Serious discussion. Could Deus Ex be adapted to the film format? Ignoring whether or not certain people would even allow such a thing, is it possible to bring this to the screen? If not through a movie or movies, then what about a series?
No. The things that make Deus Ex great can only be done in video games. I guess you could set a movie in the Deus Ex universe, but then you'd just have a generic cyberpunk movie about conspiracy theories.

Are you the person who constantly makes this thread? Are you AB testing? Leave Deus Ex fucking alone and make a movie about Human Shitolution or something, stop ruining good things.
John Ramirez
No, this is the first time I've ever made this thread. Just curious. I mean, I could probably see it happening in the near future given the current trend of capeshit turning into cape fatigue and Hollywood needing new IP's to adapt. Vidya would be their next target, I imagine.
Jonathan Phillips
The game is more likely to get a reboot and a movie based on that reboot than an adaption of the original game.
no. the best parts about deus ex are specific to video games. maybe a mini-series would work, but i really doubt it.
Daniel Campbell
Just watch Alex Jones. Cringe kino.
Zachary Turner
What about an anthology series following various different people through their points of views as pawns of the larger schemes? Maybe a doctor in one season, a military general in another, a gangbanger in another, etc. but the endings are always left open and ambiguous but with enough evidence to support one conclusion or another.
Could it be done? Would it be worth doing?

>Episode 1 starts with JC Denton blowing up Majestic 12 HQ with a GEP gun after talking to his brother Alex Jones
I don't see why it wouldn't work, JC Denton is basically Neo without all the Messiah baggage, just a good anti-terror cop with morals who turned on his former organization and discovered a global NWO conspiracy
Andrew Evans
The story by itself is really not all that good and condensed into a 2 hour film it would be shit.
Cameron Long
but Warren Spector's Jewish

The northwestern secessionist forces are too much like the white nationalist Northwest Territorial Imperative and the evil technofascist villain is google's co-founder with the first name changed. It makes globalists look bad and greedy and we can't really have that today.
Connor Hall
DEAR GOD IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR YEARS!
Brody Cox
It's "good" because it's basically what we're living now but with a shiny 16-bit coat of paint. If you'd released it now, it would be yet another conspiracy movie to be added to the pile.
Carter Watson
If it was going to happen it would be the more recent incarnation with augmentation politics not the original
Thomas Moore
The early 00's were the perfect time for a Deus Ex movie. If it was done now, /pol/ would throw a shitfit somehow, thinking it Bob Page was Donnie all along or some stupid shit like that.
