Let's be honest, she would be a better Jedi than Daisy Ridley.
Let's be honest, she would be a better Jedi than Daisy Ridley
at least daisy chan has thiccness
Daisy is cute and wholesome Brie is a cunt with rotten feet
tpbp
She looks like a wet plastic bag
>she's ugly!!!!
>I wouldn't smash ewww
Daisy at least has a good personality in real life and doesn't have a stuck up energy about her. Is actually capable of working in a team.
So no. No matter how much i dislike Disney Wars, i gotta give it to Daisy many times over on this topic since Daisy opening her mouth doesn't result in the house falling apart.
Wrong
nah, daisy's cuter.
Let’s be honest, female protagonists are objectively shit in live action fantasy/scifi/action movies.
Only because that's how they're written.
>wholesome
lol no but I guess if you're comparing to Larson...
Either way Ridley is been a fine casting choice for Star Wars it's just too bad the writing in her movies has been so atrocious.
She unironically wouldn't
That's how shit she is
You might as well shill jennifer lawrence and emma stone if you shill this utter boring bitch
This. I like her in interviews and find her cute, but man is Rey just the biggest pile of bullshit ever.
Did her agent set her up for this little stunt?
Is she trying to seed the idea of being cast as Mara Jade by posing with a purple lightsaber?
I want to taste Daisy's turd cutter.
>Disney likes strong women
>willing to bring back Thrawn
>doesn't bring back Mara Jade
Why?
Would disrupt Kathleen's plot of Luke being a suicidal incel.
It don't matter who they put in that role a bland mary sue is a bland mary sue
It was his lightsaber she was holding.
She would be a great Kylo
>not recognising that's a headswap of Rey with a purple recolour
Daisy did honestly great in TFA. She was naive, doe-eyed and unaware of how capable she was. You autists will argue with this, but Rey's characterization in TFA was perfect.
Everything was fucked in TLJ where she was asked to play a completely different character with the same name, all the playfulness was replaced with undue edginess. You can see that she was doing her best with the script, see how she turns serious lines to sound ironic to salvage shit writing, but Rian seems to be unaware of that during the whole duration of the film.
TLJ was better than TFA which was shit
Sam Jackson is like tetriary chracter in MCU, why would Feige hire Brie Laison just because she jerked him off?
>Rey's characterization in TFA was perfect
I think she could play a stormtrooper if they didnt give her any lines
Honestly, as a hater of both movies, if TLJ had a proper explanation like she was a clone of Sheev, than her arc in TFA makes a lot more sense. Instead it had nothing.
You're asking them to justify Rey's retarded and unearned power levels shit lord.
>Rey's characterization in TFA was perfect.
Perfectly awful.
Dude, Anakin was the exact same but had a proper explanation in midichlorians. Being a clone of a powerful Sith Lord is a perfectly reasonable explanation for Rey being absurdly powerful in the Force.
They didn't do this so not sure why you're getting upset, we all agree it's retarded but it could easily have been improved.
Bro you're misinterpreting me. I agree with you, but even a simple explanation like what you suggested is apparently intolerant or something. It's like unhinged middle aged women with axes to grind are in charge of the writing.
It's like the knew the first ever female Star Wars protagonist would be original and interesting to viewers, and just decided she needed absolutely nothing else to her. It's obviously by the way Kathleen and Rian talk about female characters in the making of documentaries that they're both retarded feminists.
just remove the head and we good
It literally doesn't matter if Rey's character and abilities are qualified in the sequel. That argument has no baring on her being a Mary Sue. If she is revealed to be literal space god, it doesn't change the fact that characters like that are BORING. They're unrelatable.
Neo from The Matrix is a perfect example of a protagonist in a fantasy setting done well. There is extreme tension in his final confrontation with Smith. We FEAR for him because up until that point we've witnessed his SHORTCOMINGS and WEAKNESSES. The movie has established that he's not perfect which makes his final fight far more ENGAGING. The odds are stacked against him. In the end he is revealed to be The One; effectively a god with the film's reality. But the reason we route for him and become invested is because we've seen him fail the jump. We've watched Morpheus beat the shit out of him. We've watched Trinity save him on the rooftop and we've been shown the Oracle to know far more than him and give him guidance. The One effectively gets his hand held by Morpheus and Trinity throughout the movie. It makes the payoff of his succeeding far more SATISFYING.
Rey doesn't have these moments. At all. People don't dislike her because she's a woman BUT being a woman is a big part of the reason why she is the way she is. In the current social and cultural landscape, JJ and Kennedy were so afraid of being accused of creating a 'weak' female character that they went too far the other way.
And, on a side note, any movie that can't stand up in its own right as a good film and relies on sequels to clarify massive holes in the protagonist's characterization, has failed in the presentation of that character.
I see where you're coming from.
If you take a look at Rey in TFA:
>A childlike girl that is surprised whenever she accomplishes something, hinting that there's something special about her that she's not aware of.
In TLJ:
>She's just a badass that does everything perfectly without any explanation, period.
The problem is, that TLJ retconned the characterization from TFA when she was revealed to be nobody. So as much as I agree with you if you only look at Rey in TFA in a void, your point is nullified by TLJ.
>A childlike girl that is surprised whenever she accomplishes something, hinting that there's something special about her that she's not aware of.
Where's the character development or character arc?
It was the first movie in a trilogy. She was introduced, something special about her was hinted, her character was consistent and played well. She was obviously a fish out of the water character, which is not necessarily a good idea for the protagonist (honestly it worked in Wonder Woman, as shit as the movie was). I worked in the context of the first movie, but the second movie didn't take the character anywhere, just turned it into a different character.

The only good ones are written as men
She would be so bad that Disney would have to buy out theaters and bribe Rotten Tomatoes like they did for Captain Marvel.
>yfw literally /pol/cel suicide when Brie Larson is cast as Luke Skywalker super powerful Daughter Emancipation "Emmie" Skywalker
Godamm that would be hilarious
At least Luke would have a daughter then.
And she would be successful and by extension so would Luke.
Is that a euphemism for his penis
Nah, I want to flood Daisy's insides with my magical mystery goo, not Brie's.
>shit on Luke
>child murdering temple slayer Anakin is cool
>Kylo is misunderstood and only killed everyone in the temple b/c Luke attacked him maybe they were trying to stop him from escaping
>/pol/cel
No one on /pol/ ever gave a fuck about captain marvel
Rey should be naked
More than 1 person can be ugly
>they're saying something negative about a woman. That means they're from /pol/
>people on /pol/ are right-wing. Republicans hate women. I guess.
>also, people that are right-wing are incels. Because incels hate women. Reddit told me this
That talentless flap is not worth having an opinion about.
I would have immediately forgotten about the fact that the star of this capeshit with 1998 CGI had a cervix if people weren't constantly reminding me
I 100% agree OP
It blows my mind that Disney of all people had Luke say the line "I came to this island to die." Make him a hermit if you want to but, fuck, give the biggest hero in film history some fucking dignity.
Funny how people think they are winning some political/cultural battle in threads about box offices. I learned in 2008 that this site is about da lulz. Nothing has changed but there are less posters who understand this.
The entire movie is offensively stupid, and it's poetic that the main character is the dumbest thing about it
These people don't know anything. They didn't understand the finer details of the original movies, and they don't understand the very basic plot elements and their respect for essential storytelling instinct
Luke Skywalker's entire character was not giving up when times look dire. He's essentially analogous for the good side of the force. His own father is trying to kill him, and he's on a suicide mission to try and salvage him
Whatever reason they had for making this decision was so weak that I can't even remember what it is
If nothing else, watching Mark Hamill in interviews struggling to come to terms with it and sending coded messages of "It's shit what they did to me" with his face and language was satisfying.
At this point I don't care, if enough people loved TLJ like it seems they did then it means they aren't firing Kennedy and Rian will probably get his trilogy and we're in store for more bullshit. Maybe the occasional videogame and comic or tv show will be good but I wouldn't mind if every big film shit all over it even more, fuck these people.
you're right! she would have just as much (0) sex appeal!
I remember seeing it in theaters opening week and having my gf (who doesn't give a shit about these movies) show visual disgust and asking ME if we could leave because it was just so terrible was hilarious to me. I mean you have to literally TRY to make a movie so fucking bad with so much quality source material. If we can manage to get EA and Disney to fuck off (which will probably never happen) then Star Wars has a chance
Daisy probably is a nudist since she's European
Mine was more depressing, saw a 50 year old dude with his wife a few rows below me who you could tell had grown up with it and he was doing wtf signs with his hands at everything Luke related. The thing that got the biggest reaction though was that ironing board joke when it looked like a ship landing but it was a droid ironing. He looked so confused and sad at Spaceballs humor in the middle of a tense scene, I felt the same.
>If she is revealed to be literal space god, it doesn't change the fact that characters like that are BORING. They're unrelatable.
Yeah what people need to realize is that the accusation of powers being unexplained is a rather loaded question. Explaining the powers is just the first step, and it's kind of presumed that the explanation is going to be a good one. That is, an author that takes the trouble to explain why Rey is good at the stuff she's good at is going to notice that she's getting overpowered and stop assigning new abilities in every scene.
But an explanation could help if it was a segue to a better story. Suppose Episode 8 revealed that Rey had a part of her memory suppressed, a part where she'd been abducted and spent several years training to use the force. That wouldn't fix The Force Awakens internal narrative, but it would address the plot hole in the overraching story. That alone wouldn't fix the Mary Sueness, but it would be a solid jumping-off point to give Rey some real motivations, struggles, and a place in the world. But then the resulting story would have looked absolutely nothing like The Last Jedi.
>You autists will argue with this, but Rey's characterization in TFA was perfect.
characterization?
no
she was well-cast I think, and did a fine job acting the role (yeah, I get it, you all hate her toothy slack-jaw but for the most part she is charismatic)
But characterization of Rey in TFA was a slow-motion train wreck. It starts off promising but by the end of the movie it's fucking retarded and no amount of charismatic acting could save it.
>Daisy at least has a good personality in real life and doesn't have a stuck up energy about her.
You're kidding, right? She definitely has a stuck up personality, especially compared to other actors like Boyega. She didn't even acknowledge the fans at the premiere and walked past everyone, while everyone else took the time to talk to fans and sign autographs. Don't tell me that you forgot about her lashing out at fans when people called Rey a mary-sue and constantly trying to make her character interesting and relevant. She hasn't gotten mad at airport security staff yet so I guess she's not as bad as Brie.
Her acting as atrocious.
>her character was consistent and played well
Not really. Consistent in that her unrealistic Mary Sue status increased consistently scene by scene, culminating in her defeating Kylo Ren 1v1 in a Lightsaber duel (a scene that was in no way written, choreographed or filmed such that Kylo's injury had any bearing whatsoever on the outcome, before any retard brainlet brings up the blaster wound).
By the end of the first movie of a trilogy you should be able to say something more about her and her place in the world than "her personality was consistent." By the end of TFA, Rey does not feel like she belongs in the story. You can really feel the hand of the writers warping reality to favor her with unrealistic victories and unearned relationships.
You're probably right. But a lot of actresses would be good Jedis. Ridley is fine.
>shes not a mary sue youre just an incel
If Rey walked around in her birthday suit, she'd freeze to death
But this picture is both cute and wholesome?
I like Diasy a lot. I don't think she's the problem. She's got great chemistry with Adam too.
She should take up nudism
Because she's got no emotions?
she should have no clothes
is rey a virgin
all the other jedi were celebit and the only one who wasnt got corrupted into a sith
can you become a jedi if you've already had sex?
Daisy, yes. Brie, no.
This, TLJ was way too different
No, Rey is amazing at sex. She learned how to fugg by messing with old wrecks in the desert, the same way she learned how to speak Wookie, and bypass compressors, and fight half a dozen armed men with a stick, etc.
I agree. That would have been a more fitting role. She is fun as Cap Marvel though.
>downwards overarm block
Looks good on a poster but guaranteed to get you slaughtered in an actual fight.
t. 25 years of HEMA
>just bump her and her own light saber cuts her arm off
>downwards strike on blocking lightsaber
Say goodbye to your right arm, fucking retard.
films would be better if she walked around naked
Just bring her in to play old Ahsoka.
>she'll never brand your ass with her lightsaber
No one liked the prequels retconning Anakin to be Force Jesus (who wasn't Jesus) either. In the OT he was just a guy who happened to be a skilled Jedi Knight and a traitor to his order. Luke redeeming him wasn't fulfilling some prophecy, it was a story about the Force in general and a son's love toward his father.
She means she sucked his filthy cock
aside from the fungus does anyone know what Brie's major health problem is? All actresses now have them and usually going in and out of hospital means gaining weight during shooting, once established as the character
ha haven't seen russell clean shaven for ages
I still would. A coke-fueled bone session with Daisy would be the highlight of my life.
BPL
get it through your fucking head that 'european' in the cultural sense means the continent and does not apply to uk. uk people do not walk about in g strings in the house or kiss hello because the uk is in the fucking eu. they call that stuff 'european' meaning it's of the continental europe. jeezus christ
>emma stone
Oh, what could have been....
Fun fact, the Olsen twins are actually huge Star Wars fans.
Mommy Dunst is also a Star Wars fan.
qt3.14 Kristen Bell is also a huge Star Wars fan and does a banging cosplay as slave leia in "Fanboys".
Suprisingly, Julia Roberts is also a fan.
LOL what is she Doing? If somebody strikes her sabre when she is holding it like that the force of the blow is going to cause her to cut her arm off with her own sabre!
Kaley Cuoco
Jaime King is a fan and even threw a SW themed baby shower.
Forgot pic
Cara Delevinge or whatever the fuck. Eyebrows girl.
In costume at the movie premiere.
Olivia Munn, though she might just be an attention whore and not actually a fan.
Lmao did you miss the scene where he gets knocked out and his arm chopped off by Dooku? How about when Obi Wan cuts off all his limbs and leaves him in lava to burn to death?
/ourgorilla/ Amy Schumer is also a big fan of the movies.
Fuck you
Alyssa Milano too.
>even less acting range than ridley
pass, she's old as fuck and too fat
>implying you wouldn't go down on her while 3PO pegs you from behind
Anyway, Meghan Fox is a fan as well, and owns a life size R2D2 at her home.
Incel
Elizabeth Banks would recite the original Star Wars movies to her children as bedtime stories.
Emphasis on BIG
Arianna Grande, surprisingly, is a fan and even made a fan film about Han and Greedo.
fag
Ridley is the least of the Star Wars problems.
BEST EMMA is a fan as well and can recite the OT word for word. She says some of her best memories growing up were watching the trilogy as a little girl with her dad.
not an argument
Wtf. is this...
wholesome
I dunno, she looks too old to be Rey.
at that speed the lightsaber would not even be able to cut more than a couple inches deep. if the sequels changed physics and the lightsaber is completely solid, then it would fly out of her hand the moment it touched the metal.
When you target demographic consists of an entire generation filled to the brim with mentally impaired autists, yes. When they were targeting sane people it used to be different (Alien, T2, etc)
pathetic
watch disney cast her as bastilla in the KOTOR movies from the GoT guys
Daisy is the female equivalent of this man though.
Yeah I bet she held his "light saber" and he made you cry
Unironically made me feel sick to my stomach and I don't even like star wars
Doesn't matter, she literally has no boobs
if he came there to die why did he leave pieces of a map to find him
What do you call this body type, /fit/?
>UK trying to separate themselves from EU while being elitist about it
You can keep your CCTV and telly licenses to yourself
Would work, Bastila is a preachy cunt, too.
>an ugly american cunt
No thanks reddit
Indeed. Rey should be nude
Emma should walk around naked
Fewer, not less.
she acts like such a cold bitch.
she reminds me so much of my ex
That doesn't say much considering how terrible Daisy Ridley is, in those movies. Not to mention she's not even a Jedi.
But yeah, if I had to choose, I would have picked Brie
why is america so obsessed with trannies these days?? even /gif is plagued with it
>hit lightsaber
>leverage pushes hers back and cuts her arm
What a retarded pose
"they're also a fan" well Harrison Ford wasn't and still isn't a fan so i don't give shit and neither should you. that doesn't make them any more qualified, actually it'll make them more likely to introduce terrible fan fiction that no one wants
>light
>leverage
oh but starkiller bringing a star destroyer down with the force is okay?
sexists 0
non incels 1
I wouldn't go that far. Insofar as Yea Forums's affected it's because of stunted and fucked-up adults who need very badly to believe in "internet gangs" and for whom reddit's just not having the effect it used to. A person in that sort of state's always going to have the time necessary to shit up more than just one (1).
