Animation is some of the best I've ever seen. I also really dig the aesthetic on some episodes. For a 10-17 minute shorts, that's all I really care about.

The first episode is honestly one the weaker ones. All the rape imagery was so fucking ham-fisted and pointless.

A lot of the episodes are meh and are fine to skip, but I think the best ones are Zima Blue, Good Hunting, Suits, Shape-Shifters, and Beyond The Aquila Rift.

The SJW pandering was to make you buy into the rape story, user. It was to make you think that she had so much pent up hate for men inside of her, that that was what made her such a good fighter. It was to make sure no one ever found out that the real reason was because she was literally fighting for her life every single time she was in the arena.

It's better on the second viewing when you realize the feminist power fantasy is just a wall of smoke. And it's a way better story than "lol what if rednecks had mechs" or "dracula but he's afraid of cats xD"

I watched the first three episodes and intend to see more. The writing isn't great, but it also isn't too offensively bad. If the animation weren't up to par you could safely ignore all this shit. But watching it for the animation alone is worth it. I love what I've seen so far.

I watched the first episode because of the hype and thought, well maybe this gets significantly better. Then I looked it up and the episode I just watched was the second highest rated on IMDb.
I'm too old and I will never enjoy new shows or films ever again. I will have to stick to literature and music from here on.

In the original story, it wasn't present, but in the original story, the rape was something she made up to sell her "hate gives me my edge" cover story. In the short, they turn the rape shit up to eleven to sell it to the viewer so that you'll be focused on the human and not the monster.

Probably also because saying a character lied about being raped would be "problematic".
