This is no mere trawler vessel. This is an ocean liner. It's hull is thick and it's bulkheads tight.

I would have gone with "ice". Missed opportunity.

But steel is stronger than ice...

They will break upon this flagship like rivets on steel. Ireland's hordes will drink and fight, we've seen it before. Workers can be replaced, ships rebuilt. Within this ocean we will sink them.

>Titanic has but one weakness. It's outer hull is thin steel for with a small Irish crew in space, which is little more than a tomb
>How? How can water undo steel? What kind of object can break down the ship?
>If the hull is breached, Titanic will fall.
>Even if it is breached, it would take a object beyond reckoning — thousands square feet — to pierce the ship
>Tens of thousands square feet
>But my lord there is no such berg

>shutitdown

Avoiding the berg would be antisemitic, captain.

Yes my friend and antisemitism is against human rights and no one is above human rights except us

The box office success of Titanic doesn’t prevent its place as part of the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises. Seriously each episode following the captian and his crew from Southampton to New York as they look upon the Atlantic is indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make the seas seem like the doldrums, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Cameron vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; he made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for the White Star Line. The Titanic series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-Carpathia series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the books were good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a ship left the shore, the author wrote instead that the ship “departed the dock”

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Spielberg’s mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that he has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Titanic by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Titanic at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King.” And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read “Titanic” you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

Is this the directors cut?

Yes. Technology has finally advanced far enough for the director's true vision to be realised on screen.

Well done
