Who was in the wrong here?

Who was in the wrong here?
What would you have done in the sergeant's place?
Would he have been able to save himself if he fucked the landlord's daughter?

>be faithful
>die a horrible death
What did they mean by this?

But they gave him the best death a Christian could hope for, he died for his faith

>shag Britt Ekland
>not get burned in a big wicker man

win-win

I would have brought a gun, oh wait he's British police, so sorry old chap, into the pyre you go.

Did british police officers in the 70s really not carry any guns with them?

They have special police that use guns, majority do not as far as I know. The Sgt here should have at least got the flare gun from his seaplane. It's better than nothing.

They would have been available in the 1970s but he wouldn't taken one just to investigate the case of a missing girl on a Scottish island

The remake was better

that it's a horror movie and therefore awful things happen to people who remain pure and try to help and do nothing wrong

He should have equalized the situation.

Why was she dancing naked, dry humping a wall and slapping her ass to a beat?

It's what all females do when they want to have sex with you, you should know this

based woodward. based jag. based theme tune

maybe if you're a guy doing that in a horror movie

>Would he have been able to save himself if he fucked the landlord's daughter?
probably yes

It was a ritualistic dance meant to psychically seduce him

I think Edward Woodward was quite a handsome fellow.

Right; the film shows him dying as an actual martyr. That's an extreme top 0.01% outcome for deaths if you're a Christian. Very few people have the privilege of dying directly as martyrs for the faith. When you consider that most people die dull and prosaic deaths from shit like heart disease or traffic accidents, being immolated in a pagan wicker man and then joining the Lord is rather outstanding.

>somebody getting the point of the movie

That’s not something you see often.

Is this a pagan horror kino thread.

Might as well
Is that one good?

If you like low budget British 70's horror films then yeah. Black Death was a good modern one.

The epilogue was unnecessary.

Detectives ALWAYS work in pairs

He needed to pass a number of tests to ensure his suitability for sacrifice in order to restore Summerisle’s fertility.
His refusal to succumb to the sex dance was due to his strong Christian beliefs, which was yet another factor that marked him as an ideal outsider for sacrifice.

>Satan
>Pagan
You had one job you fucking idiot
