>remaking the ultimate parody episode
why not remake nick of time. it's a great episode, and the superior shatner ep
Instead of a monster on the wing, it's muslims. lmao
So instead of the nightmare being a gremlin the true nightmare is Islamaphobia?
>All Access
Oh come on! It's going to die at the launch
Video is unavailable (region locked maybe?), can I get a basic gestalt?
They don't show the monster at all. Just a dude being paranoid of everyone around him on the plane.
Looks decent. I enjoy the old Twilight Zones alot
Got this threads theme right here!!!FACT!!! youtu.be
The monster was in the first trailer
This is probably one of the worst choices they could make for a first actual episode teaser trailer
watch out guys it's the 90's CGI monsters here to eat the future, or something!
I'm guessing the dude is worried a muslim will take control of the plane
Did anyone think it was Tom Cruise for a split second?
>going to die at the launch
it was launched 4 years ago
>and the superior shatner ep
This.
That's kind of a cute idea for a remake, but it's still not very inspiring that their first act after bringing Twilight Zone back is to remake a remake
Its because its the one that people know, next we'll see a remake of the one with that ends with the librarian alone breaking his glasses and after that it'll probably be beauty in the eye of the beholder
>He's paranoid that they're all going to die but the twist is he's the one destroying the plane
>it's a metaphor for immigration
Calling it now.
>not even a shadow of the monster
come on
Because it's not a monster this time, it's a terrorist plot or something
>(white) man is the real monster
>t. Jordan Peele
Woah.
Next episode: the muslims are due on maple street.
You are seriously obsessed
>not available
uhh
Actually, the 'Monsters Are Due on Maple Street' remake from the 2003 series was about terrorism
see
It would have been better in black and white
Looks like the video is gone
Now, the only place to find the video
Is in... the Twilight Zone
So they're just remaking episodes or what?
Was Twilight Zone always this hamfisted? It always felt a little punk for its day, with a WW2 vet calling out controversial social issues and criticizing a global conflict, or just being straight freaky.
This just feels pop. Like, yeah, most normal people don’t think muzzies are bad. But there was widespread cold war anxiety and racial tension when the original show aired.
God fucking dammit. Could they really have not come up with an original story for the pilot???
Fuck man non-stop with Liam Neeson was a better story about being stuck on a plane and no one believing you
It would have probably had more bite a decade ago. For a long time after 9/11 there was a real fear of muslims on planes.
>30,000 Feet
Imagine the smell
Monsters are due on maple st
Time enough at last
Eye of the beholder
Nightmare at 20,000 feet
Midnight sun
To serve man
I lost excitement for this show as soon as I saw this
youtube.com
Rod’s writing was art, and his readings were heartfelt. This shit just comes off as Jordan reading a script that’s
>bruh this deep, innit?
When it’s just dumb paradoxical talking
yup.
pretty uninspired desu
They usually would stick to decent allegories, where it's obvious what the message was, but wasn't as blatant. The only exceptions tended to be ones where the message was a more general "man is the true enemy".
>But wasn't as blatant.
Nigga I think this new show looks pretty lame but come on, TTZ had loads of unsubtle, blatant themes.
>begins April Fool's Day
hmmm
Totally agree. Like, this concept feels better fit for a bunch of POCs getting freaked out by a white boy, or hysteria over Russia Gate/Trump (think AHS: Cult’s first episode). We’re so past popular Islamaphobia that this has no relevant cultural commentary
Trailer for episode 2
Trying a little hard, user
Maybe, but TTZ also didn’t mind just having plain freaky episodes. I mean, the ep that they’re ripping off for the pilot had zero political commentary and was just
>nobody believes the guy but there’s a monster on the plane
Sure, fear of flying was probably more prominent then. But this show adds nothing when Black Mirror is still in production
Is it all just gonna be remakes? Whats the fucking point? Make new shit or dont bother
>not even remaking the shitty episodes
>remaking the most mainstream/popular ones
Man, I should have known.
>black mirror rips off the original twilight zone
>nulight zone rips off black mirror
its like pottery
Potential I guess. I like spooky stories about things disappearing that no one seems to notice
apparently this is the only remake episode this season though
They should have saved it for the finale instead
I just can't imagine jordan narrating the fucking twilight zone. Like even that bit there felt almost like he was about to do a key and peele skit.
Can't top the Shat
Rod had heart and a great concern for humanity. Peele is a little too microscopic, and probably doesn’t even write the intros/outros and is just showing up for a paycheck
They're doing the other Shatner one too, they showed the napkin holder in the other promo. Also the one where the kid wishes everyone away if they don't do what he says. He takes over the White House and America.
Pretty sure he's producing it and directing a bunch. I think he's got a good horror track record so I'm still hopeful
such fucking flat uninspiring delivery, christ.
They should have remade one that isn't as known. Maybe like Walking Distance or the Will the real Trump Supporter please stand up.
This thing was too spooky for me as a kid. Had to skip any scenes with these friendly fellas because of it
seems like there is no real monster in this version. here is an easter egg of the original
Lol what is this? Is this from the first remake?
Say what you want about the quality but there's no doubt that Peele is a huge fan and is doing this because he loves the original.
You are entering the vicinity of an area adjacent to a location. The kind of place where there might be a monster, or some kind of weird mirror. These are just examples; it could also be something much better. Prepare to enter: The Scary Door.
Its a shot from Peele's Twilight Zone, I assume from the remake of Nightmare at 30, 000 ft
>seems like there is no real monster in this version.
Of course there isn't, because the original message was to question things even when you're deemed crazy.
The original played with the monster being real or being imaginary until the ending camera pan where you saw the damage on the wing was real.
This one is going to be all about some terrorist plot to take down the plane and will play with the same real vs paranoia theme and in the end you'll find out there really was a plot and the terrorists will be white
You know actually, a Twilight Zone remake wouldnt be that bad if they actually had good writers behind it, because you could do so much better than whatever shitty WOT IF UA FONE CONTROALLED U concept Black Mirror had
Too bad its CBS and they'll just make it a flat, uninspired remake like 80% of pop culture these days
its the door from monsters inc
Will we get the best twist ever again
Calling it now. Terrorist is Tres Commas or it’s a bioshock “would you kindly” plot
The other problem is that it’s not that inexpensive to do one-off anthology episodes anymore. Also, Peele could be a good writer for these, but it doesn’t seem like he’s writing his own intros/outros
