There seem to be a great many of these. Are they all worth it? Any particular recommendations?

I think there is like 20. The earlier the film the better from what I remember. I don't remember the color films being good compared to the black and white ones.

Harakiri 1962
Sword of Doom
Yojimbo
Samurai rebellion

Shogun

Blade of the Immortal.

i always thought their armor looked silly as a child but now i can see it would be pretty freaky fighting a bunch of 5 foot tall black demons shrieking moonspeak and banzai charging

any historyfags know of some times where european knights had to fight the honorabu samurai?

Rurouni Kenshin (2012)

R A S H O M O N

WW2

Pretty much any time Kurusawa touches Samurai you get gold.

Seven Samurai
Yojimbo
Sanjuro
Ran
Rashomon
Kagemusga
The Hidden Fortress

There's probably several more I can't think of right now but just pick one.

Hitokiri

I've never seen it, but I think this is a joke.

it's not

13 Assassins is the greatest samurai film in a long time

They fought against a small group of Spanish conquistadors and where completely humiliated.

Space Samurai.

The Kenshin movies, all three, are good, but the first one is a step above, as is typically the case.
