This was the absolute worst sequel they could have made. I would have preferred a movie where terrorists build mechanical parts into kaiju corpses and use them to fight the Jaeger corps.

Also, I personally think if they had wanted to do a "muh diversity" character, my ex and I agreed that they should have had Mako and Raleigh's daughter have been the protag so that if they had still killed Mako, it would have had more emotional impact. Plus, a qt Asian girl as the main character would have been better than ooga-booga-Boyega.

They didn't. The Jaegers were flipping and jumping off buildings like they were Transformers in the movie. All that collateral damage, holy shit.

The first was nothing but wasted potential. At least this one came through on the central premise and had a good variety of ideas.

That was the first movie. Despite the massive size and weight of the Jaeger there was absolutely no weight to them at all, despite how slow and clumsy (and short) the fights were. This one actually paid attention to things like weight and momentum.

Pretentious manchildren who pretend the first Pacific Rim was good while saying this one is bad because they were told that was the opinion they're supposed to have are pathetic.

It's funny you compare it to Transformers as if it's a bad thing when the Transformers movies have some of the best physics animation ever done. You're literally complaining something is more dynamic and aesthetic.
