, it's rather fun. I can appreciate why you might not like it, but the way this show layers over itself is amazing to me.
bumping.
It is full of shills.
>They supposedly have five planned and I really want to experience this entire journey.
Who writes like that on a forum? It's marketing copypasta.
this makes me want to throw up and i want you to know it has nothing to do with homosexuality and everything to do with your style of critique holy shit please fuck off.
>Who writes like that on a forum?
People who are actually here to discuss television and movies as opposed to shitposting.
No one cares.
>No one cares.
Clearly, you have a rousing discussion going on here. I'll stick around and see what hard-hitting and singular critique emerges from this colorful melting pot of the internet thanks to your eloquent guidance.
What? I'm not even OP you retard.
I liked it because it was such a wtf moment for everyone that it could have plausibly made the shooter pause for long enough that the janitor got him. Season 1 standalone ends with you not knowing if everything prarie has told them is a lie.
>responds to me
>i respond back
>im not the person you are not responding to
yes ok here we are in the conversation now that you've established this IMPORTANT fact we can continue
