You do realise that 2019 will be the year with the most movies to reach 1 billion in history?

You do realise that 2019 will be the year with the most movies to reach 1 billion in history?

>Captain Marvel
>Avengers: Endgame
>Aladdin
>Detective Pikachu
>Spider-Man: Far From Home
>Lion King
>Toy Story 4
>Frozen 2
>Star Wars: Episode 9

Obviously I am not saying that each one of them is guaranteed to reach billion, but if at least 6 of them do it will be enough to beat 2015 when 5 movies reached billion

You forgot Shazam

I think Detective Pikachu will reach somewhere in the 2-3 billion giving that they could market some Pokemon Go exclusive with it to make sure everyone sees it for that reason.

do those stupid live action disney remakes really have that much draw?

>Captain Marvel
>Avengers: Endgame
>Aladdin
>Spider-Man: Far From Home
>Lion King
>Toy Story 4
>Frozen 2
>Star Wars: Episode 9
Shit trash "movies" and the saddest thing is they may reach 1 billion
>Detective Pikachu
The only possibly good movie on the list and the saddest thing is it probably won't even break even

Pokemon go has a 50,000 player user base idiot

>Captain Marvel
>1 billion
wut

Except maybe the 2 Marvel shits none of these movies will reach 1 billion, what do you smoke ?

>2019
>the year that disney killed cinema
They can't keep getting away with it

Beauty and the Beast was highest grossing movie of 2017

Why is the billion dollar mark more attainable now? Is it because of China (can a movie hit 1B without playing in China)??

Most of that list is disney which is insane. hey bros, whats the movie industry going to look like in 10 years? I can't imagine that after endgame the mcu will be as big as it has been. there arent any interesting mcu style comic book characters that haven't been explored to death. They're going to go for

>black spiderman
>girl thor
>latina iron man
>led by captain marvel

and then of course live action of every popular disney cartoon but there are no new ips really. So, what will Disney do? After becoming the first trillion dollar media company, will they hire their own army and declare themselves a state? What's going to happen in 10 years.

>Detective Pikachu
Is not making a billion

It's popular with normies, in my country Pokemon games were never even a thing until Pokemon Go, but latest Detective Pikachu trailer got very respectable 1.5 million views in only 3 weeks

And this makes you happy because..?

>Star Wars 7
>2 billion
>Star Wars 8
>1,3 billion

Star Wars 9 has no chance to reach 1 billion especially after the awful word of mouth the previous one got.

>inflation is real
>more news at eleven

It's weird to imagine a japanese movie reaching 1 billion

none of those movies are good

this industry needs to die

Detective Pikachu will be decimated by Endgame though

it's not a japanese movie

>will reach somewhere in the 2-3 billion
Delusional. Are these posts bait or do Yea Forumsedditors really have this bad a grasp on box office numbers?

you are a dumbass

There was an article a couple of years ago about how that doesn't mean much anymore, obviously it's still a good thing for the studio but it's not the same as when Titanic reached it. Inflation and growing markets, it's not the milestone of quality film making and/or marketing.

When you adjust for inflation these movies don't even break the top 20.

Only Captain Marvel, Avengers, and Frozen 2 are a dead lock for 1 billion dollars. Stars Wars 9 is only a 50/50 to reach that milestone. The other films, hell no.

Toy Story 3 made over a billion in fucking 2010 and last year that shitty Incredibles sequel easily reached 1.3 billions

>Captain Marvel
>Avengers: Endgame
>Aladdin
>Detective Pikachu
>Spider-Man: Far From Home
>Lion King
>Toy Story 4
>Frozen 2
>Star Wars: Episode 9

ive seen none

Spiderman won't make a bil

>Captain Marvel
Soulless trash and a terrible lead actress

>Avengers: Endgame
Meh. Could be good, but at the same time might be disappointing judging by the leaks.

>Aladdin
Soulless remake

>Detective Pikachu
Could be something

>Spider-Man: Far From Home
CGI-Man 2 Another boring, uninspired film that learned nothing from Homecoming.

>Lion King
Another soulless remake

>Toy Story 4
Soulless sequel that nobody asked for.

>Frozen 2
Soulless sequels to an already soulless franchise.

>Star Wars: Episode 9
Lol.

>Aladdin
no

Yeah and everyone of those spends at least four figures on shitty merchandise and will watch the movie multiple times

you do realize that Pokemon is the highest grossing media franchise of all time right ?

Idiot...

...

Guess what? Some year in the future will be the first year to have just as many TEN billion dollar movies.

The biggest injustice is that Godzilla King of the Monsters probably won't be on that list.

And Hello Kitty is the second highest. Doesn't mean a Hello Kitty movie would make 2 billion.

No. It was TLJ.

You are dumb. Keep whining though.
