It bounced between great and syfy original movie. It tried to be Tron Legacy at times, had bad pacing, and had far too many awkward scenes. Black Manta started out as great, then they gave him a comedic Iron Man 1 suit scene for some stupid reason. Throw in some Marvel humor and you've got a solid 5.5/10 movie.

The love interest was unlikeable an the villain unmemorable. And the CGI wasn't nearly good enough to rely on it as heavily as it did. Otherwise it was a fine action movie with a decent sense of scale. It didn't have the social commentary or the operatic sensibilities that elevated Batman v Superman above its own genre but it was still among the better recent superhero movies. Not that that's saying much.
