He jumped the shark years ago, it is a little disappointing when you see some old film and realized he stole a action scene for it. He is such a hack in that way. Like the anime scene in kill bill where the girl shoots the guy under the bed is stolen frame by frame from another film.
This is true up to kill bill vol 2. Characters have long ongoing conversations that feel real and are interesting. As roger ebert said in Jackie brown, mitherfucker guy takes time to think, most movies the chatters don’t need to think, the screen writer has done it for them.
Everything past the nazi movie is terrible though, and the nazi movie his slick was already wearing thin
