They are imperfect movies, but the original six had a lot of heart in them that makes them enjoyable

Luke blows up the Death Star.

Vader kills the Emperor and has a moment with his son before his death

Same with Alien or Terminator, the original films are now outnumbered by mediocre sequels. Star Wars was the first modern action blockbuster and was a landmark for special effects, I think the only films that come close to that kind of reception are the Avengers series.
