I love The Leftovers but this made me cringe

Leftovers was a great idea but falls apart when you notice they didn’t think past the first season. It’s insane that so many plot lines start and just get ignored after.

I'm watching this right now, actually. I'm on episode 4 of the second season and it's still holding up so far. I hear it gets even better.

I really think it went downhill in s2
Sure it had some moments like the excellent purgatory scenes but it just ripped off better movies/tv shows
S3 was a dumpster fire and as an Australian it was just bad all round.
None of it made any sense and just respun shit from S2 and s1
Ending was horrifically bad and a intentional fuck you to haters of losts infamous ending.
10/10 first season aside the show is decent but that final season was like watching paint dry.
Fuck Damon lindlelof he copied the book almost verbatim but couldn't come up with anything decent for S2 and s3 which take place after the first and only book ended
Hence why we get epic le tweest got style shit

The OA is basically how people believe silly things to cope with trauma, and how those beliefs can spread to others. It’s a solid show built on a solid premise that is executed wel. Season 1 at least, haven’t knuckled down for season two yet.

The leftovers, originally, is about the stages of grief (denial anger depression bargaining) and how no one really ever gets to acceptance. As after a loss you are not the same and can never go back. lindelof did not understand this so seasons 2 and 3 are just retreads of the same bullshit he’s always done.
