Why do you hate black people so much?

Plot made no sense. Peele is a hack.

I guarantee that adjusted for inflation this is demonstrably false

This ability to think up new "Best opening for X movie in Y conditions of month Z with N attendance over F seats O times in a row" achievments will never cease to amaze me

white fragility the post

He should focus his hate on jews, they are the ones pulling the strings. I mean this Jordan Peele my ass will never make movies if it asn't for his jewish producer who does massive promo for his garbage movies

So what?

>Didn't understand it, therefore he's a hack
Get out

That user is right. The story to Us is nonsensical and full of plot holes. Quit trying to pull an Emperor's New Clothes argument on people.

Based demonic brainlet

Women love niggers. Anytime you're shocked something so retarded has made a lot of money realize you're not seeing all effort that goes into shilling towards roastie pig brains.

"#UsMovie wins best Cisgendered black family horror story since Madea"

Horror is a tiny, niche genre that's been basically dead for the longest time, that historically doesn't do that well in the box office since it only really appeals to a small selection of audience goers. Proclaiming yourself the "third best horror opening box office" is like giving yourself a pat on the back because you got the third best grade on a single spelling test in your "special" class out of like 10 other little speds. Good job, retard, but nobody really gives a fuck.

Americucks sure like their blacks

i dont hate them as individuals but i hate how every little shit they do is treated as something extraordinay.

take this pathetic cock sucking tweet: its a mediocre horror movie from an overhyped director making money because the media cannot shut the fuck up about this.

anything a black person do in america or europe is incredible, even the most pedestrian.

its only natural to get tired of this heavy fisted shit.

further, they racist as well, it looks like a nigger, doing a decent movie, with the help of a lot of whites, is something out of this world. respect should be treat these people as equals, not like retards who build a lego set, kinda.

high crime, low iq

I don't hear anyone talking about the first and second-best opening for a horror movie. Guess it's because they have white people in them.

it's called racism of low expectations, everyone knows blacks are criminal scum so anytime one ties their shoes without raping and killing we all have to act like Nigeria just landed on the moon

Don't forget "in America". Because the rest of the world doesn't give two shits about American White Guilt.

Every fucking one of these movies make only a fourth of the money in other countries.

Americucks and their "based negro" boost.

I liked it

Is there a lot anti white shit in it? Im seeing a lot of white cuckolds fishing about it

There's no race element other than one quip.

Is that really true? That seems ridiculous. Get Out was way fucking better.

Jesus Christ we have become idiocracy

Finally racism is over and everyone can shut the fuck up and go back to work

>In America.

Always remember this when you hear about best openings. Americucks can't live without their based negros.

They've slapped so many qualifiers on it that it's probably true. Meanwhile, it's not even in the top 100 opening box offices.

I have always joked about this, americans have such a boner for #1 that they make shit up

Is Jordan Peele half white?

>its a mediocre horror movie from an overhyped director making money because the media cannot shut the fuck up about this.
Mediocre films make money all the time despite bad reviews

It's that whole "participation ribbon" mentality.

Attached: black teens award.png (800x600, 729K)

Not him, but 70 mill for a movie what is not animated or capeshit, today is really a good opening

Both Key and Peele are biracial. Both have white mothers and black fathers. Jordan Peele's dad left him when he was a kid, and he was raised by his single white mom. Key was put up for adoption, and adopted by an interracial couple.

More likely that their definition of "original" can easily just be made to make this true

Can't find a picture of his mom you sure

is the movie good though?

At least people are watching something that's not capeshit. Somewhat based.

Attached: consider¨.jpg (600x600, 32K)

It’s alright, but it’s incredible compared to anything else that’s come to mainstream theaters in the past few months

Not particularly, no. "Oz The Great And Powerful" had a better box office opening (ranked 90 versus Us's rank of 115). Non-animated, non-capeshit. Also not a movie people hailed as a particular success or even as a good movie, I mean it's pretty much forgotten.
Keep in mind, I'm not saying Us is doing poorly. It's doing better than Get Out did, and is doing well for what they made. But throwing a bunch of made-up awards at its feet and acting like it's the second coming of Christ is ridiculous, and therefore I will ridicule.

Maybe you're just dumb bro.

vanityfair.com/hollywood/2014/10/keegan-michael-key-jordan-peele-comedy
>Of mixed race, the sons of black fathers and white mothers, Key and Peele—both are alumni of the Second City Chicago’s improv theater—are the comedy tribunes of the Barack Obama era...
blah blah blah. They've talked about it in other articles. You're free to look this up further if you want.

The plot was like one of Shamalans scripts, but for a movie of his that would have normally bombed in the box office for being so nonsensical and dumb. The twist I saw coming from after the opening scene. It was well acted and there was some creativity in this, but it would have been more interesting if there was more of the underground world and less time on the drawn out section of the middle of the movie where we are forced to go through the same old slasher horror story beats. Haven't seen Get Out but if it's like this I'll probably never bother with that one.

Yep. If anyone else had their name attached to this, it would have been a flop. Peele better hope his name lasts him a few more movies, because he sure as shit is out of good ideas.

>Not him, but 70 mill for a movie what is not animated or capeshit, today is really a good opening
For horror that is huge. A successful horror move can open with $10mil or less. Horror traditionally makes more of its money on secondary markets (dvd & netflix) than they do in theatrical runs. Horror films also cost a fraction to make and market than a traditional forced blockbuster hype machine. The return on investment is enormous.

Why do Americans love the negroes so much

Probably because he's black

Us had a larger budget and larger release than typical horror movies.

so let me get this straight, the US government made a population of psychically and physically connected americans in exacting detail to everyone that exists in the country, and then hid them all underground where they were able to live in their millions for several decades?

??????

Do Americans really do this?

Lol just turn off your brain

>avatar

Yep, Dancing with Pocahontas is indeed original

Daily reminder that Peele was raised by whites and his wife is jewish.

. You mean what people have doing since the invention of cinema? The meme is true. Women and blacks do something a white men has done and they are "brave and so creative and so original" i want off this planet so bad.

Why does it hurt your feelings so bad?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Us. The social commentary is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of sociology most of the layers will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Peele’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his storytelling- his personal philosophy draws heavily from biblical literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these commentary, to realize that they're not just scary- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Us truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the commentary found in Us’ body swap plot twist which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Jordan Peele’s genius wit unfolds itself on the movie screen. What fools... how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Get Out tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then, they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothing personnel kid

> Original horror movie.

get out is skeleton key, with inverse race and a worst ending and receive an oscar for original script.

and this fucking nigger receive like a puppy from a bunch of jews, ironically enough, being the puppet of people like the 'white' try hards from GET OUT.

so many layers of irony, thats brutal.

This explains it perfectly well. The whole
affirmative oscar shit needs to end. Nobody watches it anymore.

Those categories don't seem bullshit at all
Get angry at the easily manipulated morons watching this shit instead.

>original horror movie

what did he mean by this

Hola reddit

>Us had a larger budget and larger release than typical horror movies.
A whole $20 million. Still 1/10th the budget of a normal blockbuster.

being cheap is the only positive aspect of movies like this and A GHOST STORY - this one even cheaper.

i like to imagine coming back to that 80s formula of 1h28 movies that are cheap and fun.

US and GHOST STORY are just cheap.

As a mulatto I agree with this post but I'd like to point out I'm literally genius IQ (Mensa member) and have accomplished many things people would covet as an achievement here. Any time I encounter a poster like you IRL he preforms some weird mental gymnastics where he downplays anything I do. So again, I agree with what you said but you are likely full of shit and don't practice what you preach.

at least it’s not an alita thread

lmao

Yeah but how was the movie?
Lefty: ".........."

You're being inconsistent and disingenuous. You compare it to other horror movies to talk about how great its box office is doing, but then turn around and compare it to blockbusters to say it had a low budget. Fact is Us is a high budget horror film that's making more money than horror films usually make but also costs more than horror films usually cost.
So hey, let's be fair and compare it to a horror film that had a similar budget: It (2017). $35m budget, $123m opening box office.

Do liberals realize they're treating blacks like retarded children? Do they care? Praising them by putting their shit crayon artwork on the refrigerator...

Youre pretty much doing the same lol

You sound like you have a chip on your shoulder. Get off your high horse, Einstein.

Not at all. Not even "pretty much."

unironically congratulations for the things you achieve.

just dont forget that affirmative actions make people think that a black person or a woman or a latino, got something easier.

it sounds, at first, as something good to correct "historical injustices", but at the log run make every person who did not use it, look like is there because it took a shortcut.

meritocracy isnt perfect but its the only way to have a system that offer individuals incentive to became better.

but congratulations for you achievements, im sure you made more effort than jordan peele to become THE NEXT SPIELBERG HITCHCOCK LYNCH BERGMAN.

Be honest, how quickly did you guess the TWIST?

Attached: i cant see face.gif (220x124, 138K)

Dumb and violent is a bad combination.

I do have a chip on my shoulder. But I'm not on a high horse. I just wish more people had conviction, specifically on the issue that was brought up. I'd like to see more of a meritocracy in this country.

>heres what that means
>heres why that's good
>heres what you should think
it's no longer subtle

Stop talking about yourself
How many schools you shot up white man?

Is this a new pasta?

Thanks user. That genuinely made me feel better. And yes I used to hate Jordan Peele/Donald Glover with a passion. I'm kinda over it now but it's still frustrating everytime one of these walking minstrel shows sees success.

Mediocre horror/thriller movies make bank all the time though, and like it or not, it's far better than the average crap that gets put out in theaters.

At least "Us" tried to do develop its premise a bit over the course of the film, which is miles ahead of other recent home invasion movies like "the Purge."

I will say one thing to the credit of anons whining about black people though: If you replaced the black family with a white family, the movie (minus a couple of pop culture jokes) would be the exact same. They're the same bland horror movie family that you see in every stupid home invasion thriller.

statistical evidence and past experiences

Look like it

Literally just use google or archives you mouth breathers. No it's not pasta. I just typed it out.

>At least "Us" tried to do develop its premise a bit over the course of the film
Its premise and plot and everything about it is entirely retarded. I'd rather they didn't develop it if it's just going to turn out to be shit.

literally instantly, still enjoyed the movie though

It's pasta now

It's because it's like a fake sequel, sure it's unrelated to Get Out, but it's popularity is because of Get Out. It has a lot of the benefits of a sequel even though it technically is not.

Yes. It is riding on Jordan Peele's name. People are going to this expecting another Get Out. Honestly, Get Out was better because at least it had a point to it.

Its budget was on par with the nun. $20 mil is fucking nothing, a fraction of an adam Sandler shitshow.

$20 million is a lot for a horror movie. Happy Death Day 2U had a $9 million budget, and that was considered big budget horror. Adam Sandler doesn't make horror movies.

DONKEY!

Quit place was $17 mil. Nun was $21 mil. Us was $20 mil. It's not an unusual price tag these days for horror.

Get out was on the low end at only $4.5m.

Just came back. Masterpiece.
>BEWARE OF AOC and her red commies coming for your homes and land
>they will replace you with immigrants
>lose yourself in the cave of finding yourself
>also 11 rows of bunny cages ! 11:11.

Bird box cost $19.8m million too.

Quit pretending like big studio movie budgets mean anything. It is just jew pedo money laundering. If you ignored unions and other bullshit, and just made a movie based on the actual cost of making the film, all of these budgets would be revealed as utter fraud.

My thoughts on Us are captured pretty well in this exchange.

Attached: 1553534496563.png (907x1461, 217K)

>using his scapegoat.
Everytime..

'My' scapegoat, or reality? If you think that big hollywood studios don't inflate film budgets for money laundering purposes, you are a mongoloid.

I agree that it's poorly executed, but, personally, I'd prefer something poorly executed over a boilerplate home invasion movie.

That's obviously just my preference though; I fully understand why people would think it's a complete disappointment.

>the two Lupitas were le switcheroo’d le whole time!!
So the “real” Lupita explained the fake one’s plan to her? What?

>other big budget horror had big budgets
Wow.
>Get Out was on the low end
No. Let's examine this, shall we? Get Out came out in 2017. What other horror films came out in 2017?
Don't Kill It. Budget: $1m
Prevenge. Budget: $104,000
XX. Budget: $2 million
Phoenix Forgotten. Budget: $2.8 million
Killing Ground. Budget: $920,000
It Comes At Night. Budget: $2.4–5 million
That's not to say that there weren't horror movies with bigger budgets, but $4.5 million isn't in any way exceptional. It's pretty well normal for a horror movie that doesn't have any kind of brand recognition behind it, from a guy who was previously known for making funny comedy skits. Horror movies in general just have no budget.

It's not just poorly executed. It was a poor plan to begin with. In fact, it seems like they had no plan at all. I'd be forgiving of it if it had a good idea behind it, but there's no ideas behind it. I'd prefer they had made just a dumb home invasion movie, at least then there's a concept and idea, even if it's been played out and done before.

You know it would have been way better if they threw out the twist and didn't bother trying to explain the doubles desu

I think everyone agrees with this. The moment the explanation started I lost interest.
Granted, I was assuming we were getting a literal "shadow" of these people trying to kill the originals, which in itself would have been cliche, but making it a government experiment introduces so many plotholes that the movie now HAS to be a critique of social conventions because even an amateur can pick up on the many plot problems.

Better this than Captain Fungus. I saw it yesterday. It’s not amazing, but it’s decent.

Get Out also had a big advertising campaign that other horror movies don't have. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Get Out's advertising campaign was several times its production budget. Meanwhile, other horror films get no or minimal advertising, and what little budget they get actually gets put into making the movie.

WHAT DID THE RABBITS EAT?

He could have made the shadows a metaphor for the internet, for online anonymity, and it would have been a far, far better film. I didn’t hate it, just thought it could have been better.

They could have been a metaphor for anything at all and it would better than what we got.

>Jordan Peele is immune to criticism because he's black and the cast is black
Seriously? I heard this movie falls apart not even 20 minutes in and a lot are claiming it be to great?

I go on imdb and I see people say "why it RT giving this shit such a high score??"

because it'll be "MUH RACYSISTTT" if they call us a shitty overrated movie.

Don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed it. I had a great time *with* it. It had decent acting and decent direction, but the story was really aggressively dogshit. They severely overhyped the fuck out of this movie. If my expectations hadn’t been so high, I wouldn’t be so critical of it.

Also, there’s way, way too much “Character does creepy thing because it’s creepy” going on this entire movie.

Who knows, it might be good. At least it's not about racism (I think) and seems to hVe aj interesting premise.

>Best opening for a live-action original film since 2009
Now that's true horror. Original films can't be blockbusters anymore.

there's more of the slavery symbolic schlock in Us, only Jordan Peele uses it to talk about blacks being ''''''''imprisoned''''''' in a white judicial system.

Really sick of this race baiting shit.

AND it's a movie that's antisocialist. Checkmate, losers, looks like you have another blackie like Kanye who's off the reservation!

Yep.
Friend pointed out before the reveal they might be swapped, but I figured that it served no purpose (the copy lived most of the normal life, and had a family)

Whatever it was a good movie and Peele is taded lented and I'm glad he's being rewarded for his talents.

Apparently American Sniper and Inception are the only 2 live action original films in the list of TOP 50 grossing movies in the US from 2010-2019.

People who complain about keeping box office records, no matter who obscure, are very, very stupid.

The film is redpilled. Its about how blacks have it bad (shadow people) and whites have it good, but it's not the white peoples fault. Instead (((they))) did it as an experiment.

Haven't seen this yet, won't pay to watch it, just wanted to come back in here to point out that the jew who tried to pretend like hollywood doesn't use movie budgets for money laundering never tried to defend his shitty argument.

Your take on us is pretty similar to my own. My take was that the shadow people were ghetto blacks and the normal family was "white presenting" (aka intelligent and respectable) blacks (often referred to as coons by their ghetto brethren).
I'm sure a halfie like Peele has been called a coon plenty of times.

The tension evaporates five minutes after the doubles appear when it becomes clear no family member will get harmed.

The whites get shanked immediately. How many opportunities do the black doubles waste? Why go to these elaborate schemes like hunting the girl or drowning the dad in a body bag?

To back up my theory, the shadows can easily represent garbage black culture (gangsta rap, drugs) ultimately bringing down the black community. And who is often accused of engineering that?
The government [and by extension, (((media)))].
