You guys know the "fuck men" scene was a red herring, right
Haven't watched all of them but so far a lot of them feel like video game stories, in that they're secondary or excuses to get our player going. I watched 2 episodes where it's just a classic human vs alien with little to no depth. 'Three Robots' had fun little interactions, but again I don't know what else to take from the episode besides "That was neat, I guess." Zima Blue was great and so was the Rift episode. If they've had more episodes like that it would've been a good watch, but sadly with episodes like the Dracula one it's just painfully average. (btw i've only seen 6 episodes, if they're good ones worth the watch, pls reply)
who gives a shit what Yea Forums thinks, they are always wrong. Just enjoy it
the lesbian bit in Sonnie's Edge gave me chub
No, only reddit approved
i mean you're right, those are the only ones are that "profound science fiction" category. The rest are just fun stories like the dracula one, which I enjoyed, or focus on the human element like the first episode.
These.
i didnt get a lot of them. like the one where the chic is doing makeup and sees a murder and runs and and the end is the murderer herself.
the farmer one in the exosquad suit mechs was kinda neat though
Miller tried to create an Heavy Metal reboot, remake or whatever... the project failed completely because these guys are utter retards and they picked up the bits and came up with Love Death + Robots...
As one would expect, it's awfully bad... all of it... there are some nice entries but overall tainted by poor artistic choices and bland or generic decisions... The visuals might appeal to you but as a whole, the project fails entirely...
what would you expect from the idiot that directed the first Deadpool
Yeah David Fincher is a real retard
flies are drawn to the shit...
Yeah, I hated that one at first, but the more I think about it, they were (very overtly) trying to lead you in one direction before the twist. I wish they had just kept it closer to the original story, they pushed it too close to MAH STRONG FEMINIST power fantasy for it to be enjoyable without realizing after the fact that it was to keep you from picking up on what the twist was going to be.
This. I enjoyed The Witness largely for the fantastic animation, but none of the stories feel like they have any point besides "hey isn't this cool". Beyond the Aquila Rift and The Witness have more interesting stories on a superficial level, but again, nothing to really think about.
I expected more thoughtful and deep storytelling from a series that is trying to sell itself on being unabashedly mature, but it seems like the mature part is literally just that there's gore and sex. It all feels so thoughtless.
What you're saying is true. The storytelling is largely shallow, the series' prime concern seems to be in the aesthetic, and the mature label is there due to gratuitous violence and sex rather than it's thematic elements but what did you expect? Have you seen Heavy Metal? They were never going for thoughtful narratives.
Even Heavy Metal had a better framed narrative with a constant source of evil drifting through time, corrupting those it comes into contact with. But the comparison I heard more than that was The Animatrix, which it is similar to in structure. I was just expecting a similar caliber of storytelling, or something closer to recent anthologies series like Black Mirror or Electric Dreams.
That Chinese girl was so hot.
I want to fuck the spirit fox woman thing
before of after she became a robot?
At least they are trying something new so that is good. Even though the results are mixed.
Best: Secret War
Worst: Ice Age
Most overrated: Zima Blue
Most underrated: Fish Night
I will also disregard your opinion
>I watched all of it immediately like a good little cuck.
>samefagging himself 11 minutes later to keep the thread alive
pathetic
The Witness is a time loop, it begins with the man killing the woman, then chasing her down as the witness and her killing him. She looks up and then he is the witness, and she now is the killer. Now he chases her and then he has to defend himself from her, killing her, at which point her parallel self will witness the murder and everything repeats.
David Fincher user, get the fuck out.
>Seven
>Fight Club
>Zodiac
>The Social Network
>Gone Girl
BREHS
What's the twist? I skipped episode 1 and 2 (too reddity). I watched most of episode 3 but mostly just because the visual style was so cool. Think I'm giving up on watching any more desu but I'd still like to know what the plot twist is in episode 1 without watching it, thank you!
wow u smart
Yea so the way to stop the time loop was to tell the witness that they're stuck in a time loop, but instead the witness always panics and kills the murderer.

>anything on Kikeflix

>tfw you will never build your own robot waifu
all of those are garbage
Totally agree but
>Worst: Ice Age
>not Alternate Histories
The Dracula episode was great camp.
>The visuals might appeal to you but as a whole, the project fails entirely
The point of the project is the fucking visuals
Heavy Metal wasn't some deep allegorical shit
it was just a showy animation anthology by late 70's/Early 80's Calarts edge-lords. It steered into sci-fi and fantasy tropes, albeit in a self-ware way, but it wasn't trying to rewrite the book on animated storytelling.
Love, Death and Robots is a fine re-imagining. There was only one segment that was really worthy of /pol/ level bullshit and the rest was great.
LIVIN IN THE SHADOOOOWS
LIVIN IN THE SHADOOOOWS
>TFW no merciful alien spider GF to fug
>TFW No Face cause it's all a simulation
Alien spider waifu & chinese robot waifu are the only things worth it in LDR
Hope we get a S2.
Even the weaker ones were still worth a watch thanks to how short they were. I hope we get less "super realistic military style" ones though just because that's kind of boring visually.
Fish Night was incredibly beautiful
There's no twist, the lesbian dyke is a stronk woman who hates men and wins. That would have been different if the episode ended when she gets killed, but it wasn't her real body, she was inside the monster and kills them. It doesn't make any sense. Then I watched episode 2 and it's 3 robots trying to be funny, but they failed horribly, nothing was funny or interesting in that episode. I don't understand who greenlit this shit and how Fincher put his name on it
Yeah, and I liked how it was sort of a re-telling of the Icarus story.
Sucker of Souls and Blind Spot should be at the bottom, they're really lame and have awful dialogue
>Miller tried to create an Heavy Metal reboot
Is Heavy Metal worth checking out?
This the one story that really felt like it was missing something. Kind of like it was building up to something that never happened. When it ended I was like "Oh? That's it?"
havnt seen this yet, is it like the old Heavy Metal movie, with tits and sci-fi shit?
Yea I feel like it should've been a full length movie. It's like a superhero film that ended at the origin story... like, what's next?
why don't any of them have satisfying endings?
SUBVERTED
It's hard to write a good ending so you just write a n ambiguous or dark ending. (or write a loop-ending for memes)
>it doesn't make any sense
Her mind was put in the body of the monster after she was raped and nearly killed, and she controls her old body via microchips. It's not complex. And if you think her motivation was that she hates men, you completely missed the point of the twist.
>Her mind was put in the body of the monster after she was raped and nearly killed
I don't think that's true, I think she was always the monster. That's why she specifically says everyone misunderstands about her fighting for revenge.
it was beautiful
A shame it had nothing else going for it
It was a new take on the Icarus story, which I thought was neat.
...no, she had her mind put in the monster. She literally tells you this in plain English. Everyone misunderstands about her fighting for revenge because she fights to stay alive since she is now physically inhabiting the body of the monster. She plays off the rape thing to give people a false impression of what gives her her edge.
Three robots deserves to be at the bottom. It had no creativity, no purpose. it was 12 minutes of modern talking points and reddit humor.
>cats XDDDD
>lol t-baggin ahaha gamerz
>they thought god was REAL aahaha
>woah! sportsball!
>all they had to do was believe in global warming!
>directly referencing an "adult" cardgame played exclusively by bugmen
What an absolute waste of a premise that could have been at the very least eerie with good visuals.
Like anything on Netflix, utterly forgetable. Finished watching it last week and I remember nothing besides Zima Blue and cool animation in The Witness.
Every single one of these is shit. So exposition heavy, horrible efforts to seem cool and the stories are infantile in nature. The writer of every one of these seems to live in a masturbatory dream world. Oh at least the art is pretty for some.
I liked the first episode, the second one lost me a bit
Why does everyone love Zima Blue so much? don't get me wrong, it was better than most of the other shorts, but isn't it basically a citizen kane rip-off?
>Sonnies edge
>over the top evil characters
>dude I'm a badass woman get over it
>looks exactly like a video game cutscene
>the actual fight was awful
what a dreadful episode and show. Three Robots and the Witness weren't much better. I gave up after that
I made my tier list with paint
Every other episode was completely medicore and forgettable. Plus shell shock of finding out that it's actually not a BLACKED fan fic.
what's wrong with The Witness?
It was my favourite
Artstyle is good but this story has been told a thousand times and it was extremely obvious
In fairness most of these stories are derivative. At least The Witness looked good, didn't overstay it's welcome, and didn't try to cram some hamfisted dialogue or 2deep4u meaning down our throat.
yes because everyone is saying it's misogynistic
>all they had to do was believe in global warming!
This is the only one I had an issue with, mainly because the environment seems totally fucking okay. It's like they decided last minute to add the global warming shit.
My biggest issue was a lot of these episodes screamed "This was made by Californians"
It's basically short animated comics from Heavy Metal, or thats what it feels like. Not everything has to be highbrow entertainment.
you could say the same for every episode
I see you also enjoyed Shape Shifters. That had the most potential for a full length movie in my opinion. Their fellow marines being so cartoonishly villainous towards them was the only bad part. pretty sure by the time you got past boot camp together, and had your ass saved multiple times by those guys you at least wouldn't be harassing them in the mess hall.
extremely boring, stopped watching after 10 minutes
I couldn't tell if the reason for that was because they were retarded, or if they actually wanted us to believe cats killed all the humans. either way it was peak reddit.
Nah it was shit. Full of SJW lesbian bitterness and rape fantasies. Hard pass.
global warming is real you retarded bumpkin
C O M E R A D E S
>mature
>pointless gore and sex
everytiem
Never said it wasn't.
But if you're going to be "environmental hazards" be the end of the world, don't make the world look so damn nice.
I was so bored with this until this end scene, this shit was unironic kino.
Swap Suits and Good Hunting, and I agree.
Are you retarded? he was complaining that the show didn't display the world ending due to environmental disasters. from the looks of things humans had been dead for less than 100 years. the city wasn't nearly fucked up enough. it looked more like people just offed themselves or suddenly died. that one guy was about to eat a big mac for fuck sake.
>Thought Alternate Histories had a really neat premises going, especially since I love history
>They only do one point in history several times and it's all completely unfunny
How disappointing.
The Good Hunting was hilarious because they put that whole evil colonizer thing but the Chinese are doing that RIGHT NOW in Africa.
The next short after that should have been the entire empire of dust documentary.
It's only bad when a white person does it.
I know everyone wants to think it was written as a WHITE MEN EVIL BAD fantasy, but it was steampunk. It kind of had to be England.
I don't mind the english being the bad guys. I just hate that I was promised some cool eastern fantasy monster slaying with a potential doomed romance, and instead I got 15 minutes of "colonization BAD!". The MC didn't even tap that cat-droid puss. what a fucking rip-off.
>Literally every white man shown in the episode was a bad person, especially the main villain
>not WHITE MEN EVIL BAD fantasy
idk why the first 3 minutes or so was included desu. They could've easily removed that part of the story and just show the steampunk England part.
The most famous artist of all time looks like a black guy. So important!
One of my unberably normal pleb friends asked me yesterday if I like it and I have never even heard of it so I assume it's complete garbage.
Even the trailer is terrible. Don't post on here again OP. Please.
30% garbage
60% mediocrity
10% kino
Basically just watch Zima Blue, Aquila Rift, and Secret war.
>No Fish Night
Just watched Zima Blue
That was terrible
>watch the first short
>literally, yes LITERALLY, "stronk womyn sticking it to ebul rapist males", complete with strawman evil dude making sexual motions as a threat
When you lead your fucking show with a preachy piece of shit like that do you really expect me to give you the benefit of the doubt?
Thumbs down, don't show me this crap again, see you next time you wanna tell me again how despicable I am for being born with a dick, Netfux.
The fight scene was cool though
Sonnies Edge is literally a /pol/ filter so it's already 10/10
It helped me blacklist a bunch of animation studios from receiving future projects
It starts off that way as a red herring. If you finished it, you'd know that. The angry raped feminist facade was that, a facade to hide the real reason she's undefeated. It's in the title, the short is about what gives Sonnie her edge, and it has literally nothing to do with rape or powerful womyn fantasies.
Is Aquila Rift better explained in the actual book? Cause im still fuckin lost
Yeah yeah, she was in the body of the creature and not her own body. I won't get into why that doesn't make any sense and instead just call out that the reason for that was, yes, that she was raped and the rapists broke her skull or some shit. It wasn't a red herring. The red herring was that nobody would ever think she was in the fucking creature.
yea yea, contrarian little shit
In the original story, it was a car accident. The writers were retarded (or scared of backlash from metoo) and decided to change the fact that it was a lie, but the important thing is that she isn't driven by revenge or a hatred of men, she's driven by the desire to make it out of the arena alive. It has nothing to do with her rape.
the correct opinion
Can we all agree that Secret War was absolute kino?
the end? Yea.
Lucky 13 has been done many times before and better.
It had nothing going on.
I've watched Sonnies Edge, Three Robots, The Witness, Zima Blue, Beyond the Aquila Rift, Fish Night and the Secret Wat
I appreciate the animation but I wouldn't say I enjoyed any of those episodes. All kind of boring, nothing worth rewatching
While making her
in the end, the spiderfu puts hin to sleep again
Three robots could have been peak comfiness and they fucking ruined it with reddit humour and that haha dumb humans haha meme shit. I fucking hate them so god damn much.
I just want visually pleasing and i don't mean sexually, fucking degenerates robot friends exploring a deserted human world without that faggot shit. Also who the fuck still uses the middle finger unironically? That's cringe and a yikes from me
>watched these ones: Sonnies Edge, Three Robots, The Witness
>i want my 40 minutes back. what parts of these episodes were redeeming at all?
Yes, same with Zima Blue.
The series is amazing.
It's beyond Animatrix, and I'll tell you why:
Animatrix is framed.
LD+R is not.
Thus, we will have endless threads discussing this shit, because the taste is so varied that you will always like at least one story, even if everyone else think it's shit.
Deadpool effect. It has jokes of every kind of humour.
The Witness is the only one I'd say was worth watching. Just because the animation is so fucking good.
The Witness would make an amazing porno.
you're embarassing
Why does Suits look so much worse than every other episode? Whoever was in charge of that one really half-assed it.
>there are cats in 3 different short stories, plot point in every one of them
The more I think about it the more I hate the writers
Inb4 h-half foxes are n-not cats!
Cats belong to the family Felidae. Foxes are in the family Caninae. They're more closely related to dogs than cats.
So yeah, not cats.
I liked the funny ones about yoghurt and the ice age one, yeah didnt fit the general theme but still good.
DUDE BRITISH ACCENTS THAT AMERICANS THINK ARE AUTHENTIC BUT ARE FUCKING AWFUL IF YOU'RE BRITISH LMAO
>moves like cat
>looks like a cat lady
>It's not a cat lol
>Ackshually she is a 6000yo demon
Fucking simpletons
>Two monsters fighting
>Get it? IT'S RAAAAPE
It's the jagged animation
It looked quite good
it gave me a Starcraft vibe
It's not a cat lady. They use the word huli jing, which is the nine-tailed fox in Chinese mythology.
I don't see how people saw it as a rape metaphor beyond "they mentioned rape before the fight"
>The red herring
I don't think you know what this means
>asia hooker girl chasing the guy down the streets wearing nothing but that robe.
The story is interesting
>robot gains sentience, becomes intellectually advanced, can't leave his first love, decides to reject his higher cognitive functions and return to what he really was built for and loved- cleaning that pool.
Yes
But since Yea Forums is full of redditors.....
I felt A Helping Hand deserved a bit better score for having some actual tension (something Gravity failed with).
>mention rape before the fight
>girl claims she fights because she got raped
>her male adversary makes sexually suggestive motions before fighting her and calls her "little girl"
>woman wins the fight by literally penetrating the dude
Gee, I fucking wonder how...
It feels like a failed screenplay writer's scraps.
Just watched episode 8.
Two things:
They have no problem shoving dicks&tits in our face, but somehow cunny is one step to far, the hypocrisy is lost on them.
And the second, these story's are okay, but you have to be retarded to not understand these.
So far the talking cat plottwist was the only one that made me smile.
The Witness is the best because I could jerk off to it very easily.
Dude
It's a fucking cat-lady
I'm watching a cat lady in bare tits jumping around and you expect me to care about your deep loreshit for a 10 min short
Are you retarded or something
The cats are a prophecy in the Dracula one and super intelligents in the robots one, it doesn't matter if they are called Prophecats and Smurtcats ackshually.
There are 3 fucking plot-point related different cats in 14 shorts spanning an unlimited amount of ideas about vaguely death, love and/or robots.
And you expect me to care about this one not-cat, because deep loreshit
What the heck kind of animation even was The Witness
Also: Witness Girl R34 when
I watched the murder-loop episode first and called it as an obvious loop like 30 seconds in.
Then watched the monster fight episode and was rolling my eyes at all the girl power shit 30 seconds in, and called the lesbian thing post fight. I will admit I got caught off guard when blonde lesbian stabbed her through the head and it turned out to be a robot body, but that's a pretty meh twist.
Very predictable with a ton of standard netflix liberal political messaging shoehorned in. 4/10 you could get through it if you were very stoned.
>deep loreshit
It's some of the most well-known Asian mythology? Even a kid would probably be like "oh hey, that looks like Ninetales/Naruto"
You're just trying to stretch a point because you want to be mad at this for some reason.
>you're intelligent
>FOR A CHINA MAN
WTF DID HE MEAN, BROS?????
Chinese are generally considered subhuman in cultured society.
It was normal 3D done with heavy live action references at hand + a million cuts, vibrations and camera jumps to disrupt the frames so you can't see the 3D natural smoothness
The only steady scenes are the sofa dance, and one running frame with a wide as fuck framing
I've seen three,
One about Soviet soldiers vs demons, vidya shit.
One about a ship with the number 13 on it, shit.
And the one about the lost ship and the spider, decent, but I pass on the CGI uncanny valley tits.
>stretch a point
I'm not even going to stretch discussing with a retard by going to the damn folder and pasting 2-3 screencaps in mspaint
>a show where not just white men but actual literal redneck farmers are noble heroes
what the fuck is Netflix thinking?!
>Secret War
Thank you, I want an entire series based on Russians fighting the Occult
Quit fucking with me janny
Alright. Just know that your points are
>she is a cat lady
>she really is
>i swear
When the short itself names them as mythological nine-tailed foxes, they are very clearly foxes, and foxes themselves are in the same family as dogs, not cats.
You're wrong. It happens. I will give you that foxes have some cat-like traits, but the fact that they explicitly put foxes in rather than cats does not mean that they were trying meme cats like the other two. I actually agree about those, by the way. It's basically Hillary Clinton claiming she keeps hot sauce in her purse, just pandering to a demographic in the most "hello fellow kids" way possible.
But Good Hunting has foxes, not cats.
>uncanny valley tits.
What
me like boobies and me like blood
very gud
Hope you like plenty of dick, too
>post-sex in Aquila Rift
>Greta's lying there completely fucked-out like a limp rag
>but she's still got her little white panties on

reddit approved. stop making these shill threads, faggot
aquila rift is WAY OVERHYPED
it fucking sucks bros
you suck!
Fuck off it's great!
British imperialists are known for their blatant racism towards anyone who isn't English
ftfy
I dont know why everyone has a boner for zima blue " omg he wants to be a retard robot again such deep story "
how tf did the spider lady take over a large part of the solar system
imagine being this much of a brainlet.
swap blind spot and shape-shifters and you have my list
So, uh
how old do we reckon that young wolf-girl is the first time we see her?
She was in a different part of the galaxy
They were generally pretty good, but blindsight sucked.
why do people think Sonnie is edgy
what was edgy about that episode?
read the short story
>girl gets graphically impaled and then facestomped at the end
that's not edgy, that's just gratuitous violence
I don't know, going from a lesbian sex scene to pretty extreme gore in a matter of seconds seems pretty provocative to me.
the number of nudity complaints is staggering
fucking americans
It's not an issue with the nudity itself, it's just a lazy way to come off "adult"
or maybe they just want to make it seem less taboo to you prudes
user I literally just got done jerking off to a feminine son seducing his futanari mother, who upon drinking her cum, suffered a hands free orgasm simply from the taste.
I wish the witness girl also had hairy armpits
Why did one robot talk like a hoodrat?
From a review:
Suits" is, on the surface, fun, charming, and good-hearted. Some red-blooded American farmers defend their land from unwanted invaders. Then the camera draws back at the end to reveal that humans are the ones invading and colonizing this planet and the episode stops being cute. The history of Native Americans being mistreated is no joke, and anything that shows white Americans as the heroes fighting for “their land” against what are characterized as wild, monstrous, native species is disingenuous at best.
Fucking hell
There's no reason to assume those aliens are natives though
Tumblr is a cancer that should be forcibly excised
There is literally no reason to believe the rednecks are ivaders, especially since at worst they established bubbles where they kept to themselves unless attacked by the aliens.
Yogurt and ice age trade places.
I'm glad people liked Zima Blue. Thought abstract art was lost amongst the youth of zoomer and boomer society.
What a shitty list
it had nothing to do with abstract art?
Zima Blue was the only short that felt like it had any thought behind it.
fish night was terrible
>suffer through day
>ghosts haunt houses? fish may as well haunt canyons
>haha shut up dad
Vergil did nothing wrong
the series starts with beyond the rift, if you got sonnie's edge as the first episode, you watch a lot of "queer" tv and netflix thinks you're a fag
This
Wait, what the fuck? The order of episodes is influenced by what you watch? How the fuck is that possible, series that aren't anthologies have an order to their episodes. What use would an algorithm that does that have besides this one completely specific instance?
It's a b8 meme, ignore them.
Holy fuck you have shit taste
It’s like all the stories were written by a bunch of underage retards from deviantart
it's almost like it's the exact opposite and you're just a triggered poltard
lmao!
love death robots IS an anthology
open at your own risk
Realistically most units would be yelling fuck year werewolves and asking how they could become one too.
Yeah, I totally want to watch this western virtue-signalling crap because some two weeks ago I was watching a bunch of foreign films and it ended with The Handmaiden.
Hey Netflix, I won't like your stupid series just because you put the one episode with a lesbian in it at the front. I gave Handmaiden a thumbs up because it's a good, well-made movie, not because the leads were scissoring for five minutes in the second act.
And also it's pretty crazy that, while indeed my episode list starts with that one episode, I didn't even watch it in my Netflix account. A friend showed it to me. Like, apparently we're both faggots.
>story about marine werewolves
>uses "dog soldier" as a slur
>doesn't even specify that "soldier" was the more insulting part
>no "devil dog" jokes
0/10, absolute worst short of the anthology. They should have got the Terminal Lance guy to write it.
you must be if you think that margaret atwood is a good writer
What the fuck are you talking about?
Was she legit guys? Did she really care about them? I can't think of a reason she'd lie after he figured it out.
“Fish Night” is one the the worst ones because it had no effort put into it.
>What if Ghost fish!?!!
>Wow Ghost fish!!!
>Die to ghost shark
My favorites were Three Robots and Beyond the Aquila Rift.
>tom had sex with that spider thing
yikes
I've always wanted an R-rated HEAVY METAL tv show with gore and nudity. Does this fit the bill?!?FACT!!!
imagine the succ
She legit
My believe, is that she even want to be loved an accepted
Be honest with yourself and admit that Alternate Histories made you laugh at least one time. Ice Age was a complete waste of time.
I also believe that Secret War was the producers favorite because they put it last.
Without question the most plebe fucking list in the history of these threads.
Although Fish Night really was kino.
this. I don't get why people make it S-tier. It looks like tell tale borderlands too. It was okay.
all your opinions are shit.
What's a good free (or easy to pirate) photo editing tool? I want to rip this off but paint is going to make it difficult to edit.
This, in the end it kind of deconstructed the masses' presumed ability to appreciate abstract art.
The only way any of the public or any of his patrons could actually understand his art is if they knew what he really was. And apparently only the reporter ended up knowing the truth and telling the world after his final work.
Until then though, all of his admirers and fans of his work simply were appreciating on the level of le blue square is art because le blue square is art.
In the original story, yes she does care. She and her crew were the first to crashland there. They are a weird immortal spider race that can cause hallucinations. The alien tech the humans use cause jump misalignments which end up at a weird spider-hive satellite. So the most she can do is try and keep the dying humans comfortable by making them dream like they are still in the ship.
They really are off course, thousands of lightyears even. So far that comms doesn't work and even if they could get out, they'd die considering fastest human travel IS lightspeed. So the spiders just keep the humans comfy and sane until they die.
>So the spiders just keep the humans comfy and sane until they die.
And they do this for free?
Why did they cut her legs off to start if they were replacing her entire body with robot parts? Why not just have the body ready to go, and transplant head onto it?
Opinion incoming.
yes, literally no need for them to cruel to the humans who also crash landed there.
wtf I love Jannies now
>evil white men
The Dracula episode felt like it was written by a 19-year-old VtM player. It was easily the shittiest of the whole series. And cliche as fuck. Not to mention they say they only have "2 P90 clips" left, and pull out FAMAS rifles.
That didn't make me NOT enjoy it. But goddamn, if I didn't want a full length film of the story. It was like a literal version of Fox & The Hound.
it was great. i think if they are going to make "adult cartoons" they could make it more mature in ways beyond sex and violence. it reminded me of a scifi Liquid Television
There are four different orders to the episodes. They are random though
It is also the only Netflix anthology series. Sounds completely impractical to create an algorithm just for this one series.
Godawful taste.
Suits, Sucker of Souls, and Three Robots are irredeemable.
Felt and looked like World Record from Animatrix
proof it was a good show. they should adapt more of Reynolds short stories
>but it's totally fine when they kill men tee hee hee
in certain shorts the facial animation is really nice. you can imagine a not so distant future where ractors replace awful hollywood spotlight chasers
Fucking hated glorifying commies and Red Army, typical fun for brain dead lefties.
Fuck off mongoloid
I can't think of any besides Sonnie's Edge, Helping Hand, and Good Hunting which depicted particularly graphic violence against women? And in all three of those, the women were the objectively "stronger" characters.
i would like to explore the concept of loving a non-humanoid alien
Damn..
>Zima Blue was great and so was the Rift episode
Those were coincidentally the only two episodes based on an Alastair Reynolds short story.
Buy some pudding, pretend it's sentient, and fuck it
I should start reading Alastair Reynolds books then
Kino
>True
>Love
>Death
>Robots
this show is so fucking reddit it hurts
Zima Blue was arthouse plebe filter.
The Witness was some of the most interesting animation I have seen in my entire life.
Good Hunting started ok, then went to fucking shit since it doesn't know what story to tell. They should have chosen either full supernatural or steam punk. Shit's worse than three robots.
only seen sonnie's edge, good to know it's one of the worst episodes and i have better to look forward to
It was an Xbox/soldier. How else would it talk?
reddit show
>started ok
>literally reuses shitty stock sound effects during fight scene
Fuck no. It started out horribly. I'd argue that it only got more interesting because you didn't know where it was going. Most of these stories are predictable af but you cant say that about Good Hunting.
A steampunk story set in Hong Kong about resisting the colonizers would have been great. But a silkpunk story about using chinese magic to rebel against the British would have been even better. This was just an excuse to animate someone's furry cyborg OC Donut Steel.
Imagine being so vapid that the most important thing in the world to you is determining a scale of how much an entertainment company doesn't care about your very specific, unimportant political views
I really liked Zima Blue storytelling.
How a robot evolved, transcended, discovered the universe, and went back to ”dust” after everything
Also, nice visuals
Absolutely

Oyy veey
Whats if we kill hittler 5 different ways trannies would reach the moon!!
THIRTEEN!
Fish Night was nice, but the ending completely blew it
I just got to this one. Really embarrassing; I’m just going to pretend it doesn’t exist because it seriously cheapens the entire series.
This shit panders to nerdy incel scifi and fantasy loving dudebros that need a pair of tits in their media otherwise they can't enjoy it. Netflix has really lost the plot with this one.
So about that "First woman on the moon scene". I'm pretty sure the text on the screen said 1969 for the >le 69 joke, but the voice over said 1996. Am I remembering wrong or were they really implying that even with the help of technologically advanced hypersexual aliens, women wouldn't make it to the moon until several decades after the Austrian men?
The first moon landing happened in 1969
its a time capsule arthouse masterpiece user. without meaning to, it represents the entire emotional spectrum of the dreams and horrors of what the artists had at the time. It's like having a 70-80s version of the grimm's fairy tales, and ld+r is the fairy tales collection of our computer generation
Nice
Checked
The short was so dumb that my dying braincells could have caused a hallucination, but I remember seeing the 6 and the 9 grinding against each other onscreen while the narrator said 1996. Was it really just a "in this timeline, the first moon landing happened in the same year as in our timeline, but they had help from the gayylmaos" joke?
I’m pretty sure I heard the same thing but I’m not rewatching to find out.

zima blue is also an S
>yogurt and hitler not at the bottom
I don't care what else you like or dislike you're part of the problem.
If I had taste as bad as you I would probably kill myself.
Good Hunting is the pleb filter for anyone who understands symbolism on any level, Helping Hand is pleb filter for anyone with two brain cells.
>Secret War below literal pointless shit like Ice Age or Dump
>Alternate Histories above anything
The worst part of your list is it is nonsensical. I can accept shit taste, but it's like you rolled a pair of dice to decide where to put things. Why are Histories and Yogurt three tiers above Robots?
>Alternate histories in A
>Secret War in C
5/5

This list is as close to perfect as I can see.
Too lazy to make a list. The Secret War sucked.

Alternate Histories
The Secret War is literally Suits but better and not at 3 FPS.
Suits had soul, The Secret War didn’t.
>The Wussians shoot da scary monsters. Get out of here, stalker XD
This. I was surprised to see so many anons liked secret war
>talking about Soul
>when you have Calarts of Souls above virtually everything
50% of the rating of Suits is on the great ending shot that ties the whole episode together. It's entirely formulaic and predictable, and every character is a farmer stereotype. And of course the horrid framerate. Secret War has an initially unknown enemy, better animation, more areas of tension, from the forest ambush, to the failed demolition. It's very well put together, inferior to only Aquila, which is pretty much impossible to top without a brilliant twist. Any argument against it can be easily applied much stronger to any other episode.
>muh russian hate
bet you haven't even seen tarkovsky's stalker, fag
this is just from one watchthrough and whenever i get to watching it again, i'm sure they'll all get shuffled around again. three robots gave away the context of the entire episode in seconds and it just dragged on and on after that. alternate histories and yogurt had a much faster pace but still delivered more content and more change despite being the shortest skits. they made me laugh, they made me engaged. i felt like i was back in time watching newgrounds cartoons for the first time again. three robots instead was like watching a dorkly collegehumor skit except even more fatty and distasteful.
i like how the mc of the dump took a liking to the dump monster even after it killed his only friend, and how it saved him in the end
i like how the young couple were static and sarcastic while they were watching their freezer world advance so quickly. it reminded me of calvin and hobbes in a way
i feel bad for secret war because i was half asleep by the time i got to it so im certain it'll get a bump later
and the s shorts are there arent really there for the writing or scripting, but for the worlds they presented. they affected me for personal reasons. so whatever there i guess. i might have shit taste but i'm glad that there was so much space and creativity in ld+r so that there's something for everyone to appreciate
Interesting opinions, user. Definitely watch Secret War again. I guess it's falling out a favor, but I still think it's one of the best for it's near flawless execution.
That doesn't make sese through.
The girl was in her own apartment at the start, and then hid in the killer's apartment before she killed him.
Then the killer saw her from another apartment? But the apartment they're in right now is his apartment so how does that work?
Suits had actual characterization. It presented several actual characters that had actual character arcs. Meanwhile, Secret War has an indiscriminate amount of Russianand an ogre walking through the snow.you’re obviously very hung up on the frame rate and couldn’t look past it, it was nearly identical to Spider Verse and I wouldn’t be surprised if the same animators worked on both. Suits had much better art direction too. Secret War painted a boring world with an undercooked occult backstory and absolutely no characterization and surprisingly no atmosphere. Lots of wasted potential. It’s a bland, boring entry to the lineup that had nothing unique to add.
Suits was a boring played out predictable reddit bed time story.
I’d be far more willing to downgrade Suits (I won’t) but Secret War will forever be a steaming pile of boring shit.
Watching the first nine they are predominantly reddit. 2 or 3 were decent but nothing left me satisfied like Twilight Zone, Outer Limits or Animatrix would.
The apartment's ownership swaps. Whoever gets murdered, it is their apartment. Time loop. you can explain it however you want.
>character arcs
What, the guy who accepted the ugly scarecrow because his friend died, or his friend who died to save them? Because those are the only two people that did anything, and that's not an arc for either of them. Just the kid with the instrument had more development than everyone combined in Suits. What makes you think Fish Night has something Secret War doesn't? I personally really liked it, despite most people hating it, but it's entirely a fairy tale version of fate, a man doomed to be swept away on the tides. Great visuals and framing dialogue, too, of course.
Stories shouldn't need to follow western established story structure and character arcs to be received positively. The Secret War was great. Suits was more of the same thrash that all the big players constantly churn out.
You people really need to stop using 'Reddit' as a criticism
If it's their apartment, how come him the from the next time loop is actually in another apartment? It's not a perfect loop. It doesn't make sense.
He’s defending Secret War in the same post. Don’t expect high iq analysis from him.
I'm really thankful for this show, it really shows just how shit a taste half you faggots have.
>A witnesses B kill A
>A flees to club
>B follows A to club
>A flees club
>B follows
>A tries apartment doors until the find an open one
>It's B apartment because they chased A without locking the door
>B wakes up in apartment A
>B witness A kill B
repeat. It makes sense internally, the question is how it started.
>too much of a brainlet to understand anything other than cookie cutter basics
>it must be someone else's fault
>my taste is superior
>not gonna post anything and get proven wrong tho lol
How many times must I explain this?
If A goes into Bs apartment, why is B from the NEXT loop in a different apartment? The only way this works is if there are infinite apartments or somehow they follow a more complex pattern.
I don't understand what you're asking.
>wake up in apartment
>go to other apartment
>kill person in other apartment
>the person killed wakes up in starting apartment
They are a bunch of short stories, not parts of an anthology series. The latter would have forced them to be more consistent with each other.
A) that’s wrong
B) that doesn’t answer the question in any way, shape or form
Think for a second dude, that doesn't work at all. Am I going crazy here or something?
I can't fucking believe i got memed into watching this shit, absolutely fucking appalling if you guys unironically like this. i'd still be mad if i had only watched 1 episode but i nearly watched the whole season waiting for it to get good, alas it did not.
An anthology is merely a collection. By my understanding, this is an anthology.
The answer to your question is probably a combination of the length of the episodes, and the fact that no one writes endings anymore. I'm sure someone has a better analysis, but that's just how it is. No one writes endings.
You're just overthinking it. They both wake up in the same apartment. How they got to that point isn't explained, but that's just how it is.
I think if you only watched the objectively good ones you wouldn’t feel so cheated since there are so many stinkers. Sadly, there are a bunch of retards on this board that, seemingly through a lack of sufficient oxygen to the brain, pick the worst ones and shill them as the best.
Okay so let's call the man that kills the girl at the start A1. The girl he kills is B1. The girl that sees hem kill B1 is B2.
B1 chased A1, and ended up dead in B1s apartment. B2 IS IN A DIFFERENT APARTMENT.
A1 chases B2. Eventually B2 enters A1s apartment and kills A1. Now A2 sees B2 from a different apartment AGAIN. It's not a simple switch every time. It's more complicated.
Both B2 and A2 look through the same window. You can verify this because they're both above the letters MO. You're confusing occupancy of apartments with the characters. The occupant is the role. Murderer looks through the window every time and witnesses themselves murdered.
Only watched the first one. It was garbage.
It's CGI soft porn for footfags who are into gore and rape talk.
There's literally nothing appealing in the entire episode and the way they flaunt the disgusting bullshit is gross, how they try to make it all sexy for people who are into it.
dude what
short stories arent made to tell full complete stories but instead are made to convey an idea, and the length of the short story only goes as long as needed to complete that full idea. stuff like fish island, witness, and edge were made not for the beginning or ending but to flesh out the poetry of it's motif, often explained by one line or action.
>complete that full idea
which typically describes an ending
a short story is just that, a short story. it is necessary that things be removed, but that doesn't mean the basic elements of storytelling. It doesn't need an ending, of course, but to say it is completely divorced is absurd. One can tell a full story, beginning, middle, and end, in a paragraph. Hell, in a sentence.
Occam's razor: the stories don't have endings because no one wrote endings to them.
Honestly I think three robots would easily be in C if it iwasn't for the fucking cat ending. Siri acute
The eternal Anglo
It had high reddit levels and the political message was annoying but the characters themselves were fun. C seems appropriate.
PT1
[The portal they use at the start is ancient alien technology that humans dont completly understand, every now and then something called a "routing error" happens and the ship is transported to a random portal gate which can add days months/years to get back on track. The crew was very unlucky and ended up traveling for more than 100 years and landed right at the end of the chain of portals where the hive is.
The Hive queen is a friendly alien with telepathic abilities and a very deep range of emotions not only can it read minds but also feel what other feels so their pain fear anxiety is felt by the Hive Queen.
An important thing to also note is that the hive queen is also very lonley as her hive is autonomous there are no conversations or jokes or stories they just do what she commands
So when a ship lands she wants the crew to last as long as possible so she has company
Knowing that anyone who lands in her region are going to freak out and most likely either attack her or kill themselves she instead uses her telepathic powers to put them into a friendly dream world where she can prolongue their life for as long as possible however if the person realizes that they are in a dream world and ask for her to lift the dream she warns them that they wont like it before doing so. When they obviously begin to freak out she then sedates them and starts from day 1 again. crew members who accept the dream world the best end up survivng the longest because by my guess they accept the illusion enough to be able to eat/drink what the hive queen is offering them without seeing what the food/drink really is. this is evident by the fact that the main character at the end has years of hair growth and his clothes are all tattered while the others are dead.
The other hints are that he always feels like shit coming out cryo pod and his ship mate feels even worse because she's close to death and the third crewmate is "left" to sleep because he is already dead ]
first time posting here so not really sure how the spoiler brackets work
PT2
[the last thing to point out is that at the end the hive queen removes the other crew mates cryo tanks in the last simulation as they are both long dead at this point so its probably best to hide them from his memory so he doesn't try and wake them causing the illusion to be broken]
Basically all the plot is based on the premise that the dude will freak out no matter how the queen explain herself. If she's friendly she should just talk to him
In his mind, he was on a trading run 5 minutes ago. I doubt many humans would be able to adjust to such a dramatic shift of reality.
