Did you watch Get Out by mistake? Neither of those are in this

Are you fucked in the head, m8? The whole movie is a cry for RICH PEOPLE BAD, PLZ GIB THE POOR MONIE

Why do you give a fuck if rich people get made fun of in movies? You'll never be rich

Have sex

>all these projections
Sounds like you gave up on life.

No

This. The dads being dads was absolute cornball kino.

I dont understand. You mean like Tim Heideckers family? That was like 1/3rd of the film, and was only to support a Cabin in the Woods sequence of fun doppelganger killing. Hardly the whole movie

Know how I know you’re newfags?

Friendly reminder if you have any criticism toward this movie you are a racist.

I swear to god you lads are just as headache inducing as the far left

No

If anything it's a commentary on Black Culture and the depictions of blacks in media

not really at all, if for no other reason than that it is the left wing that has taken control of mass media

>retard who hasn't seen the movie

Have sex

They don't put out Oscarbait in March, and this isn't what it looks like.
>Virtue Signalling: The Movie
Is it? Haven't seen it but am planning to go to a showing in like 3 hours. Where does it fall on the preachiness/virtue signaling scale compared to Get Out?

Why was the red lady talking about spending all her life in the shelter if she was actually a kid that the clone kidnapped and took her place. And how do you forget about it. I don't believe in her psd since it was shown as calculated move on the real clone part. I really liked it until the 3rd act.

anyone got a pic of Tim Hiedeckers hot daughters?

probably the best part of the movie desu.
also can Jordan please stop forcing comic reliefs in his films. they're obnoxious as fuck. was silently praying for the Dad to die as fast as possible. the NSA guy in Get Out wasn't funny either.

None at all. The rich/poor thing is people looking too far into the fact that the dad’s friend has more cash than him and a nicer boat.

Why were all the tethered mimicking their real world counterparts to a t then suddenly start being able to move. You have to turn your brain off when the third act hits otherwise the plot holes start coming fast and hard

>The whole movie is a cry for RICH PEOPLE BAD, PLZ GIB THE POOR MONIE

why did the tether concept suddenly re-activate as soon as it was convenient for the plot?

I rolled my eyes so goddamn hard at the "Pluto" scene.

There is no virtue signalling and no social commentary. That user just needs to have sex.

You're not poor user, western pampered s0yb0y.

If sentimentality is a sophist device used to manipulate many into feeling a certain emotion, as is the case with most Oscarbait, then Peele is guilty of the filmmaker's version of sentimentality--the movie never feels comfortable exploring itself, and instead is constantly pulled in various, nagging directions with action as a distraction and foreshadowing as a strategic placement for a specific payoff, Nabokov’s arsenal, if you will. It’s as if we, the audience, are being guided down a hallway of mirrors to various distractions and points of ponderance in the shortest line possible, given the minimal amount of time deemed necessary for these ideas to ferment, and then having them all recalled back into the foray the moment they have fermented. The end result is the audience feels smart without thinking, the themes feel proficient but not organic, and the cinematography feels like the binding agent of a pill, a payload to deliver with brutal efficiency rather than an exploration of a visual landscape. You may feel a mental force tugging you to believe that Us is a good and well-made movie because individual scenes have weight and thought behind them, but your heart, for the reasons I describe, will feel dismay and a distant unease that the film never quite was what it believed itself to be.

I got to see the movie with black women commentary, 10/10

That's awesome to hear. Don't want to come across like I'm constantly obsessing over race but the trailer looked great and throwing in racial/SJW-type politics can almost only ever hurt a movie in my experience. Looking forward to this one.

god pol is fucking tiring

half baked premise

>Oscar Bait
>In March
kys tardo

>he gets triggered by SJW-type politics
kys

When they ruin what might be a good movie I get triggered epically.

how do you possibly get that from this movie?

After seeing this shit promo still on every movie news website I was surprised by how effective the image was within the actual movie. Thought it was genuinely creepy when you see them in the distance standing in their driveway. Then when they invade the house you realize they all look like regular people and the main villain, the only one capable of speech talks like a fucking mongoloid. Dumb ass fucking movie.

Why do the trailers of this hack always feel like a clumsy social commentary instead of a horror movie?

if by dad you mean Tim Heidecker, then yes he was

It’s not that either. Jesus. Nothing about the movie was racial.

I wish we had an actual Film board in this hellhole. This is the most succinctly this has been distilled yet, you’re completely right

Get Out was about creepy liberals obsessing over black people you fucking retard

Attached: SnbBI7meiUO5wdCJlruxVQ2.png (449x351, 163K)

Because these retards believe disliking the rich is inherent to the left and they’d rather get raped than be a lefty

I kept laughing when the family kept saying "what do want" after the entire monologue basically explaining that they hated them for living in the sun and enjoying the comforts of modern society while they sat in the shadows eating raw rabbits.

how fucking dumb are these people?

also I find it hard to believe that some rednecks wouldnt go hunting party on these stupid red-jumpsuit wearing fucks after seeing on the news how they were murdering people left and right

America has the most gun violence of like any country ever and you expect me to believe that everyone just got offed quietly overnight? bull.fucking.shit.

fucking /pol/ mods

Since Get Out was the most overrated film in recent memory, how much worse will the fake praise be for this? It looks like shit.

Get Out was one of the best movies of that year and in recent years. Triggered /pol/ beta detected

>I kept laughing when the family kept saying "what do want" after the entire monologue basically explaining that they hated them for living in the sun and enjoying the comforts of modern society while they sat in the shadows eating raw rabbits.
yeah it kinda took away from the creepyness when the daughter was like "stfu dad lmao" right after some randos invaded their home and held them captive with weapons.

>also I find it hard to believe that some rednecks wouldnt go hunting party on these stupid red-jumpsuit wearing fucks after seeing on the news how they were murdering people left and right.
If im playing devils advocate, i think the point is it was a concerted, carefully planned killing of a shit load of people. hence why the main family didnt figure it out till they had killed their doppels and the white families doppels and turned on the news. also when abraham was on the boat he made that retard call which i assume was to some other random doppel killing another random family. there was no opportunity to see it coming.

Anyone elses theatre filled with white faggots expressing their white guilt by laughing way to hard at every "joke"

It was a good horror flick, m8. There's no preachiness or virtue signalling. Avoid spoilers and enjoy it.

>Nothing about the movie was racial.

Sure. OK.

Good rebuttal

Imagine being this much of a spineless veta cuck to the rich class, that this movie triggers you.

yes
out of a gorllion people in a billion different time zones... they all just got silently assinated! the plan was perfect. No flights going in or out of the country.Every routine, every schedule, even people living in maximum security prisons and shit with camera's everywhere and guards on constant...everything was perfectly accounted for.

it was if a thousand voices cried out and were simultaneously silenced by scissors to the jugular. Wow...bravo Peele....

A Plot as seamless as humans not being able to figure out that noise is the weakness to blind aliens that hunt via overtuned hearing.

Attached: 1547528341145.jpg (924x1129, 133K)

I'm sure that happened off camera. We were watching a microcosm of what was happening across the US.

>white people so scawwy!
>10/10 movie of the year, the citizen kane of this generation

You have to go back.

that whole hand holdy bit at the end should not have even been possible. America woulda been a all-out warzone with people getting into mobs to defend themselves and helicopters shooting those red zootsuit niggers on site.

there is no fucking way that in just 12 hours or something all the clones had managed to off their originals

They didn't kill all the originals. I'm sure in places like Texas and Mississippi, the clones were getting gunned down in the driveways for attempting home invasions.

I think it was just the santa cruz area where everyone was attacked. the killing of those clones could have happened after the movie was over, but it was never explained or alluded to what happened after everything died down and the clones made the chain. they were just there and the movie ended.

No it isn't. Have you even seen the movie?

Make me sad when they die :(

No you fucking loser, I was in a theatre full of people just enjoying a movie rather than being a cynical, bitter idpol obsessed faggot

t. white guilt infested cuckold

There isn't any preachiness/virtue signaling. The story is open enough though that people are claiming it's about whatever they feel like. Some are saying it's about America after the 2016 election, some are saying it's about Gen X, some are saying it's about class warfare. You can really apply anything you like to it. Peele insists it's just a horror movie and people are overthinking it.

Jesus Christ you right wing SJW’s are worse than fucking lefties

Get Out was LITERALLY about fucking white liberals who obsess over black people. It had NOTHING to do with “lol fuck white people”. It’s making fun of white peolle fetishizing blacks

You fucking loser faggot

No, not at all. People laughed at the few funny bits, a few people screamed at the scares. You know, like a normal movie audience.

>Why was the red lady talking about spending all her life in the shelter if she was actually a kid that the clone kidnapped and took her place
Because she'd been down there since she was like 5 years old. It may as well have been her whole life. That's also the reason she's the only one that can speak English and the rest of them just grunt.

it literally showed the people holding hands across america at the end though. It wasnt just in one place

same.
they were actually pretty cute with the whole "jinx you owe me a soda" shit.
aside from the wife I loved Tims retarded family. Would unironically hang out with him

You people are legitimately fucked in the head. Get help. Stop hammering your head in the /pol/ echo chamber

please fuck off, nobody likes you, nobody wants you. Not even your own family.

whats really amazing to me is being part of a thread involving a brand new movie i have actually seen, i can tell about 80% of the posters here have not seen it.

the movie takes place in the santa cruz area. in no way is it implied the entire US was overtaken by clones.

How some of you think this movie is trying to say "give poor people money" is just bizarre.

the movie is not "whipipo evil" in any way.

It simply didnt live up to the hype because
1) too many plot holes
2) only the first 30 minutes were creepy
3) The flow of the story was nowhere near as good as Get Out which disappointed a lot of people including myself

It was an interesting story, just not told as well as it could have been.

lol cry more, pussy.

I think blacks are absolutely terrifying, I mean, look what they did to the U.S. This might actually be a great horror flick

>the rest of them just grunt.
That's actually their own tard language. They're communicating with each other, like Clone Dad on the boat scene.

Imagine being a /pol/ faggot, completely unable to enjoy anything, constantly bitter and angry and playing the victim. Just kill yourself already and get it over with

This. Most /pol/ retards probably haven't even seen the movie. They just know the white family are the bad guys, and start sperging out like "AAHH I'M BEING ATTACKED!1"

Jordan Peele is half white. His own mother is white. He grew up around white people. He's not going to blanketly hate all white people.

>the movie takes place in the santa cruz area. in no way is it implied the entire US was overtaken by clones.

I did go pee once but I'm pretty sure there was a scene showing the news of shit going down in a much bigger city than Santa Cruz

Also,
>Hands Across America
not
>Hands Across Santa Cruz.

I could be wrong though.

I'm just glad we got a good doppelganger horror movie.

>look what they did to the U.S.

Are you seriously blaming the entire countries problems on one ethnic group?
you sure theres not someone else you should be holding accountable? maybe politicians? business men and conglomerate, monopolies and their lobbyist?

They’re perpetual victims. Literally just right wing SJW’s

It has been a while.

No sense in trying to be reasonable with these morons. Let them wallow in hate, bitterness and victimhood. Fuck em

christ how did that post upset you so much, you sound miserable

oh yeah? what's it called?

It's a horror movie about every day racism and 'cultural appropriation', there is nothing profound about it. It is very hamfisted and if it wasn't about these zeitgeisty race baitey topics nobody would talk about it.

I am just stating facts here. I am not victimizing myself because hollywood movies are inconsequential pieces of trash. You are projecting that onto me to get some leverage for your undefendable position.

The trapped girl was different and they learned a new trick from her. The copies were still insane without her guiding them.

>literally FUCK WHITEY: THE MOVIE

I mean.
I dont blame black people for having shitty internet infrastructure equal to that of a 3rd world country despite being a 1rst world country. not do I blame black people for this retarded fucking Tax plan that just got passed that robbed me of 2k$ more than I usually have to pay.

I also dont think Black people are responsible for this retarded give all your money to Israel plan the US has been on for the past few years.

Well, if we're talking about (((ethnic groups)))....around 50% of billionaires are of the same persuasion. Perhaps you take issue with them as I do?

>I mean, look what they did to the U.S.
Built it for free?

You realize that there is a racial/political angle to not wanting to have to see the things that affect people who aren't like you? What you want is a movie that avoids subjects you don't want to have to or care to experience. Which is your right, but say that instead of pretending that social issues haven't always been a part of film and storytelling.

My theatre had no less than 20 times a majority of the audience broke out into laughter. There were a few good jokes obviously but it wasnt THAT funny

I got to experience it with a woman who clapped whenever she recognized actors and superheros in the trailers then proceeded to laugh at all the bait jokes for white millenials.

Yeah same for me but it doesn’t bother me. I’m not a bitter asshole. People laughing and having fun doesn’t upset me

I only got one shout and it was total bullshit. Something on the screen about fluoride being used to control us, and I hear "PREACH!!!". I bet her kids get whooping cough some day.

>noooooo go away meanie head waaaaaa
yikes... thats some cringe my friend

what were people in red trying to prove in the end?

You don't have to be /pol/ to realize that this movie has no substance apart from its political undertones. The political undertones are not the problem, the problem is that this movie is absolute trash aside from that.

Change out the roles and everyone would realize that the premise and execution are absolutely cringeworthy and ridiculous. A Japanese family that wants to transfer their brains into the whitey step son, because they are fetishizing American culture.

It even hurts to type that out. Literally fanfiction tier.

doesnt matter what the shirt said. It is simply unbelievable that millions of clones underground were organized by that one stationed in santa cruz.

That would be even better. It’s a good concept many people enjoyed and received unanimous praise, no amount of “actually, its shit” from some nobody on Yea Forums will change that

>It's neither oscar bait or virtue signalling

It's just a bad film. Poorly thought out, all but like 2 jokes fell flat, audience was literally yawning throughout the second half of the film, wasn't scary or even "spooky", "sci-fi" ideas weren't even that great, they should have just been japanese style demons (not a piss poor explained government experiment). Only well written character was the dad but that's just because he's basically a Jordan Peele skit character. Tim Heidekers tether acting was piss poor. "It's a trap" was a dumb scene. Relied on jumping from one genre to another and let you know it, drama didn't organically come from the plot. Were we really invested in the ballet boss fight at the end? Fuck no. It felt like the first draft of something that could have been half interesting if he actually flushed out the world. I'm sure he rushed it because the studio knew it was going to make a shitload of money regardless because no matter how bad it was critics are going to be afraid to give it a bad review. I'm so sick of all these psy-op black/white agitation propaganda films.

Conclusion, I would've liked if Jordan Peele just ripped off Triangle or Timecrimes and made the film a time-loop scenario :P

Attached: 51h8fXXwMHL.jpg (354x500, 43K)

Making this thread is in itself virtue signaling though

imagine thinking africa is a 1st world country

I saw it in Houston and there was only like 1 black dude in the theater. It was mostly whites and asians. They laughed a couple of times. My gf let out a really awkward sounding squeak/scream when the clone family scuttles off suddenly and the audience laughed at her.

Did you not watch the end as it panned across parts of america showing clones hand in hand, helicopters in the distance and multiple, distinct areas with smoke billowing from them? Its clearly implied this is not just happening in santa cruz

You must be 14 to think that that's a clever social commentary to carry a movie. The masses have always been dumb and wrong.

>they’d rather get raped than be a lefty
You're getting raped as a lefty.

Thread should have ended here.

>Oscar bait

wut the fuck. NOW this is b8

Why are you so envious of your fellow man, you should be happy when your neighbor succeeds.
Envy is a disease.

>Appeals to majority in the age of self-censorship

Giant fucking wew lad

Well said. Now I'm on the fence on whether his Twilight Zone reboot is worth watching after watching Us. I think it may have a chance if it leaves out social commentary but I don't really see that happening.

The rich don’t get rich because of their own hard work. You get rich off of wage labor, others doing the labor for you. That’s why you never see a wealthy plumber, or a wealthy auto mechanic. You see wealthy people who sit in offices, make phone calls and shake hands with other wealthy people. So hard.

you are fucking retarded dude. holy shit.

I assure you this man is both based and moral
Alternatively i assure you this man is both cringe and reprehensible

I know many wealthy trades people... it comes with the field when you make 200+/hour, not including OT

>That’s why you never see a wealthy plumber, or a wealthy auto mechanic.
Hahahaha what century are living in??
Plumbers make over 100k in today's world you absolute moron.
The only people that fail to produce anything are people that wasted their time and money in useless college degrees.
Trades give you a lot of wealth compared to psychology majors.
You sound like a stupid naive child, don't let it cosume you. Your life might end up as miserable as you're asking it to right now.

How do you not want to fuck your daughter when she has tits like that?
Any dad anons want to explain?

>Built it for free?
Did they build it with cotton?

Please, never have kids.

Same reason normal people have no desire to fuck their mothers or sisters. Please do not have children.

Depends on who's writing it. I highly doubt it. It looked like the cast of SNL from the trailer. Keep in mind Jordan did help producer Blackkklansman so he's absolutely willing to cash in on this manufactured boom of race conscious media.

The left isn't controlling the media? Really fucktard?

How is this black propaganda in any way?

let them. we all know both sides of the media were controlled opposition. Right wing/left wing. Transgender/Black Power blah blah blah proxy warriors meant to agitate, nothing more. It's all a distraction from the Jews/Bankers who are cucking America in order to put more and more power in the hands of a few Oligarchs

Attached: 1536512300631.jpg (1050x733, 171K)

it was a commentary on how racism permeates whites no matter what they do

And that's a good thing.

Good question. While I agree it's not as egregious as Blackkklansman or some other films out there, but the imagery is definitely fan service to white-hating minorities. The audience I was with was literally cheering when the black family entered the white household and killed them all with NWA was playing. That scene was absolutely pointless to the plot and lasted about 30 minutes.

>this fucking thread
srsly, you all: have sex

>new, shitty copypasta
I can't wait for this one to be run into the ground.

The movie was pretty good, desu. It's well shot and paced, and was a great departure from what Peele did in Get Out. Where Get Out was neatly tied up and presented to the audience, Us ends up being more allegorical (without going full Aronofsky's mother!). I thought all the actors gave great performances, in that both families seemed normal and relatable, which raised the stakes when shit started going down. There's a lot of symbolism in the film, from the hands across america stuff, to the scissors, to the concept of the tethered themselves. What Us succeeds in which a lot of movies like it don't is how versatile the movie is. If you want a straight up slasher-type horror film, you get that. But, if you want something deeper, there's a lot to digest and think about. I found it ironic that it opened with a flashback to the 80s, because this felt more like a horror movie that would come out then; like if a movie from the golden age of slashers suddenly got a huge budget and a tight script.

Attached: 1388253353463.jpg (1097x979, 199K)

>Japanese style demons
Get the fuck out of here, weeb. Only religious boomers are scared of that garbage.

I would have thought it was better if it went full david lynch dream, or fully allegorical. It didnt commit to anything and didnt flush out what was there. It's not just that there were so many plot holes with the logistics of the gov experiments, thats not my point. my point is that: just because you can recognize elements from other good films doesnt make this one a good movie. like a song can have a bunch of "good note" but those notes need to be in an order and that leads you down a path of thought. This movie was ineffective plain and simple. The plot wasnt abstract enough to be interesting or flushed out enough to be interesting. Like I said the audience was literally yawning throughout the film. The execution wasn't great and the twist wasnt even that interesting.

>like if a movie from the golden age of slashers suddenly got a huge budget and a tight script.

Just because it reminds you aesthetically of older films doesnt make it a good film

Attached: 1353135742944.png (300x392, 103K)

would've been better than the lazy government idea. Why if they are a government experiment do they have souls? the whole souls thing was religious boomer garbage

>I would have thought it was better if it went full david lynch dream, or fully allegorical. It didnt commit to anything and didnt flush out what was there.
This seems like more of a personal preference than anything. Another script that does what you're saying is Rosemary's Baby; while the main plot is there - the cultists wanting to use Rosemary in order to birth Adrian, the antichrist - the script also serves as commentary on trust in relationships, the dogmatism of religion, how women handle modernity in a Gothic setting, and so on. I think Us does a great deal of the same things, while not copying another movie, or failing on its own. I think it creates it's own melody - I don't agree that they're just discordant notes.

>Like I said the audience was literally yawning throughout the film.
Horror audiences aren't a good way to gauge a movie. My audience was restless as well, but it's because they were kids who were expecting a more cut-and-dry slasher. I saw it again earlier this afternoon and the audience was completely different, far more captivated.

>The execution wasn't great and the twist wasnt even that interesting.
Why do you say the execution/twist wasn't great, user? I think it did everything it should, formally speaking; the twist was set up at the beginning, and there are clues throughout that can be picked up on repeat viewings. Similar to the film as a whole, the twist rides the line between anchoring the rest of the plot, while also being its own thing and not necessary to enjoy everything before it. Does everything a twist should do, no?

Attached: 1248389898067.jpg (380x572, 138K)

Get a load of these faggots pretending it was actually deep

What did you think about it, user? Let's talk about it.

Attached: 164354341642.jpg (567x633, 193K)

I didn't think much because again, its not that deep. A single surface level reference to a bible verse doesnt open it up to this entire allegorical world which really makes little sense. Plus its third act betrays it entirely, and is just poor film making

>the script also serves as commentary on trust in relationships, the dogmatism of religion, how women handle modernity in a Gothic setting, and so on

sure but what does Us say? does it leave you with enough that you can get an idea of what he's commenting on or what his ideology is? I don't think there is enough there.

Fighting yourself? Cell phones allow for our soul to exist somewhere else?

I was able to come up with a theory that this was all about her dealing with her being sexually abused as a child. The references to Thriller, Lost Boys (Corey Feldman and Michael Jackson both linked to sexual abuse). The fact that after she went into the hall of mirrors, she was traumatized, unable to speak. The line "I peaked when I was 14" in the conversation with Peggy. The fact that the creepy doom-preaching homeless man was looking at her before she went into the house of mirrors. I think she was raped by him and that's why she made up this story in her head and really why she didnt want to go back to Santa Cruz

What do you think? I'm not angry, its an honest question.

Attached: santa-cruz-beach-boardwalk-santa-cruz-cascruz1.jpg (500x340, 233K)

seething

lol well put. Still just because the filmmaker puts a metaphor for how shitty the film is in the film doesnt make it a good film. Like how Nier: Automata is a shitty game, that people only believe is deep or profound because it constantly lets you know that it knows its shit.

Meta doesnt = good. And that's definitely the case with Us

Why not just admit it wasnt very good. If you spend enough time reading into ants picking at a pile of dung you can come away with profound artistic symbolism . In order for this to be meaningful to you you have had to concoct something totally not even hinted at.

lol Im the one that was saying the film was shit right her:
Im just saying that the only thing I could gleam from it is that it's an allegory for her sexual abuse as a kid. it's still a poorly executed film

yes

by forcing black people to not commit crimes and speak proper english the white man is oppressing the black by turning them into "doppelgangers" of their true selves

Ignore all the redditors and reset era posters who try to pretend these movies aren't blatant anti white propaganda

>Reeee a black guy made it so I'm going to act like it's the worst shit ever reeeeeeeeee!!!!!

This didn't work with TFA nor BP nor CM fuck off /pol/cels have your sperg fit somewhere else

The audience I watched the film with were literally cheering when the black family entered the white family's house and killed them all to the tune of NWA... in what was literally a completely pointless 30 minutes of the film. White hating fan service. Literally the producers probably required that Peele "write a scene where they kill whites" when they wrote out his contract.

>a glib facsimile

>family goes to nearby friends for help
>friends are actually dead and mom gets kidnapped
>now we have to deal with the other family's doppelgangers because we want to save our mom
>somehow this is just pointless and it's really just about killing white people

It was the evil white clones that killed the white family to NWA...

How did your mind mix up two completely different scenes? Hmm.

I think Us is talking about a few different things:

The whole dialogue between Adelaide and Red in the living-room definitely felt like it was dancing around income inequality; the idea of people who looks the same as you (or "bleed the same" or whatever she said) underscoring every event in life, just in a more restricted setting, seemed like the clearest parallel.

Doppelgangers as a concept, however, I think is separate from that. I think Peele said in an interview somewhere that "we are our own worst enemies", but said it was true on both an individual and on a societal level. The tethered, then, are a representation of how we have similar proclivities and ambitions, but our executions can be divided to the point of volatility. Red, for example, takes care of her family just the same as Adelaide takes care of her. Yet, despite similar goals, and identical looks, they are separate, and against each other.

The references to god stand out, as well, from the Jeremiah numbers to Red talking about god at a few points. Yet, religion doesn't really seem to have much of a presence in the film outside of that (I've read some arguments that Tim Heidecker's family represents godlessness because they worship false idols, but it seems like a bit of a stretch to me). I think that absence of any resolution to the religious references is, in itself, the reference. Red's religious pleas can't work as an ethical / moral escape. She organized the hands across America ending, and is the catalyst for murder. It's of human origin, not divine.

>I was able to come up with a theory that this was all about her dealing with her being sexually abused as a child
That theory makes a lot of sense, actually. I really like the idea behind that, and there are a lot of signs sprinkled throughout that are indicative of some trauma. Good on you, user!

Does Lupita wear a swimsuit

no the beachboys was playing you fucking retard. NWA turns on at the end of the scene and then the black family comes in and kills the tethered whites

i think its more Pluto is a spastic than he was acting under tether again

i went to an 11am screening and there was like 5 people there, 3 of them with me

Yes, I'm sure that's the case, in a movie where people are killing other people all over the place, regardless of race; the white tethered kill the entirety of the white family in one fell swoop (which, if anything, could be spun in such a way that whites are better, as the white tethers are actually good at killing their family), and the news footage shows a white dude killing the camera man.
The film really doesn't give a shit about race.

Attached: dont care.jpg (400x478, 33K)

Pluto was definitely off. I don't know if it was because he was not as developed or maybe the burns fucked up his "programming."

All of the Doppelgangers seem to have been wrong in some way. Not just the way they talk, but Red says the daughter was born laughing, and she spends the film with an inhumanly large grin, while her son was 'a monster', which could be her way of describing his much more feral nature than the real one.

>3 of them were me
This is awful humor, just to let you know, either that or you're a fucking schizo and you need your meds

That makes sense. I was thinking more along the lines of Pluto really didn't seem eager to kill his counterpart at first. Like he probably would have just been happy to continue their playdate indefinitely until he got trapped in the closet. Also, he was the only clone we saw that was still almost completely still tethered to the actions of his counterpart.

think you need your glasses old man

He said "with" dummy.

just saw this. I need explanation because I didn't understood everything.

So the movie was about rich outside / poor in the sewer right ? But what's with the fact that they can control the double ? Like the burning kid ?

and what was that ending about ? Like they all lived in sewer for year ? how ? with which food ? why ?

>NSA guy

Underage get out no pun intended faggot

I think you are looking way too into the meaning. The meaning was "we are our own worst enemies." All the doubles were bound to their counterparts' actions until Red severed their ties. Pluto (little kid) seemed to be the only one who was still that way.

They ate rabbits. Lots and lots of rabbits.

I think what's really bugging me is the fact that they try to give a logical explanation at the end (the “experiment“ ? it was just mentioned right ?).

I didn't saw the “we're our worst enemy“ because they don't look like each other at all. The dad's double for example, he's nothing but a big bully. They could've done something interesting (maybe a Silent Hill sort of thing like they take a bad side of the character and make it huge), but here it just feel shitty.

The poor vs rich have sense though. Like, when the dad's double take the glasses, or the blonde girl use lipstick. I thought it was more obvious but maybe I'm just stupid.

They definitely didn't give much info into the experiment, other than it was an attempt to control the population and it was abandoned.

It's another thing why I think that Red was making her family hold back, be it out of a shred of humanity still within her, or out of a sense of sentimentality. The friends family were practically executed, while Red let hers play around a bit. To the more 'mature' ones, it was more hunting their prey. To Pluto, who was poorly developed even for his age, it was playing around with a friend. Hell, he was probably mimicking the son, because he thought he was meant to. We can see he's not forced to, because he acts independently often. As far as 'not killing', remember that the scissors were their toys down there, amongst other things they could get their hands on. He'd probably have burnt them both to death eventually trying to mimic something mundane

so what would a school shooting have looked like in the tunnels?

last thing who's bothering me is how they communicate ? Like, we saw a tv commercial at the beginning ? So they had to have way to speak with people up ?

I know you're not suppose to ask yourself this, but as they try to give the experiment justification it's hard to go with all the plot holes

The clones all had a tard language that they communicated with each other. Remember when clone dad was on the boat and he was grunting loudly to an unseen clone and the unseen clone was grunting back in communication?

This was good movie

More like Plot Holes: The Movie
How did this script get approved?
>inb4 muh allegory

Man this was so underwhelming, just an action movie of them running around. Literal M. Night Shymalan WHAT A TWEEST at the end that added nothing. At least Heidecker and Elisabeth Moss were in it.

If a white guy directed it would have 70% at best on RT.

the tv commercial was what Red was watching on the surface before she went down wasn't it?

Bill Nye is a millennial thing.

Yeah. I don't think they had cable or TV signal, or copies of C.H.U.D. on VHS in the tunnels.

Someone explain how the little boy was able to get him to walk to the fire? There were no other iterations of the tethered being forced to copy their doppelgangers after they attack

See I think he was much less developed than the others so that tie didn't get completely severed between him and his other.

when have you not been?

>this movie has literally no politics at all
>Yea Forums's resident poltards find a way to get offended by it and trash it

wat the fuck, it's a movie about a bunch of clones killing their look alikes lmao I really don't understand why everyone is trying to find some hidden political undertone

what happend to her?

Get Out was genuinely one of the best movies the year it came out. Are you this deluded? Get off the internet for a bit.

>her
it's "he" now

Or maybe Pluto thought he should still be following the tie. He only starts copying the boy after they go in the cupboard and whenever they see each other. He acts independently whenever they are apart

I just don't like niggers

I think he might have done it intentionally to get him to walk into the mom that was hiding behind the SUV.

It seems like in that scene he's trying to get the kid to do his lighter trick so he can light his own match, but he pulls the match out first if I remember correctly and starts sperging out waving his hand around to get the other kid to light, so it seems like he's just copying him for the sake of copying him and not being mind controlled.

also what the fuck was his lighter trick even supposed to be? I figured it was going to be a trope of him not being able to do it in the beginning, and then he'd save his family by pulling it off near the end, but his entire lighter "trick" seems to be just rolling the flint on a dead as shit lighter?

I just dont like niggers also. + Nyongo says "we're americans" in the film which is a pretty clear indication that Peele was trying to say something about an upcoming communist revolt (which wouldnt fucking happen in the U.S. because no one is starving here, even our poor people are fat.... and every communist fascist uprising has been because people cant pay for their families and they are starving) I think peele knew that his metaphor didnt hold any actual weight or connection to reality.... so he tried to keep it obscure with literal "rabbit holes"

the movie should have been supernatural

instead it became purge like, also the cast are fucking ugly

I should've just picked one metaphor to stick to. It didnt seem interested in exploring any metaphor it was teasing. It was the first draft of a script

If by right-wing you mean the Jews that invented identity politics to keep people away from just hating the rich then you're right, it's right-wing controlled.

that sandwich looks really tasty

>literally goes down the rabbit hole

Wannabe psychological writer. Get Out was fine but Peele is still amateur and they are giving him too many accolades in order to stunt his growth

why does hollywood always cut the balls off the strong black male

>I got 5 on it starts playing

But we literally see a white dude get castrated. Double dad just got chopped up.

Any ways this movie has zero racial bait unless you're trying to be offended.

Holy fuck the cope for this movie is unreal. Protip if you have to scramble this hard for theories its garbage

youtube.com/watch?v=dGboni7ypv8

>zero racial bait
>black family's doppelgangers come in for a nice sitdown and chat and give the black family time to fight back and look awesome
>white family gets slaughtered instantly and is made to look as pathetic as possible

Outside of the main characters being black, and the white family being generally unlikable there wasn't anything about race in there. That is unless you want to get into the realm of tinfoil hatted "underlying messages". This movie was a mediocre mashup of horror and comedy, where one constantly undercuts the other. The ending twists were predictable within the first 5 minutes of the movie, and there were several unintentionally funny moments that were supposed to be scary.

Literally proving me right

Nice argument, you can't even disprove me and find a reason for why the black family got special treatment from the murderous doppelgangers.

>and find a reason for why the black family got special treatment from the murderous doppelgangers.
Because Red wanted to make Addy suffer you fucking retard

Because the leader of the black family's doppleganger wasn't a doppleganger originally. Are you actually retarded?

Why not kill her kids in front of her then? Why not tell her everything then take it all away instead of splitting the whole family up as if they wanted to give them a chance to get away? Nothing she did made her suffer you fucking brainless shittard.

Fucking hell

Attached: average arab after watching harry potter.jpg (673x373, 37K)

what the fuck were the clones eating?
how did the sanitation work?
I can't believe there is like 300M clones in underground facilities without the public noticing
what were the clones a metaphor for?

Attached: 1537729280408.jpg (221x228, 4K)

Yet still has the same fucking motive, make the family suffer, but only after giving them plot armor and a chance to fight back.

>Us seems merely the sum of the first film's critical effluent and influent
The first film? I'm assuming he means Get Out but what a mess of a sentence.

Dunno what the lighter thing was supposed to lead up to, but I think it was meant to be the reason Pluto was burnt to shit. Since Pluto has to do whatever the other kid has to do (or was it the other way around, fuck), whenever OG kid messed with the broken lighter and held it to his face, Pluto lit a match and did the same thing, eventually crisping his face up real bad.

>if you have to scramble this hard for theories its garbage
>no fun allowed

Attached: 1387391143307.jpg (559x596, 72K)

The other clones had no motives. Red told them all to simply kill their counterparts. The other clones had no free will. She did.

the best part is the twist that the dude has a flare gun all along
and that it didn't work

Truth
>Wassup, Evil Josh?

Also I can't believe they sat down in the white family's living room, looked at the news and discussed things for 15-20 minutes while one of the dead clone girls was lying there smashed into the glass table right in front of them. Who the fuck does that. And then it turns out she was playing dead, goddamn.

Yet all of them still had the same end goal, kill the families. At the end the two black ladies are trying to kill one another underground in the subway. So why did the bad one not just kill all the black family in the fucking house after explaining everything? What was the reason for the black family getting to 1v1 their clones outside the house besides stupid plot armor?

Not just that, but they started joking about Home Alone traps and then had that silly argument about who was driving. The tone was completely shot to shit at that point.

>/pol/ boogieman
go back

>plot armor
It's literally spite and malice. Red wanted to torment Adelaide (or whatever her name is) and her family with the agonizing mental breakdown that was happening to them as they had to deal with the clones, and due to the events of the movie, she was the only one that seemed to so thoroughly erase any notion of Adelaide's being missing that she became the girl that lived happily while the original Adelaide died horribly. The Tylers were just a group of people who died when the clones went around massacring their originals across the US. You're trying unbelievably hard to insert race into a non-racial situation. If all of the parties were white, you wouldn't even have an argument.

Ah yes, terrorize them by giving them a chance to run away and fight back and crack jokes to each other in the car. Why not tie them all to chairs and torture them? Or tie them all up and take them all back underground and explain everything about the clones? Stop trying to defend pure retardation in the script.

>Hates on something they can never be
Must be a tranny.

>villain has a flair for the dramatic
have you ever watched a film before

The guy is retarded, don't bother.

You didn't watch the movie, did you, you dense faggot?

I just want you all to know I think Lupita Nyong'o is very cute and I would love to blast a thick load into her pu*y

>Virtue Signalling: The Movie

OP is a retard who uses words because he sees other people use them.

The dramatic being get your own clone kids killed and the family escaped. Again, she could have terrorized them all she wanted without letting them fight back, it accomplishes all her goals of letting the family know about the clones and what their mother is.

You don't have an actual argument against me do you, you seething bitchtard?

>muh sunken plance
>so deeeep! lmaooo
imagine believing that shit lmao

Well yeah, that's how it goes. Wouldn't have been much of a film if they just killed them.

Exactly, it was a bad film needing an awful plot contrivance for 90 minutes of WHOA SHE STABBED WHOA JUMP SCARE WHOA SHE RAN OVER then the most obvious twist in horror movie history thrown in at the end.

This movie had too many moments that pissed me off.

]>the "child does something super fucking stupid but its believable because its a le child" gimmick
>the part where the clones copy what u do but inconsistently and only when u need them to for plot
>the part where the first clones introduced were super badass killing machines but then every other clone was just an easily killed mindless zombie
>the part where its implied that people with scissors overthrew people with guns
>the part where a secret underground government experiment facility holds clones of everybody but the facility is connected to a theme park ride with no locked gates or anything to keep the clones from just walking out into the world
>the part where a villain had the chance to kill a main character but decided not to for no other reason than plot armor shenanigans

there were so many plot holes in this movie i felt like i was watching one of those movies where you have to ignore common logic and say "iTs a mOviE" to enjoy it

Attached: 1547825723256.png (720x790, 807K)

What other clones were mindless zombies because they were all pretty similar.

lel

It was the flare gun on his friend's boat, frogtard.

Regardless of the movie itself the soundtrack was fucking on point. Title track reminded me of the opening song from Ghost in the Shell

>hurr durrr minorities are le bad

As a good father you are automatically proud of your children and that includes having a beautiful daughter who, very truthfully, has full shapely breasts like her mother at that age
If your daughter is wearing a bikini top you might take a fatherly glance of admiration and pride, same way I am proud of my son for his marching band accomplishments at a Big-10 school.
Anything else is beyond sick

Have sex

>The film really doesn't give a shit about race.
What year do you think this is?

get out was released in february

This, you're wired not to be into your daughter, same reason you weren't into your mom. You can still recognize that one or the other is objectively attractive without wanting to pork them. If you do want to pork them, you are mentally ill and should seek counseling.

When did she let them know? There's no reason to believe the secret is known to anyone other than that the son is glaring at her at the end, not that he had an opportunity to find out.

So the twist is they were black the whole time? lame

You fuck her mother while thinking of her.

Pat Sajak is gay and out of the closet yet gets ignored... hmmm

This on any streamers yet?

>No virtue signaling
>Some oscar bait
It's alright by me. The father is a normal human, while the mom is a monster-clone-person. Even then, he killed the two strongest enemies they faced.

I hated that the doubles were either indestructible terminators or easily killed depending on what the plot needed.

This. He is just a normal dude fighting against evil crazy clones of his own family and personal friends. What the hell did you expect?

>its a no one really talks about the movie thread
>mostly people crying about /pol/

when will plebbit leave?

>everybody who doesn't love constant outdated /pol/ memes is from reddit
this is why Trump will unironically lose 2020. You conservatives shove your beliefs down everyones throats so hard you'd make a 2008 liberal blush.

Camrips only so far

Someone right now tell me if it was a Horror or a Comedy.

Attached: 1439933695765.gif (300x300, 1.9M)

Definitely a horror, but everything after the home invasion is limp as fuck. There's comedic scenes but honestly most of them fell flat with me (that stupid fucking "Who's driving" scene, fuck off).

It's funny how what you call "the left" are just, in fact, money obsessed jews who are simply following a trend

Which ones?
Them or the lunatic Dopplegangers twins

No, but they are made to look stupid.

It's genuinely scary for like an hour and then after that its not

I dont know how to explain it without spoiling so if you dont care about non detailed spoilers here ya go

When the evil family first shows up those couple of scenes are scary but then after that when they move on to the next set of scenes its not scary at all and more of a slasher type of film

did you learn nothing from 2016 democrats being 100% sure there candidate couldn't lose, and antagonizing the opposition? Conservatives do nothing but claim everybody who criticizes any aspect of Trump is an extreme leftist with mental issues. Republican turnout is going to be garbage because they think it's a sure-win, democrats are going to be out for blood.

The gratuitous scene in the car- us blacks got rhythm white boy!

you mean shit?

Look at Trump's approval ratings libtard. Just because your circle jerk echo chamber is loud does not mean the silent majority wont vote him in again. Bush 2 got reelected and he was way more of a fuck up than Trump- plus Bush 2 crashed the economy (among other things).

who are you quoting?

good one

Not really Oscar bait since the Oscars just past.
Gonna have to really remembered to get anything for the next Oscars.

you really believe this?

Get Out came out in February. Plus all the TV spots have the narrator guy saying "JORDAN PEELE IS BACK WITH HIS SOPHOMORE EFFORT". They love shilling that guy.

At the beginning of the civil war the Union produced something like 90% of all manufactured goods. They had four times as many miles of railroad, ten times as many merchant ships, twenty times as many ironworks. Worker productivity 2-300% higher than the south by most estimates. The South was agricultural but northern farms produced a sizable majority of all corn, wheat, oats, and other staples. All done by free labor.

there is absolutely nothing political on the surface level. any message you see is you extrapolating and has more to do with your distorted worldview than jordan peele

>people with scissors beat people with guns
>movie takes place in the Califate
>people with guns

not sure if i'm right but i think he heard part of the conversation between the two mothers at the end

I'm kinda mixed on this film. The explanation the "bad" guys wasn't good but in a weird way, the twist ending kinda saved it for me. Overall I had a good time but it certainly wasn't nearly as good as Get Out was.

*explanation of

>Jordan Peele is half white. His own mother is white. He grew up around white people. He's not going to blanketly hate all white people.
And yet, Jordan Peele has said that race is a much bigger divider than class, that he's a victim of racism every single day, and that both of those things are what his movie is about.

Imagine how fucking dumb you have to be to be further off from Peele's analysis of his own movie than /pol/ is while you're trying to defend it.

My screening had a bunch of hilarious and condescending black people saying shit like "I can't take this seriously!" and groaning

>nigger LITERALLY says his movies are race propaganda

And you still deny it

The real question is why someone who owes EVERYTHING to the white race has such a deep hatred of them like Peele

Massive inferiority complex I'm guessing

>dark shot
>can see their faces at all

Are you fucking retarded? The wife was crawling away and tried to say "Call the police" and then the song played while they killed the white family. If you are going to make shit up at least remember the fucking scenes.
