It's not good.

jews and coalburners

It’s good

everything. this show is not good

The writing took a major hit around season 5, possibly in effort to justify a show about cops to a core demographic that hates cops.

The acting is still pretty good, which keeps me coming back, but the plot integrity and dialogue has really really gone south.

Has been hit or miss since season 3
Acting is usual solid but sometimes of the cast just decides to overact (particularly Melissa and Andy)
The last two seasons have really forced pandering episodes that could have actually been good if they werent so busy trying shove the message down our throats
Best episode of all time however is from season 5, "The Box"

i actually hope this is the last season.

Honestly this
As soon as the show started to tackle real world (((issues))) was one of the signs that it started to go to shit

Season 6 is a lot better than Season 5, writing is back on the upswing, but so are really heavyhanded social justice talking points. Further, whoever writes the show now has forgotten what made some of the characters funny. Rosa is boring now, Santiago is too one-trick, and Terry's nearly every joke has been "i like yogurt" for a few seasons. I'm glad Gina's gone, though.

meant more for this user but this user is also correct

Gina fucking sucked ass holy shit, how were the first few seasons even as good as they were with her present?

gina was the best character dummies

Her role was smaller, she was a great character for throwing in some additional jokes on top to season an episode, but when she got focused on she was insufferable as often as not. Her character was like Tobias's from arrested development, except that Tobias could stand on his own in scenes.

gina become progressively worse because she got more screen time and "character"
making her some holier-than-thou super-human just to compete with the rest of the cast was a mistake, she was much better as a side character like hithcock and scully

also, why is it we've never seen terry pull off some amazing detective work like everyone else has, including gina?

no
Holt is the best and Amy is best girl

>The acting is still pretty good
The acting is literally the worst part, and I love the show
Samberg is the only good actor on the show

Go to bed user the adults are talking
Makes sense. She just seemed like all of her dialogue and quips came directly from Twitter posts. I get that that's the point of her character, and I hate it

Well, I haven't watched it since Season 2, and it was still alright then, so you tell me.

it kept going for 4 more seasons

cast influenced writers

Brooklyn nine-nine and The Good Place is white liberals favorite shows right now

too obsessed with beating you over the head with wokeness in every episode. pretty much happening with like 90% of tv shows now. POST-DRUMPF COMEDY IS THE GREATEST, ISNT IT???

built on the flawed premise that the police are good people and our friends

Tell a hundred jokes per minute and hope one of them lands

>what went wrong
jabs against current administration.

They used to mostly land.

For you

>i actually hope this is the last season.
...didn't Fox just cancelled the series?

NBC picked it up within a day and produced the latest season

I've seen the first two seasons and all I can remember is how much I want to sniff Melissa Fumero's taco hole.

Same things that always go wrong with long-running series: pointless romance between male and female leads that take up too much time and produces drama, flanderization of characters turning interesting fun personas into one-note jokes, repetition, half-asses attempts at ongoing plot, wrong focus on character personalities.

Is that her brap face...
haha wouldn't that be so gross

I realised how little I gave a shit about Gina when I stopped 10 minutes into her farewell episodes because she was annoying the fuck out of me and I just gave up. The show has lost absolutely nothing.

>heavyhanded social justice talking points

the metoo episode can fuck right off, not once did they mention the constant sexual harassment towards terry from gina. you'd think they'd at least acknowledge harassment directed at men after crews himself was harassed.

and i don't like how they're handling hitchcock and scully now, they seem even dumber than usual
