How the fuck is capeshit still so big at the box office? Will the fatigue ever set in?

It's coming up on 20 years since the first X-Men movie. It's been over ten years since the last Iron Man yet these fucking movies still make billions. How? Aren't people tired of these fucking things by now? Has there ever been a trend in Hollywood that's lasted this long? Can it even be called a trend at this point?

this one isn't a good example though because it's all false
other than that I'd say capeshit is bigger than ever

Because it's like you're waiting months for a new episode of a hit TV show. People really like continuity

why do people keep pointing at xmen as the start of the cape films?

The entire 80s was Superman movies, 1989 had Punisher and Batman, 90s were batman sequels, darkman, phantom, the crow, spawn, blade

and they're a big hit because the generation that grew up reading comic books because we were told it was dangerous to go outside due to pedophiles, drug dealers, and sun cancer, are adults. It's also been shoved down everyone's throats that "nerd culture" is cool

Friendly reminder that Disney bought out tickets in droves in order to inflate Captain Marvel's box office numbers, hence the reported ghost screenings.
Ergo, Disney cheated their way to the top, and they'll utilize this playbook by the time Episode IX drops.

"Superhero fatigues" are not going away anytime in the future, you better get used to it

there is a saying in my town, that goes like this
>the jew will cry out, wiles its hitting you

its not cheating if you dont get cut. They invest money in their own brand ,its money in the bank for them.

social engineering and general stupidity
financials and marketing numbers might as well be the same thing these days

Box Office numbers my man

I think big "traditional" superhero movies will get a lot less popular after Endgame.

Then again, TFATF franchise is still going strong, so who knows.

What makes you say that, user?

I think it's near the end the current stars of most Marvel movies are aging they'll have to reboot most of them at some point and that's a risk

Hey guys, I'm also a manager at a theater place, and I can tell you that what the guy in the picture is lying. I actually know him very well, and what he said is false. He has been fired.

you're all mentally stunted zombies, that why

I literally don't know a single person who has gone to see this movie. I know its not a great indicator but it kind of makes me think its all a ruse as well.
Then again, I'm from a country that doesn't give much of a fuck about capeshit in general.

to be fair, i still haven't seen a single photo of a full captain marvel showing

>2 movies per year
>literally 3 hours of your life in 365 days
>fatigue

????????????

people watch tv, play video game etc. several hours a day, and no one is speaking about any fatigue

Marvel could release a movie every 3 months there would be no fatigue if the quality is there

>its not cheating if you dont get cut.
Are you joking?

It was full when I went to see it.
Idk why you people are pretending this is any different than every other Marvel movie.
Marvel movies print money, because it's like a tv show

I can confirm this. I am the guy in the picture. I purposely did it to get fired.

>there would be no fatigue if the quality is there
>if the quality is there
>if

>How? Aren't people tired of these fucking things by now?
It's episodic. That's the brilliance of the shared-universe.
People go to each one because they're invested in the overarching story and want to see how it turns out.

Think of how many TV shows you started, then began to hate, but you still watched because, well, fuck it, I want to see how it ends.

The real test will be after endgame. Will moviegoers think, "Well Thanos is dead, that's done and done. It was a fun ride." or will they keep seeing MCU movies?

I saw it three times, on opening day, the sunday of that weekend, and yesterday, all at 4 PM. The first two showings, two rooms were showing it. The first time the theater I used was nearly empty, I don't know about the other room. The second time, the first room we went to was so full we decided to check the other for seats. That one was pretty full too, but we all found seats together. Yesterday, they were only showing it in one room, but that one was decently full.

then if anything, you should blame Batman and then Spiderman, Xmen did poorly

End Game, despite the name, is more like a Season Finale rather than a Series Finale; but what you said is true. when an arch is finished, it's easier to walk away, even if they try to dangle a cliffhanger in front of you

why do you retards think the "capeshit" meme exists outside of this board? to normies its just another movie.

to normies they're masterpieces and works of art. Seriously, talk to them about it and you'll see how seriously they take the marvel universe.

I wonder if kids in the 80s and 90s thought action movies = capshit in the

Arnold
Stallone
Van damme/Dolph
Segal era

Endgame is a hurdle but the real test is going to be when these actors start moving on. Expect to see another decade of this shit if it can survive a recasting.

They recasted a major character without much/any pushback

Because there's no point going to the cinema for something that isn't a spectacle, and Marvel puts out at the very least okay movies three times a year.

20 years ago Bill clinton was oresident so this was the logical consequence of the consequential actions he took to have a n third awakening. Captain Marvel a marvelous movie was it i don’t know mever saw it itnisn’t what they wanted me to do yesterday when rhe rivwrs felll. The average snake is a rattlesnake

That was a side character who nobody cares about.
Was anybody really disappointed he became a cripple in civil war?

Gonna be a few decades before it outlasts Westerns. People watch all sorts of movies at home but they go to the cinema to see Capeshit. The MCU is the zoomer Star Wars its here to stay.

Who? Sure they might be able to get away with an isolated recasting but when the whole roster is rotated? I dunno. People fall in love with these faces.

Those movies were designed for boys in the 80s and 90s, capeshit had its own movies back then too.

1. People are hedonists and get more pleasure from vfx than storytelling
2. Vfx is the best for selling internationally
3. Movie companies are getting flooded by investments from the tech industry that expects practice and development of CGO
4. People don't like change and capeshit is consistent
5. Capeshit stories revolve around "muh most important survival of the world(s)" and are therefore deemed as more important to watch

Based schizoposter

At this point America hit its saturation point and if anything is starting to decline. The Dark Knight was is the pinnacle of Capeshit and deservedly made bank off America. 1/2

These are movies you take your kids to see. My sister is completely indifferent to cape-shit, but my nephew is not.

It is really that simple.

2/2 Shitty action movies like Captain Marvel, the Michael Bay Transformers series, and Fast and Furious gets the same static box office totals from America. But it gets good box office numbers from the rest of the world because The rest of the world is fucking retarded.

>Hey guys, I'm also a manager at a theater place, and I can tell you that what this poster is lying. I actually know him very well, and what he said is false. He has been fired. He's currentlt sucking cocks for $5 on a street corner.

soon

and yes, these are all marvel characters who were created to replace the white characters:

Spiderman (Miles Morales)
Ironwoman (Riri Williams)
Captain America (isaiah bradley)
Sorcerer Supreme (Dr VooDoo)
Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau)

>black Captain America standing on Tony Stark's head
what did he mean by this?

you should probably bitch about it more and give it free publicity worldwide from that bitching and increase the initial tracking of 70m opening to the 150+ that it got

>COPE

How the fuck are /pol/tards ever going to recover?

Appeals to all genres older man baby gen-xers, boomers, kids. Now they try to reach out to women and blacks.

This. Same with black panther.

There was 6 billion people in the world 20 years ago.
To day, there's over 7 billion people.
More people. More YOUNG people. Every year there's more YOUNG PEOPLE.

That's how.

>Has there ever been a trend in Hollywood that's lasted this long?

Westerns lasted for decades. They were also vastly superior to cape shit.
