Just started watching this dumbass show, what am I in for?
Watching LOST in 2019 for the first time
Other urls found in this thread:
absolute kino
3 good seasons and more loose ends than you can shake a stick at
The rest of y'all know when I durn to ya
>watching a show famous for turning into a clusterfuck shitshow with no real resolution
why. The entire point of the show seems to be figuring out the mystery (mysteries?) and it's ridiculed endlessly in pop culture for never answering them adequately. There's nothing to get out of it.
only thing putting me off. im 3 eps in so only another 120 to go or something like that
this show unironically ruined Yea Forums
It's the only show you'll ever see one time only because the way they handled the ending made it impossible to enjoy a repeat viewing.
>first time in 2019
Better late than never, freckles
I watched it for the first time in 2017 and I really enjoyed it. I knew of the end before starting it but I still loved the characters and their development. Desmond and Locke best characters.
I had two pages of bullet points for dropped plot lines just by the fourth episode.
>he thinks LOST was a destination, not a journey
How can you get pleb filtered this thoroughly?
entertaining for 3 seasons then a bunch of crap, also don't expect any of the mysteries to have satisfying answers (because they really don't)
Honestly stop watching after season 3. It will hurt you badly, but continuing to watch it will hurt you worse.
the journey turned to shit after season 3. keep giving excuses for shit writing though
on episode 4 and locke just threw a knife like a true alpha, already my favourite. Stolen any scene hes been in
A journey through what? Dropped plots?
YOU MISSED THE GREATEST TELEVISUAL CULTURAL PHENOMENON OF THE 2000S
NO POINT WATCHING NOW MIGHT AS WELL JUST KYS
D U R N
>i was 5 when series 1 started
too busy watching teletubbies and bob the builder, try that for some true kino
>ywn experience all thenepic Locke episodes for the first time again
Pretty jealous
don't forget to watch Once Upon a Time after you finish
yall know when i durn to ya
watch the first 3 seasons and then just pretend it got cancelled
is that why you still think they were dead all along?
So what was the point of the button in the hatch again? What if they just left it alone? What would have happened?
>3 good seasons
and 3 other seasons of pure kino
time shit
>just started watching
>posts the ending episode as the image with that filename
what did he mean by this?
God I fucking miss LOST
I haven't touched it since the original run, so refresh my memory: was S04 the point where they introduced time travel? From what I remember, it was the early part of S05 but I'm not sure.
The reason I'm asking is that I dropped the whole series at that exact point out of frustration. It gave way too power to the creators. I plan to re-watch it from the beginning one day, but this still bothers me...
that would be GoT
Lostalgia. The Lost threads here were the best ever...
he meant that it was time for a lost thread
honestly i just googled 'lost first scene' and saw this, pretty sure im getting shit spoiled tonight in my own thread
>Dude RAMDOM SHIT WHICH NEVER GETS RESOLVED
LOST in a nutshell
Who the fuck was the invisible guy in 'jacobs' cabin?
We never found out, did we?
>inb4 it was jacob
Even so, the entire thing with the shack was never explained.
> Guys we promise they're not actually dead.
> They're actually just in limbo! Death's waiting room.
time travel first came up at the end of season 3, when they reveal that Jack and Kate get off the island
Whoop. Someone got triggered.
Gave up in Season 2 (or 3?) a few years ago. Became too ridiculous. Read the wiki summary of seasons, which was kind of cool but not worth all the hours.
Watch Leftovers instead. Tighter and not as many unanswered questions.
the limbo was after they had all died, after the events of the show (or during for some characters obviously). christ, it's not that complicated.
the whole flashsideways limbo was just a nice send off to the characters, no real bearing on the plot from crash landing to plug plugging.
Watch it when I durn to ya
not really, you're just a brainlet who got pleb filtered. If you didn't enjoy the ending but watched up to it anyway, then you're a brainlet who didn't understand the series before then and kept watching for the pretty flashing lights
probably the same thing that happened when the incident happened in season 5. something about destroying the island. julia saved them during the incident, and desmond saved them when he turned the fail safe key
Yeah I know but it's disingenuous to claim they're not all dead only to end it with them all being dead.
A confusing ending. Have fun debating.
Now say that without crying
in the long run, everything ends with everybody being dead.
> Getting this assblasted because someone doesn't like your favorite show.
> Y-your just stoopid!
>island gets fixed
>new caretaker
>life goes on
pretty simple really. that was the biggest let down.
Fish Biscuits
It's funny because flashing lights as a distraction is basically what the show is all about.
The show went off the cliff, bounced down the canyon and explode with Donkey Wheel.
Up to that point, great show.
After that...pure drivel.
But are they all D E A D
You're in for it to be good and then a long couple of months raging at how shitty it got.
I'm convinced that they really intended from the start for the big reveal to be they were dead, but since literally everyone guessed that right away they had to scrap it. But then when the finale came around they had no big reveal. So they just went with the original botched one, and twisted it a bit.
no
>dumbass show
Just drop it if you can't appreciate it after episode 1. It'll just be to hard to follow for a brainlet like yourself.
well you are in for being a idiot since you clearly are itching for spoilers trying to discuss a show you haven't watched online
>ywn be able to shitpost during the high point of Yea Forums which was when lost aired
Tell me about the good ole days, bros.
true, but i feel like its been impossible to avoid vague spoilers over the last 9 years
I wish I saved the tweet that JJ sent Lindelof the night it ended. Something like "I hate you so fucking much right now."
Best part of LOST was watching it with the rest of the board. Kind of like GoT really.
>confusing
>christian literally explains everything
Brainlet
It was all in Jack's head they all died on the crash you retard
Vincent was such an awesome buddy.
Which Candle was the best though?
based
weak bait
Ah, thanks. I understand why people draw the line at S03 then. LOST as an experience was so bittersweet: waiting for new episodes week after week felt like magic, only to witness how it will never live up to it's potential nor tie up loose ends. At least we still have these.
Not even bait
The night of the finale here was a shitshow. It was amazing.
I binge-watched LOST at some point in the mid 2010's and it was still pretty gripping. I have the same issues with it that everyone else has though. By the end you realize that it's not the show you thought it was. But that's okay because you realize that you enjoyed the ride. I think it's still worth a watch. No matter who you are you will find a character to relate to. For most people it was Sawyer, Desmond, or Locke. Mine was based Jack. Plus it's kind of a television milestone, and it hasn't aged that much.
it starts going downhill halfway through season 3
> destination, not a journey
what desperate fans say to justify no satisfying resolution
>b-b-but it was about the journey all along. please ignore the fact I only started claiming this when the ending sucked
>no satisfying resolution
epic m8
Crushing disappointment.
Skip all of the final season, except for the finale, I suppose.
you got pleb filtered
I jumped in right before season 2 started, and watched each episode for season 3 and 4. I liked the whole mystery of it all, it was like that old show The Prisoner.
They have to explain everything now, Lost was the first show to spoonfeed the audience, because the audience was too fucking lazy to make up their own mind what was going on. Those same people are still snivelling about the ending to the Sopranos.
I LIKE shit that leaves a lot unanswered. But nooooooooo. They should have never revealed who Dharma was. The characters should have been saying "What the FUCK" up until the last episode, and boom, you're dead, sorry, no answers for you.
Very vague magnetic energy stuff would happen, and the very vague something under the island might come out.
That wasn't time travel, unless all the flashbacks in the first seasons were also time travel.
Reminder The nuke bomb is what created the hatch situation and the creators are retards
they are hallucinating, but they are all in the dream, but there are aliens watching, but they are all ghosts
>Showing that Jacob went into a shiny tunnel and came out 'changed' is spoonfeeding.
>incels raging over their shitty headcanon being challenged
I still don't know what this means
I wish the show even made a halfway decent headcanon possible.
DOG = GOD
L O S T
It's not that people wanted an explanation on everything it's that people wanted everything to actually have a purpose instead of a third of the entire series completely pointless.
>all those people that thought it was a dream cause the ending scene
lots of fun, dunno about the kids crying about losse ends, it was whatever
the constant is still the most kino episode i have ever seen
>it'a Kate episode
You're like a little baby
Based Lawnmower Man
LAPENIS DOES IT AGAIN
QUIT BEING SO PENISY LAPENIS
>No matter who you are you will find a character to relate to. For most people it was Sawyer, Desmond, or Locke
>tfw when it would be hugo reyes now because I made millions in crypto and am a lardass
