They should just do a remake from season 6.
it was never good, even back then it was just a glorified soap opera with zombies, but at least they had good actors, now the show doesn't even have that
Who is this character? I stopped watching after the first second.
This season is great.
Probably not but this season has been fine honestly.
soft reboot the entire series
It hasn't been good since the third episode of season 1.
>ezekiel survived the spikes
why
meme opinions
Season 4-5 were absolutely based
Probably because he's one of the few actual characters they have left, they can't afford to kill him off.
The church massacre was peak TWD kino
Only thing that comes close is No Sanctuary (Terminus escape) and The Grove (Carol killing Lizzie
Stopped watching after season 4. Show has been shit since they left the prison.
>missing season 5
oh no no no no
Season 4B-6A had the kino Rick arc
how do you know its shit if you stopped watching?
stop memeing
the best stopping point for this show is Season 6 Episode 13.
You get all of the based Rick stuff including him leading a massacre of that Savior outpost, and then in the next episode gunning that one savior down with no hesitation.
Nope. Season 5 was the most kino season. Don't @ me
I miss him
I don't. Kenny I still kinda miss. btw I'm glad Tara died and I like every season of the show.
connie a cute
I don't know if you still care but the finale of Season 4 comes out tomorrow
Wouldn't blame you if you dropped the game a long time ago but even though Telltale went tits up, Skybound stepped in to finish the game. Lee has some cameos in Clem's dreams as the voice of her conscience.
the peak of this show was seeing the kino ham acting from rick, the governor, negan and so on.
is there anything even like those characters in the show at this point?
Not right now. Alpha is far less interesting than she was in the comics and she was never that great to start with.
You can stop watching after No Way Out and literally every characters plot thread gets wrapped up. It makes for a kino ending where the final arc involves the heroes rebuilding a society and joining together to defeat the dead. The worst of humanity proves they can be redeemed (Morgans arc with the Wolf) and in the end Rick proves hes done it all for Carl, leaving an ambiguous ending where he wakes up mirroring Rick in episode 1.
Yeah you lose the kino of 701, but there's so many shitty decisions from that point on the show takes a nosedive.
Alternatively the end of season 8 makes a good finale if you really like the Negan arc that much.
Yeah there was never a more satisfying TWD moment after the church scene.
I finished at the end of S8. I feel like S8 is the better ending.
Season 7 and 8 do have a lot of great scenes. But the series really never gets back the steam of season 5 and most of 6. Carl dying just really hurts the second half of season 8 so much from a plot standpoint. Season 9 however is a horrible mess.
701 is the best episode in the series.
meme
season 9 is the best yet
>the current 'fans' or at least viewers of the show think s4-5 is good tv
>no one even mentions season 1 which was the only time the show was ever good, the only time it ever portrayed anything that even remotely resembles a post-apocalyptic world
it's literally been yeehaw with zombies for 8 season now
Woah stop showing your reddit cards guys it is really embarrassing. We all know Yea Forums is reddit central but fuck you dont have to make it so obvious.
OP here, I haven't seen the latest season and I don't consider myself a fan of the show anymore. I'm a fan of Seasons 1-6.
This is my ranking of the seasons I've seen:
>Season 1
>Season 5
>Season 4
>Season 2
>Season 6
>Season 3
>Season 7
>Season 8
There's a big gap between Season 3 and Seasons 7-8 in quality. I didn't even finish Season 8.
The current season is okay but that's just the Whisperers litteraly carrying the show
How are you dealing with the loss of /our girl/, lads?
>Will The Walking Dead ever be this good again?
>Enid dead
No.
I view it kinda cynically, it's the same feeling as when Jeffrey DeMunn wanted off the show, I guarantee she left because Chandler Riggs got fired. Angela Kang is doing an amazing job with the years of fuckups left on her plate, but I don't think this show has ever managed a single season going as planned. Season 1:
>there wasn't supposed to be the CDC
>the season was supposed to be longer
>they were supposed to have visited and left the Greene farm by the end
Season 2
>half the season wasn't supposed to be taken up by looking for Sophia
>they were supposed to do the tank walker story
>there were supposed to be flashback cameos of Dale saving Andrea and Amy in the chaos of Atlanta falling apart
>there were sypposed to be other sorts of anthology-style stories and flashbacks like that and the Atlanta napalming
>we were stupposed to get a whole episode of the group returning to the nursing home for shelter and finding all of them massacred
>Shumpert was an extra there, there was probably supposed to be a story of him being the last survivor and ending up at Woodbury
>Dale wasn't supposed to die, as mentioned
Season 3:
>the whole season finale was supposed to play out differently
>the ambush in the prison was supposed to be brutal with Woodbury people being gunned down, caught in traps, killed by walkers, etc.; I think the dubious line about it being a "slaughter" was a holdover that they never reshot
>Andrea was supposed to live and take over Woodbury
It just never ends with this show. Nothing ever feels genuine because it's well-known what a clusterfuck is going on behind the scenes.
After that 6 years break show went crazy. Just shame Jesus died
Enid didn't want off the show. She wasn't told her character was going to die for certain until a week before filming, and she had to email them to get that information at all.
I'm so in love.
I love her, the best character
AYO RICK
And you are in luck..she is available!
Her old boyfriend left town on a pike.
She has mental health problems, user.
It's better right now. That wasn't even that good of a season.
They just did that, dude.
>Stopped watching at a certain point years ago because everything that's happened since that exact moment, which I haven't seen, was bad.
Season 7 premiere is the single most kino episode of any television show I’ve ever seen. Andrew Lincoln’s performance is unreal. Shame the show took the steepest nose dive imaginable immediately after that.
A solid turd is better than spraying water out of your ass.
ABSOLUTELY CUTE
Andrew Lincoln’s performance is unreal.
this. nigga barely had any dialogue in the episode but fucking killed it. the emotion was so real.
e-mail me when the Rick movie comes out
YOU WAS GOOD TWD BUT THIS ISN'T ANYMORE LIKE IT WAS BEFORE
Someone post the Rosita / Gabriel / Eugene cuck scene please was so fucking funny
>lets introduce 5 new characters
>a fat musician
>a cholo with jail background, doesn't go anywhere without her knives and has trust issues. Also bisexual because why the fuck not.
>an asian diaspora with English accent, good with bows and also lesbian
>a negress who is mute
>a young girl(boy) who is the sister(brother) of the mute
They just couldn't come up with new characters without default backgrounds. Everyone has to be so goddamn unique.
Finale of this season better stir some shit up. I don't think I'm going to keep watching this show if these five are gonna be the new faces of the show. At least they got rid of Tara and Michonne will be gone in the next season, but I would choose those two over these five failures anyday.
based fleeting attention bro
I'M GONNA SAY IT
N
I stopped watching/caring after season 5, do they manage to find a cure?
Cute but they won't pair her with Daryl because rabid fangirls, the only ship they'd probably accept is Carol x Daryl but I think that ship has sailed since Ezekiel.
There are people in this thread who think season 2 was good
There are people in this thread who think season 3 was good
There are people in this thread who think the cops in the hospital arc was good
>I think the dubious line about it being a "slaughter" was a holdover that they never reshot
That was the funniest part, didn't they just all get scared and run away?
>Implying it was ever good
The best it's ever been has been a 7-8/10 show. Right now it's a 5/10, which is an improvement over the 3/10 seasons 7 + 8.
It's still not worth watching, there's way too much other television on cable / streaming to waste time on this shit anymore, especially with half the cast dead and done with the show.
Yeah I'm really warming to her
It's a pity she's chained to that ape-faced blackamoor that hangs around with her
Season 2 was unironically the best season of TWD.
If you're retarded, sure
Stop following meme opinions and think for yourself.
I watched season 1 and 2, and season 1 was fucking miles better. You are insane.
Idk that moment they have where he trusts her to take care of the Dog is a real relationship tease desu
we have lydia now
thank god i aint the only one, the episodes where they are separatedon the train tracks and that gang of rapists were after some young carl ass was prepper-core survival kino.
jesus christ on a stick
they only killed her because they couldnt afford to keep draining those fat fucking milkers
Show is much better after Kang took the reigns and Gimple fucked off, pace is much faster now but there's still too many fucking episodes. Needs to be 10 a season at the most, 16 is insane and leads to gratuitous filler
i would love for her thighs to be the last thing i see before death
wow I'm sad but also horny
sat around washing laundry in a tub on the farm talking about laurie's roastie behaviour and shane chimping out whist based daryl does something productive and looks for the little girl is not what I'd call kino.
I'm going to watch this no matter what they do.
was anyone underwhelmed by this? They used one liner charcters except tara and enid, both on whih have become tertiary in the past few seasons. And there was not cat and mouse chase. When Henry went off I thought, oh shit, the pike scene is coming up,then flat as fuck.
They should have had that barn scene that the Arab described with some hope of saving them, but when the heros got there, it was too late.
that's what Fear the Walking Dead could have been
but that went to shit even quicker than this did
She gets shit on for becoming a hambeast and being center stage in the absolutely garbage Oceanside subplot but I liked Tara desu she was cute and likeably quirky
The tension between shane and rick in S2 was better than just about everything that came after it. Even though so many fucking retarded decisions were made in S2. The governor was a way better foe than Negan. At least in the show. I honestly can't believe I put up with this show as long as I did. Can't remember exactly where I stopped caring at all, but it was after Carl died, and before Rick rode off on a helicopter or whatever? lel. I still keep up a bit though, just to see where we are at. The show it just so horrible now.
why is morgan ruining everything?
Where are we now in the comic?
>roastie whores utterly BTFO this ep
They're going to let Negan out to crack some heads open now right?
Roughly Issue 144 is what this episode is equivalent to.
Why does season 2 get so much hate?
I really liked it and it had some good episodes.
I like it and it's one of my favorite seasons.
Maybe it's because I marathon ed the first 3 seasons and the show had a fresh taste in my mouth, but I think after killing Shane, the show kind of lost it's edge.
Pic related, my favorite moment.
Issue 190 comes out next week. The current storyline is really fucking boring and feels like a total retread of the Alexandria arc, I hope the TV show remixes the shit outta it
And what number is the most recent issue
>tfw no crazy Scientologist milkers
When they fuck are they gonna let /our guy/ be the fucking protagonist already? They've been teasing his redemption all season, let's get on with it. With Rick gone we fucking need him as a lead more than ever to help fill that gap, Daryl ain't enough
Currently the comics are at Issue 189. Issue 190 is about to come out, releasing April 3rd.
Fuck she's so damn cute. I hope Carol doesn't kill her
>The governor was a way better foe than Negan
fuck of m8, that silly plastic eye patch and that lanky bastard david morrissey are laughable. He acts like some rootin tootin wild west sherriff with that duster and waist coat, he is faux hard and has no presence. shit villain expect during his Hershel encounter.
Game lost its charm when people realized that literally none of their choices mattered
>Season 9 however is a horrible mess.
>Season 7 and 8 do have a lot of great scenes
hahahaha what the fuck
pretty solid opinion there
>They just couldn't come up with new characters without default backgrounds. Everyone has to be so goddamn unique.
why do you want this? This is how you get boring ass characters
I'd say either 6x9 or 5x16. 6x13 leaves too many open ends with the Saviors. 5x16, at the gates of Alexandria, is the kino ending
so you're telling me henry didn't even get to bone lydia before he died?
No, Lincoln was the only good actor. I thought JDM was supposed to be good but he's fucking awful as Negan
5x11 not 5x16
The outpost attack was such a cool scene
Also season 9 is upper tier.
Sasha?
Holy shit she's ugly
>finale promo pic has Negan out of his cell
Yeah, I'm thinking he's back.
>I'd say either 6x9 or 5x16. 6x13 leaves too many open ends with the Saviors.
But you can just simply assume the Saviors were just a group trying to seem like they were bigger than they were with the whole Negan thing and it works out. It's such a shame to miss "What?" and the Outpost ambush
Hell, actually 6x12 would be a better stopping point if you just ignore the very end of it where the Saviors have kidnapped Carol and Maggie.
>5x16, at the gates of Alexandria, is the kino ending
that was 5x11. It's a great stopping point for sure, but I don't like it since we miss the great Alexandria stuff in 5x12-5x16, and some of the good moments in 6A/6x09.
What do you think the Negan encounters are? lmao. That's some of the cringiest dialogue ever. All that lean back shit. Fucking hell. It's like it was written by a 13 year old. trying his hardest to be edgy.
THATS MY GF YOU ASSHOLE
When white men leave quality goes down.
Life imitates art
you can see cuffs and chains on him
can always comfort yourself with some sweet animated clem r34
Webm user can you grab one of Connie saying goodbye to Daryl and him asking if she'll feed Dog
The finale is confusing the fuck outta me, so this blizzard is so massive that they're essentially all leaving their communities to try and escape it? And they have to take Negan with them?
this show would only start to get good if they acted like human beings and rebuilt society instead of acting like they're from mad max
they ran into the storm as they were traveling
Mad Rick arc was kino. Show was finally gaining momentum back. Sad he left, but it had to be done.
how would have Yea Forums reacted if doges head was on a pike
They kissed a few times and held hands. He got to first base at the cost of starting Alpha off on her revenge tour.
i thought it was only kingdom who were abandoning their settlement
fukn kino, fuck dogs
Would have been fucking stupid
>lots of enid webms
>no connie webms
someone please
Did she lose a kid
No shit people are underwhelmed. You use a bunch of fucking "whos" and characters people don't care about and throw them to the wolves to try and act like you're still the show where anyone who can die will die and it's crazy and unpredictable and PLEASE watch our show.
It's been years since anyone gave a shit about anyone because zombie fiction is lazy soap opera bullshit where you just try to make people care just enough about characters who were created solely to die that they feel a tinge of disappointment or sadness when they're inevitably killed. Plus for the politically minded, there's the fact they actually avoided killing two minorities in favor of killing off even more white people.
Ratings are tanking for a fucking reason, people are tired of the spineless bullshit. Killing people off isn't cool or edgy anymore. It's par for the course. Especially killing characters that don't have any relevance to the story anymore.
tfw no autistic whisperer gf
is this really the new main cast? the fucking PC patrol? daryl and carol have always been a joke to me as the token redneck terminator with "le cool crossbow" and the girlpower trope, and there's pretty much nobody left after that with any real ties as the old cast, is there even a point in watching anymore? the show looks like it's at the lowest point it's ever been and for the last 3 seasons i was skipping 70% of every episode anyway
Say what you want about the show but Andrew Lincoln was ALWAYS fantastic in his role as Rick.
>Nothing happens
>Walking
>Meet new people
>Don't trust them
>Kill zombies
>We trust them
>Whoops they weren't that good after all
>Kill most of them, acquire a few
>Rinse and repeat
Seriously who the fuck still watches this?
I didn't even recongized half the randoms the Whisperers beheaded.
This is was kino and so was the scene where they were going to get their throats slit, but I still think the comics handled this way better. The subtlety it had of never showing the violence, only the bloody weapons was kino. They never truly explored Rick's willingness to torture and the way it haunted him.
Is the Commonwealth arc any good?
>find new city with 50k survivors
>corrupt government subplot
She looks delicious
It's honestly fucking boring as hell and they did my boy Dwight completely dirty
>no more Enid
No it won't be. Genuinely the only thing that pissed me off this season
It was there magnum opus and they knew it. It will NEVER surpass that moment and they know it. Everything after was awful compared to that moment, and the comics layed such great groundwork. The war with the saviors is the best part of the comics
It fucking sucks. Dwight was going to make it interesting, but Rick "no fuck that" Grimes thought otherwise.
It's been a slow burn so far, but things have been ramping up recently and the next few issues are looking to be more climactic
This part had me crying. His performance was so raw and real that I was right there with Rick in that moment. I could feel every emotion. The snot bubble and everything sold it. Who was Andrew Lincoln before The Walking Dead? How'd they find such talent
>tfw when I had a crush on a deaf chick from work and Connie brings all the feels back
There is no way to do the “scientific zombie outbreak” and not have it be shit. Misery porn is lower brow than actual porn.
The TV show is unlikely to ever get there.
Dwight's death was pretty good, but yeah it needs to pick up pace. Seems like the next few issues will, and then we will get more based Rick scenes.
>tfw comics still have Rick and Carl
>tfw comic Negan is much better
Where can the story even go after Commonwealth
Is this Lydia? How am I even remotely supposed to care about her without Coral tapping that ass? They have ruined so much potential. Then again Chandler Riggs is a nigger faggot
They're only really a season away from the beginnings of the Commonwealth arc at this point, assuming the Whisperer war takes up the entirety of season 10. You're fucking retarded if you think season 10 will be the final season. Yes the viewership has plummeted but it still gets okay ratings and they haven't even cancelled the spinoff yet. They're doubling down with a third spinoff and the Rick movies so obviously they're still riding this train to the ground. Got another three years at least I reckon before the television brand collapses.
How exactly could the comic possibly end? I’m not a big fan of pointless never ending stories about that only exist for the sake of providing unending shock value that never goes anywhere. Are they just planning to go until they cancelled?
Still not sure how I feel about Dwight's death. He was acting like a loose cannon to be honest, but he was pretty based for a while.
>>tfw comic Negan is much better
Negan won't be anywhere near this storyline, Kirkman pretty much confirmed as much. Also fuck you, JDM is kino.
Comic Negan is vastly superior is just about every way, not to mention he can actually fucking swear
I'm more upset at how retarded Michonne was for trying to set up that meeting with the Governor. What the fuck did she think was going to happen, Dwight was clearly unhinged and wanted blood at that point, Rick was right she absolutely got him killed
Damn.
Yeah, this was the last good episode.
You forgot
>let's introduce 5 new characters
>also let's get rid of most of the original characters
>This season is great.
Agreed.
This season kicks ass.
I'm glad Rick called her out on that shit at least. Same with him calling out the governor's shitty son. Now you know that's going to be a plot point later when he tries to kill Rick
here you go
That's why the last good episode was 7 01.
i stopped after watching a few episodes of season 8. how long do i need to suffer till it goes good?
>The governor was a way better foe than Negan.
The governor was babby's first villain. He was the tutorial level for Big Bads.
bonus webm
Based and rickpilled
Just finished latest episode of a surprisingly interesting season. So they ended up losing 10 of their own just to save the girl. Idiots.
>those looks he's giving her
Daryl "Fixin' to stick his dick in a mixed nigress vixen" Dixon
>tfw comic Negan is much better
No actor could touch comic Negan. JDM is knocking it out of the park in his own right though.
>those fags that think Henry Rollins should have been Negan
JDM has brought such a huge amount of swagger and charm to the role that has fleshed the character out in his own unique way, even when the writing was letting him down from being a true translation from the comics. I can't see anyone else as live-action Negan anymore.
Season 9 has been the best season since season 5so far, and there's certainly a conversation for it being even better
Losing Rick and Carl has made them actually get creative with adapting the comic, and Daryl (who I hated throughout seasons 5-8) actually works as a main character.
Daryl works as the main because he's always the one who's eager to get up into the action, he's a good POV character. Especially now that he gets the good story lines.
>Her old boyfriend left town on a pike.
Why couldnt they have just killed carl like this? What was the point?
It's really impressive how well Kang has handled both Rick and Carl's loss. Like you mentioned, Daryl has made a pretty smooth transition to the lead, and it actually is refreshing to see him get more growth and meaningful development after stagnating as a character ever since...fuck I think the last time he was interesting was when he was paired with Beth? Pairing the strong and silent type with a deaf woman is also a brilliant move, Connie is instantly likable and the pairing is charming together. Also the actress who plays Judith is way better than Chandler Riggs ever was even as an adult, and her relationship with Negan is more than making up for the loss of the Negan/Carl relationship
I think Enid was ridiculing his dick size
Was it kinoshadowing?
Completely agree. I'm down with everything they're doing this season. Personally, it's my favorite even though it might not be objectively "the best".
It's refreshing and I'm excited about TWD again. I watched the leaked version of yesterdays episode and was still exciting for it to come on again later that night. It's dope.
Judith and Negan being bros is pretty cool. You know the next time Judith gets into some shit she knows who to call. Although I suspect they'll sic Negan on the whisperers like the comics.
it never was good.
after season 2 it became unwatchable.
have sex
Prequel series that starts in the nineteenth century when?
I kinda liked the Roadmen. A little underused but I guess somebodies got to die.
>every character is either a minority, in an interracial relationship or gay
>Judith, a cuck baby, is the only legacy left of Rick
It can only get worse from here.
>I'll be back soon
Yeah, if they can stick the landing with the finale this might be my second favorite behind 5. Although now that I think about it even season 5 had that garbage hospital filler arc in the first-half that brings it down a bit. 9's more streamlined nature and faster pace has been such a breath of fresh air after what a slog 7 and 8 were.
I'm really curious to see what they're going to do with Negan's Whisperer arc. I really don't see them giving Alpha her comic death, I think they'll want to keep her around longer than that with how good Morton is in the role. Plus I feel like they're setting her up to be killed by Carol after Alpha made things super personal by killing Henry, which would be more satisfying than her comic death anyway. Negan's already been remixed to shit (having his breakdown with Maggie so early has really flung his comic timeline all over the place) so they could really do anything with him. I do think at the very least Michonne will let him loose to fight in the official Whisperer War once it starts.
>this is the last time they spoke as friends
>Telltale Games will remember that
Really though ignoring the Hospital scenes specifically(which really are just painfully boring) the rest of the episodes from that arc were great.
RIP replacement Carl. We hardly knew you and hardly cared.
>Bad Guys who never used excessive violence
>Converted to Good Guys because they want to watch movies
>Show up in the nick of time and save the day several times
>Go out in a blaze of glory saving the hostages
Truly /ourguys/. ;____;7
>Telltalle Games is dead
Always made me laugh when I saw this and then the character dies shortly after.
>episode opens with white couple getting murdered
>Lesbians come out
>Enid dies, destroying another white couple
>Henry dies, destroying another white couple
>Only black men and women at sign the constitution
Really hard not to be racist when they are so fucking blatant about who they are targeting. Also having to deal with Henry's insufferable, bleeding heart weakness for half a season only for him to get staked was such a fucking waste of time. This show is such a train wreck I'm almost cheering for the whisperers because Daryl and Carol are the only two people left on the show that make it bearable to watch.
Last thing I remember from watching this show was when Beth went missing and showed up in a hospital or some shit. Can anyone tell me when that was specifically?
>Those who were let go reported they were given no warning, had to leave the office building within 30 minutes of the company's decision, received no severance, and only had a limited amount of time on their health care benefits.[39] Melissa Hutchison, the voice actor for Clementine in The Walking Dead games, said that the news came in the middle of a recording session which they had to immediately end.[47] On September 24, the former staff were allowed to return to the office within a three-hour timeframe to gather any belongings they did not manage to collect in the 30 minutes following the majority closure decision.
Damn, they got shut down quick.
>Daryl and Carol are the only two people left
They're also the only season one survivors.
>they never got to watch their movie and shitpost irl about it
Fuck it hurts bros
i didnt realize the nigg was a girl until like 2 episodes ago
I just wanted to protect her
Beginning of season 5.
This season is the first time in a long time that I'm actually looking forward to Sunday nights again more than any other night. Last week's episode kind of sucked but other than that, this season has been kino and they have done the Whisperers 10 times better than I expected.
she's a cute
Thanks
It was some crazy shit. All those projects are just gone now and will never be finished,
season 1 was the only good season, and even then they had already jumped the shark with that finale
When will her and Daryl fug
Another piece of plot that went absolutely nowhere. Also note that Maggie completely forgot her sister even existed until the episode they find her.
I was gonna debate you but... you're right. Season ones finale was shit and everyone ended up regretting making that episode.
If anything they should have built on the finale. Why tease the audience with answers about the zombie virus and then drop it completely?
Why did they shitcan Darabont anyway?
They dropped it until the finale of season 2 from what I recall. Shane dies and then Rick reveals the doc told him everyone is infected and were all doomed.
if you're talking about the darkie to tara's left, then I have some bad news for ya
From what I hear about some of the later seasons they tease it again with a character pretending to be a scientist with information about a cure but then reveal that's bullshit as well. I don't know, I guess knowing about the origin and cure of the disease isn't necessary but it could have given the show a sense of direction as least.
Long story but to cut it short
>Darabont wanted shorter seasons with a bigger focus on writing and to allow the budget to be used to make those episodes really good
>AMC threw a shitfit when they realized it would make less money because less episodes = less advertising
>creational control becomes a big issue
>also pay disputes
Not just with Darabont either, a lot of the original staff from season 1 and 2 left when Darabont got shitcanned.
Just got around to watching the latest episode and it gets to the heads on the pike scene. I recognized Henry, Tara, Enid, and the old lady who was carrying around the baby earlier. But the rest of those people were literally who.
Because Darabont was in charge for season 1 and he wanted to take the show in a radically different direction than the comics. Exploring evolving zombie intelligence (you'll see the zombies in season 1 using tools and mimicking human movements and shit) and more world-building. After he was canned though they dropped all that shit and stuck closer to the comics
Pleb tier opinion. I mean Season 1 is definitely fantastic, even the ending, but it's not the only good Season. Season 5 was the last good season, Season 6 was kind of transitional, and after that it's garbage
Yeah Eugene is the fakeout scientist. The comics don't even reveal the cause so it would've been a major diversion for the show.
If you're going to watch the show, watch it until Rick's exit and stop. Though the ideal stopping point is the end of season 8 when Negan is imprisoned and the communities start to rebuild and band together.
Lydia is a good girl irl
Yeah I've been thinking about giving the show another go. I just finished a Dexter rewatch anyway so I feel I can handle just about anything.
I kinda agree, but I also think that Carol is the only one of the surviving crew that will respond with the brutality that the situation warrants.
S1 was the last time it was good
They should make each season be a brand new scenario with a brand new cast. Itd start with zombie apocalypse and follow them until they all die. Then a new season would start
No shit? I just did a Dexter rewatch too and stopped after season 4. I've seen the whole show before but it really tanked in season 5 when all the writers changed.
Imo just watch to the end of season 8 and stop there. The show was already bad by then but it's not as bad as it is now.
Yeah, that absolutely sounds amazing.
>Not just with Darabont either, a lot of the original staff from season 1 and 2 left when Darabont got shitcanned.
My sister worked in the stunt crew and as random extras in season 1. She was kind of shocked when everyone was pink slipped.
well here's my truthful complete take on it
1: great
2: dogshit
3: dogshit
4: surprisingly good
5: decent
6: steep decline
7: stopped watching
>2: dogshit
bait
>3: dogshit
I can understand this for most of the season, but not for the first couple episodes and the one where Morgan comes back
>season 2: lets walk around a farm looking for a girl for the entire season
He's right, it was shit. Season 3 was pretty good though.
Even if they weren't as good I still did enjoy watching 5-7 to an extent. 8 was unforgivably horrible though. It starts off as such a unique show, it's just a shame it didn't get the justice it deserved.
Thanks for the help by the way
It wasn't though. It still had some Darabont influence in it(some episodes even still had fast-moving walkers) and the Rick vs Shane arc was unironic kino
It's weird to think about what could have been. But AMC got their way and won I guess, since it's milked this cow for everything it's worth. I believe Darabont did win in court recently, I forget what for but it was about unfair dismissal I believe.
>a fucking zombie apocalypse
>season 1 had city action, scavenging for food, massive hordes of zombies
>now let's turn the whole thing into a soap opera about quiet farm life with only the occassional zombie showing up here and there
>we'll throw in one massive horde at the very end though just to remind people it:s about ZOMBIES
>btw let's also go ahead and kill off the best character of the show
season 2 was hot garbage
alll that Alexander needed to do was build a better walll- prove me wrong
Season 5 was the Edward James Olmos season wasn't it? I can only vaguely remember the seasons after but I know that I didn't like them, and that I especially hated the final season. The ending was absolutely terrible AND that wasn't mean to be the ending either, they actually fucking planned on another season of him doing his thing while being a trucker.
I really should watch it again then. I can sort of remember some good episodes but I always think back to all the walking around on the farm.
This man was going to turn Tara straight.
It's much better when you rewatch it. When it was airing day to day it could certainly feel like it was dragging forever, but it's actually pretty good when you can binge multiple episodes at a time. The second half as a whole feels a lot better pacing-wise too
I'll watch it again. I've had almost the entire show sitting unopened on my shelf for a while so I'll binge it this week.
Season 5 was a bunch of serial rapists. Edward James Olmos was season 6 with the religious killers. I can kind of understand why 5-7 failed, but 8 was just inexplicably bad. Nothing they did made any sense so I honestly try to forget about it.
that was darabounts plan. each season would be a new cast. remember the zombie soldier in the tank with rick? S2 was going to tell his story. the actor had appeared in The Mist
I probably won't bother with the later seasons. I hate to admit it but Dexter hasn't aged terribly well and I was a big fan back when it first came out. Weird to think back to a time when I was watching it as it came out. Season one was 13 years ago, feels weird man.
lol he thought lydia was going to suck on his worm
Really? Now that would've been some interesting shit. WD really just passed over the whole world coming apart and I really wanted to see more of it.
She looks much much cuter with the hair tied back. It's like the movie cliche where the dowdy girl takes her glasses and shit and is a knockout, the second she was around Daryl she started prettying herself up. I'm officially game for this pham here.
>outdoorsman hunter-tracker
>deaf-mute slowly teaching him her sign language, becoming a dead silent dynamic duo while out in the wilderness
>feral child with a heart of gold
>Dog
Something about it just works.
in an earlier script that was scrapped, doge was going to be one of the heads on a pike
Love how the loner Daryl now has this huge family now with a dog a qt waifu and daughterfu. Rick leaving really did wonders for his character development
i'm down with this shit
>Series about zombies threatening the lives of humans
>Zombies are no longer a threat
pretty much every "carol goes on a murder spree" episode are the highlights of the entire series
It was 13 episodes long when it only needed 3.
There were several episodes that did absolutely NOTHING for the plot or for characterization, most notable one being the one with the walker stuck in the well
There were 3 non-gay non-interracial relationships on the show this season.
Every single one got killed in the last episode, I shit you not
so triggered
>hey my girlfriend just told me about how she got harassed by a bunch of people
>I'm going to go leave her alone now lol bye
This was just done so that they could have him be alone so he could get kidnapped
The writing in this episode was really fucking lazy - they even point out how THEY COULDN'T HAVE KIDNAPPED ALL THOSE PEOPLE FROM KINGDOM
THEY ACTUALLY HAVE LYDIA HERSELF POINT OUT THAT ALL SHE HAS TO DO IS SCREAM, AND ALPHA GETS FUCKING KILLED BY EVERYONE COMING TO HELP
YET SOMEHOW THEY MANAGED TO KIDNAP LIKE 8 FUCKING PEOPLE FROM THE KINGDOM AND NONE OF THEM SHOUTED FOR HELP
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
The worst part is fucking retards are defending this shit
How many more seasons can they realistically have? Seems like they're coming to the end, no?
Ironically, Season 1 of TWD is when choices mattered most - not in terms of the overall plot, but in terms of how characters treated Lee
If you stick by Kenny he treats you really well and has your back, if you be an ass to him he'll be an ass right back - if you be a dick to Christa and Omid they'll fucking hate you right back too and the dialogue actually reflects that
Season 2 was quite possibly the worst thing Telltale ever produced, and I'm including that god awful Game of Thrones game they made
Tales from the Borderlands was really damn good, Wolf Among Us was pretty good
Fuck you, the ginger snaps cinematic universe is kino.
.very underrated.
Season 9 really has been his biggest time to shine since the Merle stuff in season 3, MAYBE the Beth stuff in season 4/5 at the latest but the hospital was pretty lame.
>interim leader of The Saviors
>writers let him actually voice strong opinions, with words, rather than grunts
>dislikes The Saviors because they remind him of his imprisonment there, and also the kind of people Merle was around all the time
>loses his best friend
>upgraded to outright main protagonist status with the highest billing
>spends years self-exiled to the wilderness out of shame for not being able to use his main claim to fame hunting-tracking skills to find Rick, just like he couldn't find Beth sooner, just like he could've find The Governor sooner
>a big relapse on the "outdoor cat" nature Joe the Claimer lectured him on that Daryl spent his entire stay at Alexandria trying to move past
>dire circumstances make him realize where he belongs again
>The Whisperers are the unsavory logical conclusion of that "outdoor cat" nature that he wants to avoid, to the point that Lydia accuses him of belonging with them more than he does in Hilltop
>realizes what a reflection of his own childhood and abuse Lydia is, to the point of recognizing her bitching scars not unlike the ones on his back
>is now becoming the kind of parent he never had to someone he feels he has to protect from the kind of parent he did have
>culminates in a direct parallel between both times he had to shield Carol from seeing her dead child, the first of which was another child of an abusive father he strongly identified with and tried to protect that set him on this path of feeling comfortable enough to integrate with and care for people in the first place
I gotta be honest, I really don't regret not having another season of Rick saving the day. Losing Carl really took the wind out of his sails and Daryl has become way more fitting as the center of the story they're trying to tell now.
how are there so many fat people in the show
like Ezekiel's mate being fat I can understand since he's been able to be well fed and has a high standing so he can get a bunch of food no worries
but the random guy from the new group who's been on the run for like 10 fucking years is even fatter
where the fuck was he getting his calories from exactly
Sometimes people are just fat because of genetics, not because they're eating a lot. Health problems can also make you fat.
i just want a cute deaf mulatto slingshot gf
how hard is that
Spoken like an Aussie
Spoken with truth from a Burger.
It really wasn't.
>Spoken like an Aussie
Don't be ridiculous, we can't go on Yea Forums unless we go into our browser settings and change a 0 to a 2. That's ridiculous!
Genetics don't change the laws of thermodynamics. Unless you're in X-men.
The episode before the season split was great
It was stupid that they timeskipped every winter so far, but at least there's no better time to pull one out than when some of the communities are starved for supplies because the lapse in trading and it's never been more dangerous to be out in the wilderness. They really addressed how "solved" the formula was by season 8. Ammunition is scarce, gasoline is stale, and any snow-dusted walker could be a psycho trying to gut them.
hilltop and alexandria had no problem growing food
>Alpha threatens with a horde of zombies
>right before winter starts
>when all the water in the zombies will go solid, making the zombies incapable of moving when exposed to the elements
she didn't think this plan through very well did she
The actual government who evacuated during Operation Cobalt coming out of their underground bunkers after the dead have withered and fighting to wrest control back from the leaders and communities that have developed in the new surface world.
so what caused the zombie outbreak
just tell me already
already
aliens
>Sometimes people are just fat because of genetics, not because they're eating a lot.
What's more likely, that you are nutritionally illiterate like so many people are, or that "genetics" can produce human bodies that somehow store more calories than the person eats
Heads on sticks
Toffee apples
Blatant clue to the outcome of the episode.
I miss shane posting
RECK, THREADS AIN'T WHUT THEY WUZ BEFORE NO MORE
Moon face
*rubs head*
Rick now listen, lemme tell you summin, you can Shane post yourslef
NO DONT YOU CANT SAY THE N WORD
>the games creators were so shit at writing that they couldnt risk you thinking the Lee scene was a ghost and had to full on point out reddit athiest style that it is 100% just her concious and he's not real for sure.
fantastic
yo this is an epic analysis, especially about Daryl being the parent to Lydia he wished he had, thank you user
lol is this nigga high?
>change a zero to a 2
tell me how please, i have been missing Yea Forums.
I stopped watching after the first episode. shit show for women
based clairvoyant user making fun of the retard above me
Yes, last Friday's episode
N'sane
>there are actually people who like this current season, which is easily worse than even season 2
This is objectively not correct, Season 9 is in the top 3 best seasons overall
RICK CARL HAS BEEN DEAD FOR 8 YEARS WHY HAVENT YOU ENDED THE SHOW RICK, IT AINT LIKE IT WAS BEFORE
i like it user
same but because of connie
This season’s been the best it’s been in a while.
Connie a cute.
yes me too user, i love her
Stopped watching after Tyrese died the most retarded way and they had a whole cheesy episode of people remembering based Tyrese. What a shitshow
They had a memorial episode for him? I thought he just died in the prison and you saw the body and that was it.
I hated that change to. Tyrese's storylines were all butchered. Remember his daughter dying in the suicide pact so he 'suicides by zombies' in the gym. Only to find him later having killed them all with a hammer unbitten? not in the show of course.
thats t dog
Lel oops. I'd long forgotten about him.
>spineless
that's teh word I was searching for, thanks user, it really was spineless. I was actually stiffling a laugh when we met the highwaymen and that guy was giving us a low growl and calling us "pardnah". Like yeah, we're all still on a high from Red Dead Redemption 2 buddy, you don't have to larp as one of t he characters. But I should have seen from a mil eoff they were bringing him in to be cannon fodder in a few episodes.
If they had killed Rosita like in the comics, it would have been great, with her being pregnant and all. Then Siddiq and Ezekiel could get into a scrap and blame each other, then based Eugene would bring them together and go kill the fucking Whisperers.
It's a viscious cycle now
>Ratings drop so don't risk our bankable characters
>Show gets boring thanks to plot armor
>Kill of a nobody to spark interest
>Ratings drop so don't risk our bankable characters
>ad infinitum.....
This show is utter trash.
It is nihilistic death porn and everybody should stop watching this shit.
I stopped after season two. Seeing that 8 more seasons of postmodern, nihilistic, brainwashing, gore-obsessed, empty, dumb, unbelievable clusterfucks of storylines and character non-development are to come.
I would recommend watching season 1 and half of season two. As long as frank darabont was showrunner. The cdc episode is especially good. Or just watch actually good zombie movies.
What really gets my jimmies rustled is the fact that this shit got season after season produced, while shows like Rome, Carnivale, Firefly or Hand of God get canceled after one or two seasons with totally butchered second seasons.
Imagine for a second what they could've done on these shows with the millions of dollars twd garbled up?
>tfw watching season 1 right now and feeling depressed as fuck that we never got more seasons like it
Recc me some good zombie movies though, some with intelligent zombies too. That angle was pretty cool.
>no rick
>no real negan
>therefore, no rick/negan conflict
>nigress prowling about with permanent scowl talking about safety
>no presense of screen besides her stupendous ass
>OG cast is nowhere to be seen except Daryl as they try and fill the Rick sized hole in the show
>Daryl is great but he was always the black sheep and can't become the leading man
>Alpha is just a greasy child molester who lives in a bivuac in the woods
>Blind priest is just some amish larper with a dumb hat talking about community
>Based Eugene has no really funny lines this season
>Gay Aaron is not imposing with his beard and dumb fucking arm
>A whole season about a fucking fun fair
>Whole episode about the guy from Moana finding a lightbulb
>Great and/or kino
the contrarian is strong is these ones
My favorite of all time is day of the dead. Go watch that first. It has a pretty smart Zombie in it, if you like that. Also great performances, great score and a villain you love to hate.
Of course Night of the living Dead. Although the Ending is shit. Stupid fucking edgy Romero.
I also recommend Return of the living Dead 3.
The Beyond if you like movies with dream logic.
If you like some comedy in a horror film, braindead (dead alive) and Re-Animator are classics. Also Return of the living Dead. Newer Shaun of the Dead.
Tv-series: Les Revenants
There is a replacement
The original Day of the Dead? It's alright but I'd prefer seeing groups that are intelligent.
>ROTLD 3
Ehhh I don't know man, I watched it and wasn't a fan. I loved the first one though, it was pure kino and is easily my all time favorite zombie film.
I'll check out The Beyond and Les Revenants since I've never heard of either of them.
Is this dude alive?
Nah he died about 3 or 4 seasons ago.
Yeah, the original.
I like ROTLD 3 because it is different. It's not the best, but it has a different angle than most zombie films. Also Melinda Clarke.
True. I've watched it twice but I haven't been able to like it. I guess I compared it too heavily to the original.
The second one also had highly intelligent zombies but it was more PG than M and honestly not very good. It also starred Dana Ashbrook before Twin Peaks.
you do.
After he knocks the bottom outta Lydia
>lanky bastard
JDM is the definition of lanky user
Does anyone else have the suspicion that the half season format is what is making this show shit. Having to scramble for a mini high rather than taking the time to build up to the conclusion? The pike scene should have taken a whole episode or two of kidnapping, escapees, splitting up and cat and mouse stuff to enact, but we needed to get a nice conclusion after Rick's exit and then build the tension back up in Part 2, so there's no fucking time left to really get into the whisperers.
