Do people seriously think this game is better than 3 other than the contrarians in nu/v/ who desperately try to fit in?

I'd only watch it if it was an anthology about different couriers

NV being better than 3 is the prevailing opinion though.

NV is better than FO3, in this point yes, u are right. But nv being better than FO2 or the other 2d isometric fallout games, no, you aren't.

oh, I wasn’t saying that, it just sounded like that user was only comparing 3 and NV

Yeah but FO3 didn't allow me to steal all 37 gold bars from the Sierra Madre's vault while punking Father Elijah and Dean Domino in the process.

The gameplay is better than 3 but the atmosphere of 3 hasn't been topped since.

what atmosphere? you mean the "retarded green post apocalyptic theme park" atmosphere?

Movies with this atmosphere?

Uh oh we got a wild autist in here

How do I get into CRPGs? I've tried playing all the ones that are usually considered "classic" like Fallout, BG, Arcanum etc. and also more modern ones like Pillars and Tyranny. But I even if I'm enjoying them I eventually become reluctant to play them for god knows what reason.

True, they get boring easily. Especially after you did all the campaign.

I'd recommend fallout tactics too, there are modders currently working on some nice expansions of that game. Too bad it doesn't have speech tree.

You don't have to play crpgs every time. Just when you feel it. Or for nostalgia, in case you've played that game like a decade ago.

3 felt like a wasteland. It felt bleak and hopeless, with that campy Fallout weirdness that kept it feeling a nice place to be. The gameplay is janky and the main storyline really isn't all that but when you went exploring in 3 you felt like you were exploring, like there were always things to uncover and the setting -minus the metro tunnels- and locations never got boring. I love NV, but by the time you've reached the strip (following the main storyline) the game feels as though it's almost empty. The locations are lackluster and there is little charming or interesting about it. You might prefer NV over 3 -as do I in a lot of ways- but to say that 3 has no atmosphere you're either being dishonest or you never got into it, because again, the atmosphere in 3 hasn't been topped or even matched since.
