Nice try but you are missing a crucial element of the scene for that exchange to make sense. Bane says "No one cared who I was before I put on the mask."
Caring about him is what CIA asks about. If he manage to care about Bane, to love him, will he heal him? Will the terrorist "die"? Bane is scared that he will be hurt. CIA senses that and tries to comfort him, reassuring him about his strenght, but Bane corrects him, saying that he worries about CIA not being able to handle his sadness.
It was the last time they spoke as friends.

Bane says "they expect one of us in the Wreckage Brother," implying he believes the story CIA says that "the flight plan I just filed with the agency lists Smee, Maimen, Dr. Paveleer, but only one of you." and thus they need to have one mercenary in the wreckage. Yet Bane points out that CIA is not killing the mercenaries and is keeping them on the plane earlier, by pointing out "perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man, before throwing him out of a plane."
So why does Bane need one in the Wreckage Brother? He knows that was a lie. Also why does he transfuse Dr. Paveleer's blood into a dead body, as if they don't identity bodies through teeth or fingernails?
